Whenever I'm feeling under the weather, I try to have some soup. French Baker's Soup in a Bread Bowl is always my first option in times like this because of the big serving and the cream based soup is heavenly and filling. I'll definitely keep coming back for more-even when I'm not sick! Note, however, that the Ali Mall branch is a little warm but the staff is nice. 128522

Decided to have my late lunch at French Baker Ali Mall. This is actually located on the bridgeway going to SM Cubao. Its a nice location with booth tables where you can relax and dine while watching people inside and down below the street. I got the Hickory Spareribs which was fine as usual (no picture though as I wolfed it down quick), and I tried their Brewed Tchibo Coffee for the first time. It says on the menu that its European. I added milk and sweetener and it was a good coffee. I also liked their presentation -with the coffee, a glass of water, milk, sugar and a little free brownie on a small serving plate. Its cute. Kinda like how they do it in Japan, and maybe in Paris (haven't been there). It was a nice meal.

Didn't have breakfast and I went to Ali Mall for lunch (nearest mall from the ofc). I was so hungry, didn't really have the patience to walk around.. so I chose whatever it is I passed by first.

I order my "old" time favorite CHICKEN ALA KING and was disappointed with how it tasted now (have not eaten in TFB for years). The creamy sauce wasn't that creamy and buttery like it used to before. The salad's dressing wasn't that "terno" to the taste of my ala King but it was okay. So for this dish, i'd just have to give it a 6/10 as it didn't meet my expectations anymore. Taste was okay for me.

Now for the MEATY LASAGNA. The taste was okay. Not a fan of their sauce. It was too sweet for me. I like my pasta the Italian way..tomato'ish & tangy. The french bread was no longer crusty. It was cold and a little rubbery. I had to use my two hands to hold it steady to bite off a piece. And for that, i'd give it a 5/10.

Forgot the price for each dish. But I paid P437.00 for both dishes plus a glass of iced tea. 🙂

Whenever I go here it's always either the hickory spare ribs meal or Korean barbecue. Comes with free soup of the day. Their crepes are a good way to cap off the meal and I love taking out a piece of chocolate croissant.

French baker, from the very start, in my opinion has the best made croissants. They're able to fluff it well extending the crispiness in the outermost layer without getting it burned.

Their danishes are also good. Comes in blueberry, peach and red cherry in this stall.

I ordered their tuna turnover and lo, their tuna was so incredible. It isn't canned as some would do. The tuna filling was a bit salty- sour, you can taste that it was very well prepared--

The chocolate paltier (was that even right? Look at the picture above, one dipped in chocolate) was super sweet. It's like churros made super crispy like otap at the ends coated with brown sugar (or at least it's brown) on all sides, then dipped into milk chocolate... Have to watch my sugar intake though.. Hehe

Liked my cashiers also with their vibrant faces

The Hamburger Steak is delicious and filling. This is served with their complimentary soup and rice or roll. In this case, we chose rice. This does not come with a drink but still sulit for its 215 price.
