Masarap na food sa presyong hindi OA

First off, the crew were very accommodating and nice. We had the seafood paella, cheese logs, squash soup, and buffalo wings. All were very good and still hot when served. The paella was really good. Definitely coming back!

I’ve been seeing this restaurant before along Luna Mencias in Mandaluyong. It is shortcut passage from San Juan leading to Shaw Blvd., my fastest route from Quezon City to Makati.

It caught my attention before as it transpired an inviting ambiance everytime I swing by the area. I never had a chance to try it in the past and to my surprise, they moved to a new location near my office!

The place is is a house converted to a cozy restuarant. The decorative pieces lives up to its sophisticated setting. Ordered the Herbed Chicken Salad with Basil Vinaigrette (P275), Wagyu Salpicao (P595), and Truffle Pasta (P325). Price is a little steep and food is not really over-the-top. I like the truffle penne pasta but not something I would rave about. The Salpicao is okay except the flavor does not matches my taste.

There is an available parking at the entrance. Staff is also sincerely accomodating.

Frazzled Cook is good for intimate dinners and they have a function rooms for private meetings. It is also ideal for celebratory occasions.

Tried wagyu salpicao. Very soft meat but bland. Regular salpicao at other restaurants tasted better.

Enjoyed the truffle pasta topped with a generous amount of bacon bits. Not a fan of the salpicao and sausage pizza. The meat was a bit sour for me and the cheese could be melted more haha grated cheese talaga eh. Then we had seafood paella which we did not finish because we were super carbo loaded na haha! Pero it was tasty and they didnt scrimped on the seafood. It would have been perfect if medyo natosta yung rice sa ilalim :D serving was a bit slow pero the place was full so understandable naman.

Went here on my partner's recommendation. Despite being a busy day we were promptly accommodated. +1 for great service crew coordination.

They have a slew of offerings but we decided to go with their best sellers: Cheese Stuffed Chili (or dynamite as they are better known), Herb Chicken Salad, and The BBQ Pork Ribs.

It didn't even take 7 minutes and we already had both the Chilis and Salad in front of us.

Great touch on the Chili as they already took the stalks off. So that means you can devour the entire stick without having to worry about the hard part - I know since I did it thrice! Not run off the mill or cheapo cheese here, which I greatly appreciate.

The Salad, although a bit on the small side, was very tasty. The grilled chicken is the highlight of this dish and it does not disappoint. Only thing I would mark down is for the usage of croutons - they could have utilized cucumbers or another vegetable instead of croutons.

The Ribs. I've had my fair share of this in other restos and I must say that their offering belongs in the upper echelon of the rib-world. Tender, flavorful, and lots of meat. Definitely worth it. If you're extra hungry this alone would fill you up.

Overall this initial visit was notable. I'll definitely come back to taste their other dishes. If you're in the QC Tomas Morato area, make sure to drop by and give them a visit.

In the recent months, food has played a significant part of everyday. From dining to survive, now dining as a passion. I am in a full journey to taste new and old restaurants.

Frazzled is both new and old. I remember years ago when I first tried their branch in Mandaluyong. Thats now a Tomas Morato branch.

I met one of the owners, bubbly Z on this sponsored trip. She took the time to share the history- the concept, design, people involved and their creativity. What really stuck was their antique chairs. Quite valuable and almost all different from one another.

This location was used to be owned by a family, it was an old home. It’s now transformed to a dynamic location for different families to gather and celebrate. They have three unique private rooms besides their spacious dining area.

Love the food! I had the pleasure to try five of their best selling dishes. Each one creating its own impressions. What you should order if you only had two picks- Sizzling Squid and Truffle Pasta. Unbelievable powerful flavors. The former served in delicious bite size pieces in sweet tangy sauce and the latter in its full creaminess. You will salivate before, during and after having these.

What I also found delightful was their Chicken Barbecue Salad. When most salads I found disappointing particularly on dressing quantity and quality, this one thrives. It also marries well with good marination and tender meat.

The Wagyu Salpicao was least favorite but still merits because the beef melts in your mouth. I would have loved it more with real garlic presence and saltiness.

Fan of Fried Chicken? They got that here. It was hard to pin point its peg from numerous comparisons out there. It does have a distinct character in it. I’ll say no more- this is my mystery dish for you.

Dinner with friends. Good thing i arrived early and was able to reserve. Waitlisted at #2 in line. Madali mapuno ang lugar especially weekends so you better reserve. We were 8 and we were assigned in their private room. Cool. Really cozy. The interior goes well with the theme as the interior seems like it's also frazzled-- in a good way. Downfall of this is we had a hard time calling the attention of the servers. So make sure if you're seated here, make use of every visit of the server haha.

128204128525 pork barbecue ribs @375PhP
I love the resounding barbecue flavor. It comes with veggies and mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes seemingly got a little mayonnaise in there but it was one of a kind. The meat was tender and

128204 slow-cooked pork ribs @450PhP
They got two ribs. This one got their "signature" sauce which is a little sweeter. I actually prefer the one above. Basing in the color. This one is the reddish one.

About their ribs. There's the shaft part. Then there's also the boney part which was hard to take off the meat. Ayoko mag sipsip. Lol.

128204128525 herbed chicken salad @275PhP
Basil vinaigrette FTW. It got mangoes--candied mangoes i thought they were atchara or gummy things. Lol. But the dressing was good! There's also this homemade croutons that was crispy and... oily. Twas good anyway.

128204128525 paella negra @635PhP for 5 pax
Really this one is good for more than five. Unlike others, na flat lang, this serving is rather plump and full. There's squid, mussels, shrimps, peas, capsicum, spam, and eggs. Waste nothing because there are no burnt rice or dry rice sticking in the pan. Squeeze in the lemon to taste. Compared to tittos, i think this one is rightly spiced. 128077🏼

128204128525 truffle pasta @515PhP family size
Ah. The most balanced truffle pasta that I've tasted. I still go for va bene though but this one is as irresistible as the previous. It got two kinds of pasta--penne and (swirl??!) hahaha! The. Bacon bits is abundant as well.

128204 key lime pie @145PhP
Ugh. What a waste of money. Whip cream like consistency of the allegedly called "pie" blech. Promise. Don't get this. I was dismayed when i saw the bright green color.

128204 pancake ala mode @195PhP
Frazzled was i. Pancake that's thick and got this muffin consistency. A scoop of ice cream made that special? Uhm. No. Haha. Yet it's their best seller?!

128204 vanilla crepe cake @225PhP
The best among the three desserts we got. It's kind of long. Weird. Haha it got 21 layers however it was a little hard. Parang luma. The best parin ang crepe amelie when it comes to crepe cake. Right Sandy P?!

We spend almost 3000PhP
It could have been a five if not for the desserts. Aww...
there's a clean CR for each gender. No wifi. Parking is excellent but because it's popular, you might park at the street side.

Vintage homes being converted into restaurants have been springing up in Timog and Tomas Morato areas. There are a number of them if you go in the Scout areas, you are sure to find 1 or 2 in every street. This may be the current trend and I'm not complaining. I could stay in this area forever and not repeat a single resto because of the wide variety of choices. Oh wait, wala nga palang forever, that's what everyone says. But for me, a single excellent gastronomic experience lasts in my fondest memories forever.

Dining in The Frazzled Cook is one delightful experience. From the structure alone, homey inside and out, a country home with carefully selected decors --- these are elements that will excite you, make you anticipate and wonder how the food would taste like. I was not disappointed at all.

My husband and I ordered the following in our first Frazzled Cook experience:

Truffle Pasta 128077128077128077128077128077
So rich and flavorful. It's one dish you'd want to eat slowly. The cream and truffle in generous proportions, topped with crispy bacon. Glorious!

Spicy Shrimp Pasta 128077128077128077128077128077
Olive oil, garlic, shrimps with chili that bites. The spaghetti noodles were really al dente. So simple yet extremely enjoyable.

Fish and chips 128077128077128077128077
What I loved about this piece was the fries. It has a salty-lemony flavor. It was interesting. It goes very well with the breaded fish.

Serving size was generous. But wow, we had no leftovers.

I'm happy that Filipinos continue to evolve and tap their creativity endlessly when it comes to food. The Frazzled Cook is one among the many of these fine restaurants that offer you to experience food, not just to fill you up but to make you remember that day when you had something good.

Having said all that, I'm definitely looking forward to get frazzled at The Frazzled Cook again.

Place was cute and cozy. I liked their food. Value for money is A+.

For the drinks we tried:
Cookies n' Cream Milkshake, Strawberry Milkshake, Ripe Mango Shake and Homemade Iced Tea - of course, mine was the cookies and cream cause nothing goes wrong with Oreo, always.

For starters we got - Onion Rings it was super cripsy and cooked to perfection.

For the main dish, we got 1) Tenderloin Steak 2) Pork BBQ Ribs 3) Grilled Pork Chops and 4) Peppered Salmon Steak - Everything tasted delish!!!!

I don't mind going back to try their other dishes. Tip: order their mashed potato for the sides - its da 128163

This is my kind of restaurant, it's like a house converted to a classy dining place with a lot of chambers inside, impressive interiors with all the chandeliers and different colors and designs per table and each chair.

The Frazzled Cook is like a hidden gem in the street of Morato. They serve all sorts of Italian-American dishes. So we ordered the Truffle Pasta, Herbed Chicken Salad, and Tenderloin and Sausage Pizza. We ate each one by one, and you know you like it when you keep talking about it, judging every flavor and ingredient like a pro.

First I had was pizza, coz the cheese just got me staring at it. The pizza was delicious, the flavor was balanced that it was not too much of one thing. The combination of the beef and the kesong puti worked well though I cannot remember tasting the sausage. Basically, it was good.

Next was the Herbed Chicken Salad. My, the croutons were so good! Thing is, the croutons turned golden brown, maybe because it absorbed too much vinaigrette? But it was delicious! The vinaigrette was a winner, and so was the chicken. The salad had these few simple ingredients but you can never go wrong with the right dressing.

Lastly and behold, the champion of the three, the uber creamy and flavorful Truffle Pasta won my heart and beat me off my pretentious diet. I'm out of words to explain how good it was that I might just leave you with this thought so you would try it for yourself.

Oh and yeah, the Mango Creme Brûlée was soft and light, good neutralizer, fine flavor to taste last after eating all the food we had.

I never really have thought so much about it, but good food makes a good day. It was only lunch time but I already knew my day was complete. 128523

This was one of my backlog posts and clearing it up before the start of 2017!

My last visit to Manila was a spontaneous drive to Tomas Morato and checking out new foodspots. Since my family haven't tried this place yet, I agreed.

We ordered my favorites (hihi, being entitled as the balikbayan, LOL!) – Gambas, Lengua and their Grilled Rosemary Chicken.

Sadly, the dishes weren't as great as how I used to remember it back in their first branch. Nonetheless, they were okay enough for comfort food close to homecooking, especially thr gambas & lengua.

Just always great being back home and enjoying the company of your loved ones. 10084

Some things are better the second time around...

This was the case for Frazzled Cook. There were notable changes from our first visit, including the fact that reservations are no longer necessary in order to dine in here. My other half found out from his co-workers, who just dropped by and were accommodated. So on a night he was craving for something truffle-y, we dropped by.

The hype has apparently died down. Don't get me wrong, they still have a lot of customers. But it's not as packed as it used to be. This comes with perks! It is easier to find a parking spot and the area is more passable in terms of traffic. The dining area is not as crowded and seating is more comfortable. Lastly the staff are more able to focus on their customers. They were attentive and patient! 128077🏻 They made sure that our requests were met in a timely fashion.

Our dinner started off with the cheese logs (think mozzarella sticks) which was great with beer. The truffle mushroom pasta made it to our table and it was executed well. Pasta was al dente and yummy. Lastly, we shared the tenderloin and sausage pizza. It has tenderloin and sausage- obviously- also bell peppers and kesong puti. I didn't find it worth the price. First off, it's a bit small; probably good for two. There were so many bell peppers on the pizza; the taste lingered even after I picked them off one by one. I think there was something missing to balance out the flavors. Well, I didn't like this pizza, but my fiancé thought it was okay. He also picked the peppers off his pizza btw.

Anyway, we enjoyed our dinner here. Much better experience during our revisit.

I've been curious about The Frazzled Cook since one of my friends in IG posted a picture of their food. So I asked my family to have dinner here last Saturday.

The restaurant was packed when we arrived. I had my name listed, and I was 4th in the wait list. After around 10 minutes, finally a table good for four. My sister really wanted to try their ribs so she ordered their Slowly Cooked Pork Ribs (450php). This is cooked for 4 hours and simmered in their signature style sauce. The pork was so tender and really flavorful. I loved that the bones were soft as well. I think not bad for its price. I ordered Paella Negra (375php good for 3 / 635php for 5). This is squid-ink rice topped with shrimps, sausages, and bell peppers. I found this too salty, however, squeezing some lemon in this balanced the taste. I'll have this again, next time!

I also ordered their Frazzled Sisig (225php). This is the usual pork sisig but with their special sauce. Not sure on what's in that, but the sisig tasted good. I loved that it's crunchy! 128541 Finally, we also had Peppered Salmon Steak (335php). I liked how this tasted but I think it was a bit overcooked. It's still juicy, though. The fries on the side were good too!

The service was slow that night, which is quite understandable as the restaurant was really full. I just hope they improve on that.

P.S. The place is really beautiful. There are a lot of IG-worthy spots. I'm not really sure, but for me it's like a big house transformed to be a restaurant. Well, if that's the case then they succeeded in making me feel homey. Happy tummy! 128541

Every Filipino loves food and are blessed to be good in the kitchen as well. In the past years many houses have been renovated and made into restaurants to give their clients a homey feel. And I always look forward to going to these kinds of restaurants.

So my food adventure with my friends brought us to FRAZZLED COOK in Quezon City. The place is not that big but food seemed to be good as I saw their parking space full and reservations was a must.

The interiors was lovely! How I wished I wanted to do the same thing to our humble abode. For starters,we ordered Fresh Green Salad with Vinegrette , then we had Spare Ribs with Fries , Spare Ribs with Mashed Potatoes , Mozarella Cheese Sticks and guess what…Paella Negra! Their Paella Negra was a bomb! Very tasty, just right for my tastebuds and a good hefty serving too! In fact we went home with a doggy bag.

Visit their place if you’re just around the area of Tomas Morato and Timog. I’m sure you will love it just like the way we all did.

Great interiors, not so expensive, food is ok. Almost 600php for 2. Depends on your choices. People are very accommodating. Although you have to come early on weekends, say for your dinner, or call early for reservations, because a lot of customers pile up after 6pm (lagi sila puno) 128517

This quaint shop is located conveniently in Tomas Morato. The interiors were an interesting shabby-chic motif.
True enough, food was very tasty. We ordered onion rings for appetizer and got pork chops and salmon with mango salsa for the main course.
Hmm, for the health conscious, the onion rings were just a tad too salty. We had the chef do something about it. Hehe. They replaced the whole lot! Thank you (: what they served next were really good onion rings. Not the best i've had though, but yeah, good enough.
The chops were really big and juicy. Value for your money right there!
I enjoyed the grilled salmon with mango salsa. I just wished they used salmon steak here and not salmon belly slices.

Overall, i'd give it 3 and a half stars. It could use better space ergonomics. I imagine how crowded this place can be and yet just enough space to move around.
Oh, and 1 more thing, since the servers use yellow aprons over black uniforms, next time i hope they make sure clients don't see the last served sauce in there. Or pen marks, and the like.
