🦁 Located in Camp 6 along Kennon Road, the Lion's Head has been one of the enduring landmarks in the City of Pines since it was first unveiled in 1972.
I had seen a pic of my late father standing behind the lion's giant fangs during the 1980s, and the lion's appearance was different then. Since then I wished to see this landmark in person. And I did just recently! First time! Ung lion parang nagpa-makeover ah hehehehe.
The Lion's Head is a popular stop for tourists and motorists while they're taking a breather from going through Kennon Road's sharp curves. Locals take advantage of this by setting up souvenir shops for tourists who wish to buy different items that range from native delicacies to "walis tambo." There are pay restrooms too (I was amused by the signs there).
We also had strawberry taho there to warm our bellies in this particularly chilly morning.

Our last stop on our day 2 year end family trip at Baguio last December 30, 2017 before going back to Manila.
One of the famous tourist attraction when tourist comes to Baguio is the Lions 🦁 Head. This is located at camp 6 and measures about 40 feet high .
This Lion’s head will give you warm welcome after a chilling ride in steep in dizzying zigzag road of the Kenon Road. I heard that the lions head was carved by a famous Ifugao artist named Reynaldo Nanyac who was commissioned by the Lions Club.
When we went here , many tourists like us our taking turns to have a family photograph at the iconic Lions Head. It took us few minutes for other tourist to clear out so we could have a group photo .
More than a statue , the Lions head is a reminder to everyone that we should follow the leadership and traits of this king of the jungle proactively taking care of its pack without expecting anything in return , Roar 🦁
