The Lost Bread gained it's popularity and notoriety because of their out of this world milkshakes.  Yes,  they are the instigators of ze outrageous milkshakes.  Want some cotton candy on your milkshake?  No,  a brownie or a cookie perhaps?  That's what i mean by "outrageous"

TLB invaded Rockwell!  Yes,  the Maginhawa native will be at The Retail Lab at Power Plant til the end of ze month.  The odds are in my favor!

I decided to swing by Plant after my annual Cine Europa ritual.  A milkshake sounds like a good idea.  I am in dire need of comfort after my disappointing visit at Makasuntra.

As expected,  the menu is limited as this is only a Pop-Up Store.  They offer three milkshake variants,  two are chocolate based and the other is strawberry based.  I picked the latter as I am not a fan of chocolate (only the dark ones and the ones infused with mint and chili).

| The Carosel (Php 220).  This is the prettiest milkshake I've seen in my life.  The cotton candy on top sports a powder blue hue that adds a beautiful color contrast to the pink liquid.  The marshmallow thingy reminds me of a pinwheel for some reason.  Aesthetics aside,  the milkshake is mediocre.  The strawberry flavor is very subtle.  I think their proportions are off - too much whipped cream and less strawberry ice cream.

I felt a lil shortchanged for a substandard milkshake.  Yes,  the pricetag is tailored for Rockwell dwellers.

There were lots of dessert to choose from. We can't even choose at first haha! In the end both me and my friend tried their best sellers for milkshakes which is pop shake and carousel. The popshake has this chocolate icecream (the popsicle stick even has a liqmystick print LMAO) and lots of whipped cream so it's sweet and good for your sugar fix. There are also nuts which i liiiike. Carousel has this portion of cotton candy so if you like it really sweet, you can order this. The interior is nice and they even have a 2nd floor, but we werent allowed to sit upstairs because the seats downstairs aren't full. (Which is sad because i bet the ciew would be great upstairs and i can take the pic of the art on the wall but well..) I would love to go back to try their other desserts. Sweet tooth for lyf!!!! 🤘 the employees were also attentive, we were surprised because they noticed that we've used up our tissues and refilled it for us without us prompting them to. It was nice because i have already tried the lost bread stall at strEAT foodpark and having space and lots of seats and nice interior with good desserts? It might just make us come back for more haha!

PS: their restroom looks great and is clean as well, plus points yay

I got:

Grilled Cheese French Toast - 170
Cookie Jar - 260

The grilled cheese was so-so, tomato sauce was okay, the serving was very light for 170. The Cookie Jar was intense... #calories! The taste was nothing out of ordinary but the work done to make the drink photo-worthy was more than enough for the price. If you want instagrammable drinks that are actually good but less expensive, try the shakes at Kumori Cafe! 128523

All in all, the HQ is a great place to catch up with friends! 10084

Instagram-worthy shots! 128247

Aside from the cool dessert art, I also like the interior of the cafe. It is small but minimal design. I can imagine the place not so crowded, less people, and it would be a good place to hang around. 128524

With so many choices along Maginhawa plus the small spaces they have, we don't have actually a lot of choices 128517 We ended up trying this new place (5mons ago), the unique concept of how they served the milkshakes. Something unique and new is always a nice thing to try 128521

Settling down onto our table of 8, we glanced at the menu and surprisingly the milkshakes weren't that cheap 128549 ..we ended ordering 3 different kinds for sharing - Cookie Jar, Carousel and Bonfire (order of appearance in the photo)

For us, Cookie Jar and Carousel were super sweet. Lahat na ng katamisan nasa loob 127853127850127852 - sweet but just okay. I liked the most is BonFire. I like the big marshmallows 128522, the flavor was minimal, and sweetness level was lower compared to the first two.

Price is a bit overrated, a bit expensive for me (IMO).

Grades: 5 highest, 1 lowest:

Place:3.5.. The new place is way better than the older one but why is the noise seem to be uncontrollable? Also there is only one toilet for share. The queue can be disastrously long

Food 4 just right. Memorable and quirky. I think they should start looking for a new set of menu items as the current food items can just be an overnight sensation soon

Price N/A hehe! Libre Ng barks dang may bday eh

Service 3.5- few waiters vs too many customers. Food we ordered ended up on a wrong table ( haha! Forgivable since the crew were overwhelmed then)

We were going to have our dessert here after we had dinner at Westwood next door. Surprise, surprise. You would think that their milkshakes would not exceed 150 pesos? Nope. It was 295. Who would pay 300 pesos for a milkshake???? Overpriced.

We tried their french toast too. Meh. Not worth it. Never returning.

After a fulfilling dinner in Crazy Katsu, we immediately noticed this just across the street. We decided to check it out and learned that their still on soft opening.

I actually had no idea what they're serving so I browsed through looloo and found out that they introduced their specialty ice creams at StrEAT Maginhawa Food Park. Went through the reviews and quite convinced that it was a good place to try. And now they already have their HQ store, they added something more on the menu aside from serving ice creams.

We're actually aiming for the ice creams but we're still really full, so we opted for their french toast. But the server said it was not available that night, so we just tried the Maple-glazed hotcake. My friend and I decided to share the plate.

To be honest, it was just like a banana bread with cream cheese, cashew nuts and berries - and then that's it! I don't know! It's a miss for me, while my friend thought that it's good! For its price, not bad at all! But I didn't get to really like it. I let him finished the whole thing by the way.

I might go back to try their milkshake...maybe! But we'll see.

The lost bread had recently open their flagship store just the building across STREAT. This new branch is a lot bigger compared to their original inside STREAT. It got an industrial interior with mostly black and white theme. The place was jampacked and the aircondition wasn't enough to make the place cool enough. For the girls if you are wearing skirt avoid the 2nd floor bar table. Its a trap and most likely you'll get boso by people from the 1st floor. 128563

When we started ordering most of the item on the menu wasn't available. Icecream sundae and some of our initial choice for their milkshake wasn't available. So we settled for their craft soda and an order of Oreo Champorado. The berry craft soda was so so. The flavor of the berry was too strong when you take a sip. So I drunk it without the straw. The oreo champorado is something that I'll most likely skip next time. Champorado with white chocolate and crushed oreo. I love how bold they try to experiment but this one didn't work well.

Not sure but place seems to be all hype and their price was quite expensive especially for the milkshakes. I could also one table oversweet facial expression while drinking the carnival milkshake. This place will definitely be enjoyed the oversweettooth people and kids. But for me its a pass. 9786
