I am definitely not a South girl. I only go there to visit my aunt and occasionally visit ATC when it’s too hot in their lanai. However, I have been hearing a lot of good word about the restaurants in BF Homes and even those near my aunt’s place. Then N told me that he works for The Nest. After his sales talk, I was sold. Actually, the phrase “pesto stuffed salmon” was enough to convince me.

Two of my foodie friends and I agreed to have a mini South food trip to celebrate their birthdays. We all met at 9 a.m. along Pearl Drive in Ortigas and we were with a bunch of Korean kids who seem to be on their way to the beach. (Not our thing so we were not jealous at all.) After a quick breakfast, we were off.

After 30 minutes of driving, we made it to The Nest.

The place was practically empty with only two tables occupied. So we had all the freedom to take photos of the place. The view was spectacular!

It didn’t take us long to decide what to order. K ordered Pan Grilled Chicken and Garlic Steak (PHP380) while E went with the Salmon and Lapu-Lapu Duo (PHP670). I ordered Truffle Scented Tomato Basil Soup (PHP165) and Pesto Stuffed Salmon Steak (PHP575). I held back with the dessert as I felt shy since my two kuya/ahya/big brothers will pay for my meal. It made me wonder if I am now bound to treat them on my birth month.

First served was the soup.

It had a strong tomato taste and it was also a bit spicy that made me cough a bit. But it was light and great as an appetizer. I didn’t get to sniff the truffle though.

Next served were our dishes. After taking a few pictures of each plate, we started eating.
The pan grilled chicken was cooked well. It was tender and juicy. The strong taste of garlic made it so delectable. (Okay, I’m biased as I love garlic!)

The lapu-lapu in the Salmon and Lapu-Lapu duo was your usual lapu-lapu. Nothing special there. E didn’t give me some of his salmon because I ordered salmon as well.

My order though was love! I loved the generous stuffing and the salmon, though it was slightly hard on some parts was still juicy in the inside. (Okay, biased again as I prefer baked salmon.) I also loved the side vegetables.

Overall, we had a great lunch. Service was quick too. (Special mention to John who assisted us.)

We celebrated our 5th Anniversary at The Nest - Vivere Hotel. The boyf made a reservation beforehand.

The staff assisted us to our table which was overlooking. 128525 I can't help but smile the whole time. It was so perfect and breathtaking. Then we started ordering our food. We had Fried mozarella sticks for appetizer (P310) and Clam chowder (P315) which has a really unique presentation. The bread serves as the bowl of the soup and you can eat it as well! It's just of average, it lacks flavor though.

For the main menu, I ordered for Gambas and Chorizo Pasta (as their best seller for P495) and my bf ordered for Crispy Binagoongan (P530) The pasta was good though it's really very oily and so I didnt finish everything. The Binagoongan was good too! Very tasty and lots of bagoong. For the drinks, we have ordered Mango shake (P180)

For our dessert, we tried the Dessert sampler which has 3 best sellers - Mango Creme Bruleè, Salted Caramel Brownie with Bacon Ice cream and Frozen de Mercedez (P235) They also gave us a Happy Anniversary cake as a complimentary. 128525

Overall, I like their service, well accommodating staff, cozy music, and of course, the best part is the overlooking view! 128525

It's a very special day and they were able to make it extra special! 10084

Chose The Nest for our 1st Anniversary dinner mainly because of the ambiance, although the menu is quite pricey. The service is good and I like the house wine but the complimentary cocktail is eeww.. 🤗

Breakfast Buffet - an experience I will not soon forget neither regret going there, thou it was a bit of an inconvenience for me.

The ambience was prefect, definitely class A. Thou, improvements can be made at some of the parts. There were a few spots that was less maintained than the others. Better shading from the sunlight in their patio area. Since we were a big group we can only be seated outside.

The view was excellent, thou the only thing that ruined it was it was overlooking what seemed like the slums area. Thou it was mentioned the sun rise view is exquisite.

Service - SUPERB!! I would like to commend Gene with his excellent service and to please attitude. He always anticipated when we needed him. Even made us infused water, which we preferred to juice. MJ which cooked my omelet. KUDOS!!

Food - exquisite, loved everything. Not to mention their bacon was not burnt. Like the one from Bellvue.

The celebration (and (endless) eating) is not yet over. To end my aunt's birthday, we reserved a table here for dinner. I really like the vibe and feel of this place. So romantic and chill. The live band, the view, the pool. 128525128076🏼 You really go here for the place and not so much for the food. Most of the items in the menu are a bit pricey and not the yummiest 128517 but the place and service compensates for the lack of yumminess. 128518128523 This is a perfect place for date nights or special celebrations/occasions w your family, friends, or loved ones. 128513

Since we ate at Viking's for lunch we ordered "light" for dinner and decided to just share. One burger, pasta, and chicken fingers. The burger patty was not good, a little overcooked? It was too dry as well. The pasta was just okay. I remember enjoying this the first time I tried this but sadly, I didn't liked it as much as before. But still, serving size is still the same. Still generous! 128517 The cheapest and our favorite! Very sulit. Huge chicken fingers, fried perfectly, it's not too dry and still tasty and flavorful. Liked the honey mustard dip! 128077🏼 and yay for the complimentary birthday cake! Hihi 9786

Service was good, too. Our server was nice and very attentive.

Went here during lunch time and the place is almost empty, to post-celebrate my boyfriend's birthday and pre-celebrate Valentines.

Mozarella sticks - nothing special about the cheese and the bread but the marinara sauce was good.

Beef Salpicao - served with rice, beef was tender and flavorful. It was topped with garlic chips which I really loved because I'm a big garlic fan.

Pesto Stuffed Salmon - Salmon was perfectly cooked and was surprised how well it went with the pesto.

We got served with our appetizer and coffee 10 mins after seating and our main dishes arrived 20 mins after. I read some reviews that the service was slow for this restaurant, but I thought we had it pretty quick (pro'lly because there were only 3 other groups dining there with us). You don't just pay for the food, but also for the view, so prices are kind of steep. Our bill was around 1900 for 2 people.

Over all, it was a nice experience. Service was also good. Will definitely go back here, but only for special occassions.

What I really paid for here is this awesome view of the south. And the salted caramel brownie with bacon ice cream.

First off, I stumbled upon this place when looking for (1) great date places to celebrate relationship milestones, such as anniversary, and (2) dinner places with a great view. The Nest was on both lists. Apparently, a great view is essential for dates. Haha. Situated in the business district of Alabang, and 31 floors up Vivere Hotel, it gives you a scene much like in Makati, except less buildings, air pollution and traffic. I think that's a plus because you can really see the night sky and beautiful lights from nearby buildings and, of course, SLEX.

Interiors are elegant and they've set up dining tables by the candlelight. It poses a bit of a problem because there's a tendecy for the place to be too dark, contrary to their hotel lobby which is all white and full of light. Nevertheless, you've got a very attentive staff that can see, even in dim light, your hand raising for a request lol. 10% service charge.

Now, onto the food. I saw somewhere that it takes a while for the food to arrive, so I reserved a table (for fear of running out of space) and pre-ordered. The operator on the end of the line was very accommodating, explaining to me what the perfect cook is for steaks and what the difference is of each pasta and soup. Also, she voluntarily mentioned about their complimentary cake for birthdays and anniversaries, which I got, of course.

We had the Bistro Steak, medium-well, just the right tenderness and steak flavor. It has mashed potato and salad as sides. We also had Bolognese, which is a little undercooked (pasta is still hard) but saucy nonetheless. And the best part, dessert. SALTED CARAMEL BROWNIE WITH BACON ICE CREAM. Lovely. Just lovely.

And, of course, the complimentary cake with a "Happy Anniversary" message. I'd actually like commend our server for serving us this cake with a really big smile and a "Happy anniversary" greeting, even given our circumstances. So yay for non-judgmental people.

Overall, great experience and a satisfied couple haha.

The food was OK but for the price, the hype, and since its New Year's Day, we were greatly disappointed.

First off, they wouldn't seat us anywhere except at the bar since most of the place was reserved, but the tables weren't booked for another two hours or so. I had to ask a waitress to move us since the hostess wasn't accommodating.

Mussels Rockefeller: FIVE (5) pieces for 400 bucks. Nothing special.

Pesto Stuffed Salmon (600): you could barely taste the pesto.

Beef Salpicao (600): their "bestseller". The meat was soft and well-marinated in garlic, but as their go-to dish, it was more of a letdown than Lebron in last year's NBA Finals.

Had a beer and a cocktail right before dinner, which were unfortunately the high point of the meal. It was downhill from there.

And the view wasn't anything either.

I want my 2,500 back.

PS this review pulled your rating down by half a star 128127 you're welcome.

Never again! We pre ordered food (ordered place around 11:30am) since we're 17 pax with reservations at 12:30pm and the last pending food arrived at 2:00PM. 2.5 hours from pre order!!! They advised us to pre order bec food takes 45mins-1 hour which we did, but it seems like pre ordering did not make any difference. There were only 2 tables eating (our the second) and food still took more than 2 hours! Cant believe it, worst experience!

Given the relaxing ambiance, gorgeous city night skyline view, and entertaining, accommodating servers, The Nest at Vivere Hotel boasts an international and gastronomic menu that will make you want to try almost all of their dishes.

For the appetizers, their Mussels Rockefeller really left a mark on me. I've never been a fan of mussels and almost all other shellfishes. They look somehow scary and creepy to me so I was thinking twice if I should try these or not. But yeah, YOLO so you shouldn't miss anything.

After drizzling some lemon on top of the super cheesy mussels, I took half of it and goodness, I've been missing a lot because it really tasted so good! I tasted the freshness and saltiness of the mussel, paired so good with the milkiness of the cheese!

Aside from this newly found love for baked mussels, The Nest offers more items from their menu that I liked a lot - including the Pesto Stuffed Salmon Steak and their Salted Caramel Brownie Shake! 128077🏼

We dined in the sky last night and it was one of the nicest experiences that I had this weekend! 128077🏼

The Nest, found at the highest floor of Vivere Hotel offers such a beautiful and classy dining experience with the southern city lights overlooking view, perfect during the night setting that it has.

The contemporary and modern combination of the ambiance from its interiors to the decors and feel make the place so familiar yet new to its visitors.

The experience was made more personalized with the comforting music from the sax and drum partnership, playing familiar classic love songs that made the night even lovelier.

We ordered Oysters Rockefeller for appetizer. For the main dish, we had separate orders. Mine was the Salmon Stuffed Pesto Plate and goodness, it tastes so delicious!!!

The Salmon tasted so freshly cooked, smooth and soft once chewed, paired with the Pesto, it had that healthier taste that you'll surely love. On the side are cherry tomatoes, asparagus and corn that were cooked well too!

For desserts and drinks, try their Creme Brulee and Salted Caramel Brownie Milkshake. They both tasted so happily! 128156128155128154

Just recently, Anthony and I celebrated his birthday here. I've been here before but I was still in HS back then and this place was still Sky Lounge (?).

A week before his birthday, I already called to reserve for a table since I'll be going to Japan and I won't be able to reserve anymore. The staff was really nice and accommodated all my requests. I asked the table outside so we get a better view of the city. I also asked if they give anything for birthday celebrants and they gladly told me that yes they give complimentary cake! Yayyy 9786128588 The night before our reservation (and the day itself), they called again to confirm the reservation. It's nice that they really exert effort 128076

We arrived at the place 30mins before our reservation but they already accommodated us. They even let us chose our table since it's windy at the al fresco part.

Define hospitality at it's finest! 128076

We ordered the Pan Grilled Chicken and Garlic Steak, Greek Goddess Salad and Gambas & Chorizo pasta.

I was expecting complimentary bread since from the reviews I read, they were given. Hmmm 128527

The Greek Goddess salad was not sooo greek-y. Instead of feta cheese, ours had shaved parmesan cheese. There were generous serving of chicken and greens, though. The dressing was good with the right amount of citrus and sweetness.

The Gambas and Chorizo pasta was good but nothing special. There were 3 big pieces of perfectly cooked shrimps. I can taste the chorizo but can't find any, though. The flavor of the sauce was good and tasty but I kinda felt that there's something missing, a bit of spiciness, I guess. The pasta was cooked al dente.

The Pan Grilled Chicken was the best amongst the 3 orders we had. It was grilled right, still juicy and tender. It was very tasty and oh sooo yummy! 128076 I also love the grilled veggies. The only ingredient missing were the garlic? From the pictures I saw online, there were garlic chips. But we still loved the dish especially the sauce! Oh my goddd!!! 9786128077

Since it's his birthday, we were given a free chocolate cake slice. I don't know it's name but it was moist and gooooood! 128525 The band even played happy birthday to Anthony. We were expecting free cake but we didn't expected the singing part. 9786128076 Thank you, Guys! 128586

We really enjoyed our date night here. Awesome view, good food, excellent service = Perfect Night w the best-est boyfriend! Hihi 12810710084

My rating: 5/5 - cooked to perfection + the sauce was good
BF's rating: 3.5/5

My rating: 2/5 - unremarkable and forgettable
BF's rating: 2.5/5 - not a fan of the "tomato" taste in the sauce
