A one-of-its-kind all-day buffet restaurant in Baguio, The Kitchen should not be missed on your food itinerary. Located along Upper General Luna Road, The Kitchen is just easy to find. What I like most is their breakfast buffet because you get to have unlimited taho! Yes! When we currently visited the restaurant for The Other Bloggers' Food Crawl, they offered us their pan-seared duck breast and lamb steak, among others.

The Kitchen by Chef Cris, not to be mistaken by Manila's My Kitchen by Chef Chris, opened up its doors on June 22nd. Chef Cris is the proprietor of another establishment in Baguio--Bayleaf. And in The Kitchen, Chef Cris focuses on an all-day Filipino breakfast, but also have al-a-carte dishes ranging from various parts of the world, and house specialties such as the Duck in Adobo Sauce (₱260), which I will speak of in this review.
But before I begin, let me first start out by saying that Chef Cris is a great person. Walking in for the first time, I was lost, not knowing what to do, because I was there for the a-la-carte dishes, and not the breakfast buffet. When one of the servers saw the "lost" look on my face, they quickly sat me down and called Chef Cris to speak to me. She sat down with me and explained to me about her kitchen. And what topped it off, she even served me. How many proprietors would do that to their customers? Now back to the duck...
This was a delicious dish. Unfortunately, I only gave this three starts because there were some parts of the duck that were still tough. The drumsticks, however were very tender, fall from the bone. The sauce was sweet from the pineapple, and the salinity was perfect. The potatoes were cooked just right, and the quail eggs were a good addition to the dish. I love how the duck fat was rendered and mixed into the sauce, making it rich, savory and full of flavor. I've tried a few similar dishes. This is one, especially the taste, is up there with my favorites.
There are plenty more dishes here to be tasted, and I can't wait to try those soon.
