Okay, this was just an ugly experience. I hope that this is not always the case.

I came here for a really short meeting. I quickly ordered something small to eat since i don't plan to stay long. They have two cute triangular menu in which i only took time to look at the desserts menu. The place got two parts. I was at the outer part with the cafeteria feel.

The dayap cake immediately caught my attention sadly it was out of stock! The lukewarm server immediately referred me their cheesecake but i did not heed his advise. I ended up getting

128204 kahlua coffee cake @150php
The description says something like fluffy liquor-infused chiffon cake with butter icing. The presentation was ok as a normal cake. I like the striated icing design. Yun lang. but the moment my fork got in contact with the chiffon. Alam na. It was like a dishwashing sponge that hasn't been used fir days (alam mo yung abandoned dishwashing sponge sa isang zombie apocalypse movie?)

I already asked for the bill and paid it before the person im meeting with arrived. Thanks to the water they served the cake got a little hydrated. Oh, the first bite was the last bite. I totally abandoned that thing. It's desecration of chiffon cake at its finest! It did not taste any liquor at all. The icing tastes buttery at least.

I really hope this experience is rare. And i hope their supervisor does checking of the freshness of their cakes.

I'm not really a big fan of Chocolate Kiss. I've eaten here several times back in the day and I feel that the food was just so-so every time. Here's what we ordered:

CHOCOLATE KISS SUITE
2 orders:
1) devil's food, kahlua, carrot and prune cake
2) devil's food, kahlua, carrot and quezo cake
We were quite disappointed with their bestseller devil's food cake as it wasn't as moist as it should be. What we liked from the rest was the carrot cake. Hands down yummy.

CHICKEN QUESADILLA
This was another disappointment as it lacked flavor. The appearance looked inviting but the taste was just ordinary. The sour cream was plain bland. The only redeeming component was the salsa.

Althought the staff was attentive and the place warm, the food was disappointing. They need to up their game. Sayang.

We had their Kiss Suite (P120) for dessert. It's a good sampler of their cakes if you're not sure what to get or want to try different flavors. Their brewed coffee (P50) was just OK, is comes with a free refill. You can have it to-go so you can actually share one order for two. 128077

For today's lunch, we went to Chocolate Kiss inside the campus and had the following:

127852 Beef Salpicao: I felt sad eating this. I have a high standard for Chocolate Kiss' Salpicao but today's serving didn't quite cut it. The beef cuts were irregular, it's quite salty because of the soy sauce, and the veggies lack seasoning and simply looked sad.

127852 Sate Ayam with Nasi Goreng: in which the chicken didn't have peanut sauce! when we asked for it, one server said they don't have anymore. When we were almost finished, a small bowl of peanut sauce arrived. K.

127852 Garlic and Mushroom Spaghetti. The pasta was also sad, it's al dente but tastes dry. it has too many black olives and not enough chili. The grilled chicken tastes bland and boiled.
The only good food we ordered was the chocolate chip cheesecake which did not disappoint. However, it took them 45 minutes to give the bill to us, after three follow ups.

It's a bit sad because Chocolate Kiss has been a long-time favorite of mine, since college years, and lately, the food and the service are getting worse. 128543

Had their linguini margherita. Plus added some grilled fish #healthyliving. Again, we all know how I am a big fan of simple tomato based pasta.

To me, I found it just alright. It couldn't have been better... The tomatoes used were clearly local and not super soft or mushy like how I would like it. The fish was just alright. It was grilled dory topped with parmesan to be exact.

The serving size was pretty good. It was surely filling for me.

I also got a slice of their devil's food cake! Simply delicious! I love it. The marshmallow topping was addicting! Mmmmmm! I would surely go back for that cake! 127851127874

Wish they had wifi here though! Plus lighting was a bit dark so I couldn't get good shots of the food.

Staff service was alright. They were pretty attentive.

My first kiss… Okay, it was my second… with The Chocolate Kiss that is.

I still remember what I ordered when I first visited The Chocolate Kiss—their famous Devil’s Food Cake (slice: PHP70; whole: PHP700) with all of the gooey marshmallow goodness. It was really good. It deserves to be the café’s bestseller. Moist and flavorful yet you won’t easily get tired of it. It wasn’t very sweet either but still pleases the palate of a sugar-craving foodie.

Since I don’t like ordering the same thing twice, I ordered something different when I “accidentally” visited it last week (we were supposed to go on a picnic but Mother Nature was in a bad mood that day). I ordered Dayap Chiffon Cake (slice: PHP85; whole: PHP950) since the server told us that it is one of their best sellers. My friends ordered the Devil’s Food Cake and Carrot Cake (slice: PHP80; whole: PHP800).

Yey!!! The cakes have arrived. Happy… uh… day.

I was pretty disappointed that they did not serve the cakes nicely for picture taking purposes. Oh well… cake is still cake.

Now to taste the #2 (or was it #3?) best selling cake…

The Dayap Chiffon cake is… not something I will order again. I guess I am not fond of citrus cakes. It reminds me of cough syrup for some reason. Then again if you like dishes with a bit of tangy taste, then this is a must try.

The carrot cake on the other hand was nothing spectacular. It was moist and good but it is at par with the other carrot cakes I’ve tried before.

After having our desserts and on our way to have lunch (yes, we sometimes eat that way), I realized that I have never tried their savory dishes. I now have an instant reason to go back (and try the cheesecakes).

I love the place, it has an artistic ambiance in it. It's somber lighting matches well with its aesthetic paintings which gives you a wistful thinking of home, friends and family.

The food is very comforting. I love this Gamberi which is sautèed shrimps with tomatoes, garlic, green chili and olive oil, tossed with spaghetti.

I would also recommend their eggplant parmigiana and bottomless iced tea.

Today's lunch is brought to you by ChoKiss since it is near my workplace. Initially craving for Salpicao since my sister had it yesterday at Banapple lol but gave in to Dinuguan with rice (PhP 145.00) instead. It was okay, nothinh to rave about. My friends had a mushroom soup (PhP 90.00) which could be creamier and the Hickory Smoked Spareribs (PhP 230.00 w rice) which is a staple good food here 128523 for desserts we had a Kahlua Cake which is best with espresso. 9749️ for drinks, the iced tea is a must! 128077🏻

We were at Bahay ng Alumni at UNiversity of the Philippines Diliman campus for a work related event. When My colleagues found out, they told me to try this place called Chocolate Kiss. It is right beside the Bahay ng Alumni. They said try the cAkes, tea and savory dishes. It got me so excited that i dragged my friend to go with me to buy and take out the goodies. I opted to try their dessert line since I am a sugarholic and I was not hungry yet.

I bought a slice of the Devil's Cake. The chocolate cake was so- so, the cream filling was just ok. The cream on top was stiff enough but too sweet for my tastebuds. It's not that sinful to be called a Devil's Cake.

I also got a slice of their Carrot Cake. The cake itself is good, but the cream cheese icing is again too sweet, in fact, in every bite, you could feel the sugar granules in your mouth. For something that holds a little more nutrition than other cAkes, the sugar on the icing wiped away any health associated to carrot cakes.

Then I bought the Dayap Cake. My friend said it's not too sweet. It is well presented. I will try it later when i get home.

What caught my attention finally was their coco bread, also known as pan de coco. The bun appearance is interesting. The filling is so so, i would have preferred more filling in the inside. The bread itself was chewy, not the usual pan de coco. I cant say that this is the best pan de coco bread tasted though.

Overall review for me, with the three items tried and tasted, is ok lang. It's not a place i am looking forward to go back and try again.

Or maybe if i taste the dayap cake, my mind will change. I am hoping the dayap cake will blow me away!

The ambience of the place is cozy enough. The staff was a bit snobbish but attended to me when i called them.

The price of the cakes are reasonable enough.

If i should go back again, i would like to try their savory dishes and the tea. Maybe those will be better.

I've eaten here at the Chocolate Kiss so many times (with family and friends; after a class back in College, after jogging; for breakfast, lunch or dinner), and each moment brings back happy memories 128522

My usual order in this restaurant is their Carbonara, partnered with unlimited iced tea that's served with a small carafe of honey. Their iced tea has a very particular taste which I really love (and miss). I've also tasted their Devil's Food Cake and Chocolate Chip Cheesecake, which are a couple of their best desserts.

I remember an experience when a friend and I dined here, and there was someone playing the piano at the second floor. Very cozy and relaxing.

Another time, my family and I had coffee here and I ordered a cup of brewed coffee. It wasn't refillable as per the menu, but I still checked with the waiter if it's possible to have a second cup for free. Fortunately, he granted to serve me another complimentary cup 128513128077🏼

Service is good. Most of their staff are bulky guys who are generally pleasant to customers 128170🏼🙃

Where do I begin? THE GRILLED CHEESE SANDWICH - Oh boy, I'm still dreaming of that ooey, gooey, grilled cheese sandwich goodness! I can just order a dozen of those and call it a day. 128513 Seriously, they're SOOO GOOD!

The Hickory Smoked Ribs with Mashed Potatoes was my favorite! The meat was literally falling off the bones and the BBQ sauce was super tasty, a bit sweet, with some kick. The mash was smooth, creamy, and buttery. Just delicious! I will order this again when I come back.

I was a little disappointed by the quality of the Beef Rendang. It was hard around the edges and the meat was tough, but the flavor was good. As for their desserts, we tried the Date Walnut Cake, Kahlua Butter Cake, and the Carrot Cake.

The Date Walnut Cake was solid, but nothing special. The cake itself was a little too dense for me and I wish it was more soft and fluffy. The Date flavor was definitely there, though. The Kahlua Butter Cake was magical! The icing was not too sweet and the Kahlua flavor definitely came through. It's one of the best Kahlua-flavored cakes I've tasted. The Carrot Cake did not disappoint. It's light and moist inside with the perfect amount of cream cheese frosting.

The servers also have great knowledge of the entrees so if you come across anything that isn't familiar, don't hesitate to ask what it is. The ambiance is chill with a mix of younger, older, and family oriented groups dining within. This place is for any and everyone looking to have a awesome dining experience with many selections of food from different cuisines.

Cheers
Mickey

The desserts were too sweet for my liking, but then again I never had a sweet tooth.

Devil's food cake, carrot cake, and cake sampler in photo. All under P100 each. Sorry forgot what those four tiny pieces were.

Four stars 'cos it makes me so nostalgic coming here and I'm quite happy they're still standing strong after so many years. Quiet place, which makes it a great place to hang out.

I loved their Garlic and Mushroom pasta! It really tickled my tastebuds and makes me crave for more!

You should also try Devil's Food Cake! For 80 pesos, you get a big slice of the cake, and it will demonize you because you would forget your diet plan 128539128514128514

Used to go here after my night shift work. My bestfriend and I loooove their cheesecakes. My personal favorite is this chocolate chip cheesecake. I also had a full meal here several times and it's satisfactory naman. Price range is okay.. you get the value of your money. Downside is the place is always packed with people.. you can hear the chatter from the other table (But if that doesn't bother you, edi good 128513). Also, some staff are not approachable.. you have to repeat your request twice to different people.

It feels like home.

I think that's the best way to describe Chocolate Kiss or CK, as we Iskos and Iskas like to call it. For me, the food evokes wonderful college memories because taste, serving, and service is almost always consistent.

I ordered the Chicken Pesto Penne (one of the best pesto pasta dishes I've tried) and bottomless iced tea. To share, we got taco salad (better presentation than before, meat is not as spicy but still has that kick) and chocolate kiss suite (4 little squares of cakes of your choice).

Other must tries are the chicken kiev, salisbury steak, and eggplant parmigiana. Try also the Kahlua Butter Cake, one of my all time favorite desserts.

The place gets packed especially on Friday nights, lighting is dim, and tables are quite near each other but service is good. Waiters remember regular customers and chat them up and give good recommendations.
