A good poace for couscous and kebabs! Had my lamb and beef kebabs cooked medium well. They're perfectly flavoured and melt in your mouth.

So it's been awhile. This used to be on of our go-to restaurants whenever we could not decide on where to eat or if we were unsure if the other restaurants in the area are ok. We've probably eaten here and their other branches maybe 6-8 times each year since this opened. Because of the many, many restaurants opening left and right it's very easy to overlook one such as this.

So my last visit was October 2015, based on the time stamp on my photo! I've kept it here meaning to make a review kaso nakalimutan na. Since I've always enjoyed this place, I might as well write about it.

This beef gyro plate with buttered rice is a favorite of ours. Beef is always soft. Love the tabouleh that gives a nice texture to the meal and the tatziki that sort of cools the tongue from all the hot sauce I add on my beef. The garlic sauce and chili sauce are just really good with everything. The H and my son always orders the Rosemary chicken, which is a really big serving.

We've never been disappointed with this place. Not a fan of their wraps though. I find it bitin. It's stood the test of time and I hope it continues serving us hungry folks for many years.

Ordered a chicken gyro plate for lunch last friday. Was so full after eating the whole plate! The gyro plate i ordered had 2 thick pita breads. I also like their complimentary white garlic-y sauce and the baba ghanoush served with the gyro plates :)

My first experience in Cafe Med was 3 years ago in Abreeza when I used to work in Davao. I didn't like it so much and my friend couldn't accept it. He loves this place. For him, I gave it another try and okkkk it was good.

Basically, almost everything I've had after my first experience was good. I've tried the grilled beef gyro, falafel gyro, and the all-meat kebab platter. The tabbouleh is really good, can't get enough of it. My friend is obsessed with their white sauce (garlic sauce, I think). Can't blame him, it is probably the best and most accessible mediterranean white sauce in the country.

So yeah, all thumbs!

Super late post

Kebab platter & roast chicken on hummus ( not sure with the names) heavy on meat , and generous on taste ... Load it up with the garlicky white sauce to add a whole new level of enticing And blissful flavor

Don't be fooled by picture! Hehe
I had falafel pita, and it was fala-fail 128541
- pita is dry and breaking
- falafel didn't have the taste of real and creamy garbanzos. It was really dry and tasted like burnt meatballs

I couldn't eat it any further and was drowning it with garlic yoghurt sauce. Then I craved for the yummy falafel that was available in Glorietta's Bellysima 128532

This is one of my all time favorite restaurants for the simple reason that they serve good food. Today I tried one of their new offerings, the chickpea soup (top right). It is only Php95 a cup (option for a bigger bowl is available). The soup is quite hearty. It is a good soup to start a meal, and is filling enough to be a stand alone snack., great for a rainy day. The chef didn't scrimp on the veggies - cubed carrots, green beans and chickpeas. The broth is very flavorful. I can taste a hint of cumin which I love! It is SPICY! I can tolerate a bit of heat so it's ok with me but if you don't like it spicy, you might want to tell the waiter. The menu did not say that this is going to be spicy so I was surprised. For my main course, I ordered the Portobello Mushroom Burger (bottom right) which is among my favorites here. It looks small but it is quite filling, specially when paired with the soup. It is a bit expensive at Php360 but it is rich in flavor and very satisfying. My husband orders only one thing from their menu - grilled Chicken Mediterranean Style. He always pairs is with buttered rice. There are other options if you don't like buttered rice. I also ordered Lemon Mint Juice which is lemonade with mint. Very refreshing. I ordered it with syrup on the side so I can control the sweetness. My hubby ordered mango shake which he enjoyed. I like that they keep their regular offerings and introduce seasonal dishes to keep the menu interesting.

This review is for Cafe Mediterranean in Rockwell, though I can say the same for the Greenbelt branch. I have been dining at Cafe Med for years and I still love it as much now as I did years ago. Tonight I got there ahead of my hubby so I ordered a cup of lentil soup and Shepherd's Salad - two of my usual starters (top left photo). I love the warmth and comfort of the lentil soup. The cup is just the right size to get me started on dinner. The soup is hot, thick and hearty. The flavor is great, too. The Shepherd's salad is also small which is perfect as an appetizer. It was served with a piece of pita bread. I told the waiter that I don't want the pita bread and he could take it away. He came back later with another cup of the salad. He said it's to replace the pita bread. Great customer service! Since the serving is small, I ate it, too! When my hubby arrived, he ordered the Grilled Chicken Meditteranean Style (top right). This is the only dish he orders here and he loves it. I ordered Chicken Doner Kebab (bottom left), diced grilled chicken stuffed into pita pockets with tomatoes, lettuce and onions, and topped with tzatziki. Bottom right photo will show that they don't scrimp on the chicken. The pita pockets are packed! This is a very filling dish on its own, and considering I had soup and two servings ofvthe Shepherd's salad, I couldn't finish my order. I had about two bitefuls left. The Doner Kebab is a newer addition to their menu, maybe about a year old, and it quickly became a favorite. Other favorites that I didn't order tonight include the appetizers - hummus, falafel, tzatziki, baba ghanoush, and olives. Sometimes I order their plate of three and pick three appetizers with whole wheat pita and that would be good for my main meal. I also love the Portobello Mushroom Burger, the Mediterranean Pasta and their pizzas. The prices are also reasonable.

Caught up with a good friend of mine in Rockwell. It was fun meeting such a hyper friend after a long long time! So we had Gyros. My friend ordered Beef while I got Chicken. It was good and bulky. Unlike other restaurants who gives a very thin and almost meatless Gyro.

Had only an hour to spare before class time but my friend convinced me to buy Cafe Med's gyro. I regret nothing!!!

At 145Php, the beef gyro was really yummy! (Topped with even awesome-er spicy garlic sauce) Plus they managed to serve it in under 5 minutes! Amazing or AMAZING? 128514

Definitely heading back to try all their other food. Also, the -1 star was only coz some parts of the beef were hard to chew but that was just like a real tiny portion. 128514128514

Just had lunch in Cafe Med this week with a my friend who lived in Saudi for quite a number of years. Recommended this to him since the food tastes good there and for him to somehow remember his previous home.

What i did not know is that apparently aside from the taste of the food being delicious, it was actually near the taste of the authentic food in Saudi. So thumbs up to Cafe Med for bringing justice to the Mediterranean cuisine!

We ordered Chicken Gyro and Moussaka. :) recommending to eat it with pita for a med experience. A little costly than my usual lunch but sometimes we gotta spoil ourselves once in a while. Haha!

Do try the hummus as well the next time you visit.

Don't have a lot to say about this place. I ordered the pollo panini, which was good. I'd probably go back if I was in the area, but wouldn't make a special trip for it. If there was a 3.5 star rating I'd probably give it that.

It was a Valentine's night and a Friday night plus the Payday for others, when everybody around went out for a date. Unfortunately, my date had an emergency at home so she needed to drive home as early as 18:00. Boo! Sad! Fail! (#iwanttodie lol), Nganga!? Lol. 128530

Instead of going home and face the super bitter dateless traffic, I just decided to invite some colleagues for dinner at Powerplant mall (the nearest mall from the office). People, or I would say couples were around the mall dating and most of restos were full.

Luckily, Café Mediterranean wasn't full and still have number of tables to occupy; so, we decided to just dine in here.

I got a Grilled Chicken Gyro with Basmati rice. We also had Hummus for appetizer. I can't remember all of my colleagues' orders.

Hummus comes with a single Pita bread, and the Hummus taste weird actually. I don't know, my first time to taste it, but not in a bad way. It was served cold and looked like a "kalburo" but it didn't smell bad.

Grilled Chicken Gyro was tasty but some parts were quite tough. The sides were okay but i loved the one on the left (I don't know what its called). It's also my first time to try Basmati rice so I have a single thought about it, that i should've stick to the buttered rice (instead of this). 128513 It's nothing remarkable maybe except for its grains that are obviously lengthy than a typical rice?

Service was great while the value for money was a little bit pricey though.
