On a hot summer day like this, nothing beats a refreshing Iced Winner Caramel Coffee to go with the Walnut Cheesecake. Good thing The Cake Club was here to stay. 128523

I am loving Cake Club's decadent and unusual new twist to the Ensaymada. They call it the Truffle Forest Mushroom Ensaymada.

Cake Club has been a fave place of mine for a number of their heavenly and indulgent unique pastries. Moreover, I have always been a fan and love their rich Regular Ensaymada and Ube Ensaymada. It was a pleasant foodie surprise to find their new twist.

The Truffle Forest Mushroom Ensaymada is a savory take on their Ensaymada specialty. The Ensaymada brioche maintains its nicely moist, fluffy, lightly dense texture with generous bits of chopped porcini that has been kneaded into the dough before baking. Glazed with a yummy thick creamy mix of whipped butter and grated cheese (yup, the cheese was whipped together with the butter), with just a tad bit of sweetness, a touch of cheesy saltiness/sharpness, a subtle kick of fresh cracked black pepper, and a light earthy essence of truffle oil. Further topped with porcini bits. Lightly savory, rich, earthy, and quite indulgent.

The savory bread pastry, perhaps is a deviant from the usual ensaymada pastry. But I'm loving how the earthy flavors of the mushrooms and the truffle essence decadently melds into this unique Ensaymada flavor. It perfectly paired with either a cup of good brewed coffee or a cup of good Tsokolate-eh.

Owing to the unique ingredients, a piece this yummy treat is priced on the expensive side (Php 250 a piece). But a serving is big, rich, and hearty which good enough to share or for some solo indulgent eating.

Cake Club's Truffle Forest Mushroom Ensaymada comes highly recommended to foodie who enjoy Ensaymada pastries, truffle lovers, and those who are willing to try this unique twist to this ubiquitous Filipino bread pastry.

Speed by the Cake Club for some merienda because I was curious about their ensaymada that supposedly was really good. And with a price like 125, it had better be good!

We were definitely not disappointed! The ensaymada was quite large, taking up the entire circumference of the saucer it was served on. It was served hot enough to have the butter, cheese and frosting ooze slowly of the top. The cheese was a good contrast to the sweetness of the sugar and ube filling. And the bun was firm, but soft... Sort off like if you could have al dente bread, this would be it.

Definitely will come back!

I just had to try the Frasier when I saw Kiko G's review. Easily one of my favorites at Cake Club! Even my friend who isn't into sweets likes it! 128523128077

Sweet is good but too much sweetness is just disgusting. This was too sweet. Well, the cookie at least. The filling may not be that sweet but it didn't make it any better. Even the strawberry tasted awful. Walang lasa, actually.

Some sweet tooth indulgence sampling fixes set of Cake Club's 3 best selling pastries- mini Cecilia, Deliz Chocola, and Cheesecake.

Cake club mini sampling set includes two cups of coffee and 6 pcs of three flavored mini cakes---all
for only 599 nett.

Cecilia- coco cream pie/upscale Buko pie with sultanas and big serving of whip+shaved dried coconuts--it reminded me of a cross between Sonja's coco loco and a good Buko pie. First read about this from Mike L's review and have been looking forward to try this pastry. Fancy Buko pie/tart indeed!

Baked cheese cake- tarty , creamy, rich, dense, nicely sweet cheese cake, crusted with toasted almond slivers, a nice buttery crust--not graham but works well, topped with a fresh blueberry. Loved this!

Delize Chocola--still my favorite. Layers of thinly sliced chocolate cake, with dark chocolate frosting and a thin crunchy chocolate wafer crust. Still reminds me of a dark chocolate Kitkat.

I liked that they offered this mini-trio treat. That way you get to sample their best sellers rather than be forced to get the regular serving size which costs 250. Besides, it comes with two cups of free coffee. Exquisite mini cakes+coffee, perfect sweet tooth indulgence.

Highly recommended to sweet tooth foodies or to foodies looking for some good satisfying servings of mini Cakes for tea time or dessert. Perfect for two.

My favorite cake is the super moist cake. But the cakes in this branch is not as good as the one in bgc. I've only tried it once in this branch. I don't know if the cakes they served were old, but it wasn't as good as the cakes in bgc.. The super moist cake wasn't moist at all.

For some reason, the staff gave me a less cold water this time. Haha! Good job!

Anyway, after my first superb experience with their cake, I came back to try their famous Ensaymada.

The bread was fluffy (but not too fluffy, just right amount of fluffiness for a bread), it was cheesy but not salty-cheesy (it has a balanced saltiness and sweetness, actually), at first, I thought the butter was too much but actually, it was too-much-good (it actually made the ensaymada more special), and of course, the little touch of ube is just so good (I'm glad that this didn't overpower the ensaymada. Super good!).

Unlike my first visit here, I've finished everything though the serving was big. 128077

So if this isn't the best ensaymada, what is?

You think buko pies are too low-brow for you? Enter the Cecilia - Cake Club's sossy version of the ubiquitous buko pie. Creamy without being overwhelmingly sweet. Yummy! 128523128523128523

It looks very Christmassy as well - perfect for the season!

I hate it when I can't finish a delish food just because I can't. 128557

Today was like a please-give-me-anything-sweet kind of day. I went to The Cake Club to add more sweetness to my life (lol). 128514128514 I had Le Royale and it was my kind of cake - a balanced bitterness and sweetness! It was made of dark chocolate mousse, almond meringue, and hazelnut crispy (like the Ferrero! So if you love Ferrero and dark chocolate, this one's for you!). It was really good. Huhu! I mean, I wasn't able to finish it because my throat was starting to hurt (I think because of the water swimming with ice the server gave me! 128557128557128557128557 Minus one 127775 tuloy!) and it's really frustrating! 128557 I had the remaining half for take out and it's still with me right now and it's just so tempting but my throat hurts every time I swallow and I don't want to wake up the next day with a "lola voice." 128117128546

Doubled-Baked Cheesecake! Yumminess! The tang of the citrus-flavored gelatin top complements the salty-and-sweet cheesecake, ensuring that you savor the richness of each bite without "umay". Their cakes are heaven-on-earth!

And the very friendly and accommodating server at this branch gave me a Cake Club Privilege Card prior to ordering, so that I could avail a 20% discount for my orders. Now THAT is excellent customer service!

Just had their Ensaimada and Baked Cheesecake. Well, of course the legendary ensaimada was good. The cheese ain't too tangy or too salty. The saltiness of the cheese was just enough to complement the sweetness of the butter and the dough. The bread itself was just of the right softness for me. It was soft yet dense that at times, you can't finish one on your own. The ube too was not overpowering. The combination and melding of the flavors and textures on this ensaimada is what made this pastry really good. The baked cheesecake on the other hand was exceptional. In terms of texture, it melts on your mouth and was airy yet dense. The sweetness was on the likeable level as well. The crust also just has the perfect texture and sweetnesa to complement the cheesecake itself. This is the real cheesecake you'd want to spend 4 digits on.

After reading Edwin I 's review of my favorite pastry place's new flavor, Deliz Chocola - I hurriedly went to make sure that they don't close on me. As expected from Cake Club, the chocolate taste is rich but not overwhelming and the sweetness just right!

Will try the other new pistachio cake pictured behind soon!

The Deliz Chocola. Cake Club's newest pastry offering. An exquisite chocolate cake layered with dark chocolate mousse, covered with rich smooth dark chocolate ganache, sprinkled with gold dust and a chocolate sheet. The base had a nice crunch from its sugar coated lightly crunchy-wafer like layer.

A rich dark chocolate dessert that wasn't overwhelming. Somewhat reminded me of a Dark Chocolate KitKat bar. Perfect with a cup of Cake Club's Grand Reserve coffee (8 types of roasted arabica beans with an intense yet aromatic flavor).

A must try for foodies who love chocolate pastries.

Cake Club's Diamond ensaymada -- cheat day mega-calorific indulgence. 1200 calories a pop 128561 (yup, official calorie count given by Diamond Hotel's pastry chef). Buttery, soft , rich, moist, cheesy ensaymada with creamy ube filling. Occasional indulgence indeed. We had the piece warmed and sliced.

I enjoyed this with a cup of their Kageboshi coffee. Mild acidic brew with slight hint of sweetness.

Coffee and dessert time on my cheat day! (In case you're wondering Ginny B lol)

My friends and I shared 2 cakes, Le Royale and another cake that I forgot the name (it's the beehive looking cake in the photo)

Le Royale- chocolate cake with mousse and crispy wafer like layer. Drool! If you love Ferrero chocolate like me, go try this cake out. It's the best! 128541

Beehive cake- pie crust with the dome filled with light whipped creme, prunes, and chestnut. It's yummy too and interesting.. but I'm not really a fan of chestnut's texture 128513

Iced coffee were delicious too!
