A lot of Italian restaurants are already in the country and making it easy for us to actually satisfy our cravings.

From the names of Italliani's to Bellini's to Amici and a whole lot more, Italian food is actually one of the cuisines closest to our hearts as Filipinos based on my observation.

Weeks from now, I visited The Old Spaghetti House at Katipunan with my Mama as we wanted to have some light snacks after doing some errands.

This branch of TOSH has been here since I was in college. Walking through the streets of Katipunan, I have noticed that it's actually quite old and needs some kind of refurbishment to make it look more attractive for guests and customers.

Upon entering, the lights are quite dim and needs more brightening to give the place more life and energy.

Just like other branches of The Old Spaghetti House, their furnitures are the usual chairs and tables that you usually find in old school house gardens -- round wooden tables with metal feet, patio looking chairs -- and some couches too, paired with wooden rectangular tables.

The Old Spaghetti House's menu has classic Italian dishes including salads, soups, a variety of pasta, pizzas, rice meals, shakes and some pastries, cakes and crepes for your cravings.

As we wanted some light, sweet items, we ordered their Speculoos Cookie Crepe and their Cookie Ala Mode (in the photo).

Both served simply, the items looked really usual at first but once you get to taste them, you'll know that tasting them is actually better than just looking at them.

The crepe smelled so good, was soft and freshly made. While it's hot, devour on it and make sure to taste the rich flavor of the cookie spread in it as a filling.

The cookie with ice cream never disappointed us. Served in the sizzling platter, the cookie was really crunchy and crispy, made a but softer by the chocolate syrup and the vanilla ice cream on top of it. You can tell the waiter not to heat it too long to avoid that hard texture. It's actually better when it's chewy.

The Old Spaghettti House is one Italian place that I consider classic. I just hope that they improve on their look quite more to make their restaurant more appealing.

Late post review.

TOSH means The Old Spaghetti House! I'm a fan of Tosh , usually we go to SM Marikina. This time we tried at Katipunan last month, it was a busy Saturday afternoon and we were in a hurry for my daughter Adelheid L review at AHEAD, it was few blocks away so we decided to eat here. It's our first time at this branch .

Glad there were not much people when we arrived so we got good seats. We were seated in a couch. We had there "Trio Treats"! For 800 pesos you've got appetizer basket (buffalo wings, onion rings and basket), spaghetti platter, pizza. Then we orders extra carbonara for Adelheid L. We chose pesto for pasta and 4 cheese pizza. The appetizer was so good , sulit and nakakabusog. Love their pasta and pizza too! Super sulit trip treats especially when your in group then of course nice ambiance. The service was a bit slow

I can't believe I'm reviewing this place for the first time, because it's the first time I've truly eaten in this place and got to appreciate what it has to offer.

I admit, TOSH can be a bit intimidating on the outside, but once you go inside, you'll realize there's no reason to hesitate. The food is so good and very much affordable. Nothing beats the old cafe style ambiance of this place too 128515

Me and my boyfriend decided to eat at TOSH to celebrate our monthsary (kilig!) and we ended up ordering the Trio meal, consisting of the 11" Pizza, an Appetizer Platter, Pasta and one Pitcher of iced tea. Please don't judge, we were really hungry! 128517

It cost about 800Php. That's pretty much affordable basing on the serving size and the quality of the food.

We should've chosen The Old Spaghetti House as our frequent tambay place when we were still reviewing for our board exams! Plus points for the free internet as well :)

We will be definitely be going back! May it be a simple brunch date or a fancy dinner date, I guess the Old Spaghetti House will be our next go-to restaurant. 128515

I used to go to The Old Spaghetti House not because of their pasta (which is ironic) but because of their rice dishes and desserts.

It was my nephew's christening and the reception was at TOSH. The pasta was okay and I liked the Fish fillet with Tartar Sauce.

I got their nacho with ground beef, salsa, and cheese sauce. How did it taste? Err...ordinary. The cheese sauce wasn't hot and thick enough. The chips may be crunchy but that's not good enough to enjoy nacho.

The Unlimited pasta is definitely sulit for P149. I liked that the place was also quiet, perfect for a mid week date with my friends. The maarte in me definitely gives a two thumbs up to their clean comfort room :)

Unli pasta for 149 pesos only! 128563 just add 50 pesos and you get unli pizza. Crazy price for a hefty amount of good food! Pasta sauce choices range from Pomodoro, Alfredo, Vietnamese Garlic(?) And Pesto! Pizzas are thin and flavors to choose from are 4 cheese, Pepperoni and Hawaiian.

Go here if you're really really hungry. Sulit na sulit. I really could not breath after the amount of pasta I devoured 128514128514

Pastalicious! Go for their aglio olio and pasta negra (squid ink). They also have a pizza roll filled with veggies. Their creamy carbonara is delicious too 128522

Colossal chocolate chip cookie FTW!! Served on a sizzling plate, drizzled with chocolate syrup and topped with vanilla ice cream! I drool. 128523 Can be eaten by yourself or shared with your closest gal pal giggling as you devour this guilt pleasure 9786 TOSH serves affordable and delicous food, my favorite meals being their salpicao and pomodoro pasta. I especially like how they made their interiors much brighter now. 128522

I have tried so many desserts with Speculoos Cookie Butter ever since it became popular here in our country. So far, my favorite dessert with Speculoos Cookie Butter is TOSH's Cookie Butter Pie.

It's like cheesecake but it's not that sour. It was creamy and delicious. I love it especially it wasn't that sweet. Definitely a must-try specifically for the sweet tooth out there. :)

"Old school is the new cool." This is what it said on its sign when TOSH temporarily closed for renovations and now that it's back, it's definitely newer, cooler and surprisingly youthfully true to its old school roots.:) TOSH is blooming now more than ever and it's not just the changes in exteriors, interiors, and decors.

Here are some "treasures waiting to be discovered":

1) Italian Sausage with Arugula Pasta - this is the one on the picture. Light and delightfully delish!128076 As you can see, the pasta is perfectly paired with a sunny side up egg--the egg is not actually included. I just asked for an extra because I tried their new BREAKFAST PASTA which has egg, bacon bits, and other yummy stuff in it but it's not on the menu YET ( should come out this month though, so I'm told) and I LOVED IT so much that I couldn't wait anymore.:)) So yeah, I attempted to recreate it and it's happiness on a platter. A definite good morning, no matter what time of the day.:)

2) Chili con Carne Pasta - 128077128077128077128077128077 if you love con Carne like I do, this is for youuu. Classic. Order it. It's a happy meal.

3) Italian Sausage and Vodka in Creamy Tomato Sauce - tastes expensive and that means it's really good. If you're critical with food and you're feeling high taste and picky (haha!) this might be the dish for you considering TOSH is very much affordable. Unlike other super expensive Italian restos with "okay" pastas, this is value for money and better than a lot I've tried before. Love the subtle vodka kick.128076

4) Chicken Florentine and Spaghetti Alfredo - noteworthy and recommendable.128077 Especially if you're a white sauce and wine lover.

5) Van Dough Artisan Cookies! This is probably TOSH's biggest addition. They now have a line of really good cookies which I love because aside from Mrs. field's which is way overpriced, there aren't other brands that sell good cookies around but thanks to Van Dough, we now have more options!

- Gluten Free Flourless Double Chocolate Chip Cookie128076128076128076 (healthier alternative without sacrificing that chooey chocolatey taste I love so much)

- Banana Walnut and Oatmeal Choco Chip 128077128077128077 I loooooove banana cake and if you like banana cake/loaf too, this is for us.:)) Addicting.

- Lace Cookies 128147 it's so hard to find good lace cookies but I've found a winner! 128077128077128077

- Bacon Maple Chocolate Chip Cookie - this was the most interesting among the four I tried. It tasted quite damp but surprisingly I didn't mind cause it tasted like pancakes! Like a pancake cookie.:)) And I love pancakes. Not sure if that was what they were going for but hey, worked for me at least.:))

Tip: Always have the cookies heated. Tastes wayyyy better especially if you eat them the next day (every cookie lover would know they taste best on the first but no fear, reheat and keep that freshly baked goodness.) Hooray!127881

I would say that the best thing about this place is its ambiance. In other words, it's great for dates and also casual dining. The price is just right for the food and the staff are helpful too.

The Cookie Butter craze isn't over!! TOSH just launched its new line of cookie butter delights including CB pie, CB milkshake and CB crepe!

I got to try the crepe and had a spoonful of the Cookie Butter pie that my friend ordered. The crepe had mangoes in crepe with CB caramelized syrup + vanilla ice cream on top. The mangoes weren't ripe enough. Really sad how they failed to check the ingredients first before making them. Tsk tsk tsk. The syrup was really good tho! A bit sweet for me, but I liked how subtle the Cookie Butter is with it. The CB pie is a different story, kind of a mousse with a graham crust? Can't give much info about it cause I only got a spoonful. Lol. 128514 But let me tell you, the plate is then times the size of the pie!

Aside from affordability, ambience of TOSH makes one settling in an idyll state of homeliness. Always innovating its food offerings, I sometimes think it's a budget friendly version of the Italian restaurants in the metro.

Definitely a must visit :) I've passed this place multiple times without entering for about a year and a half, but don't let it's quaint and simple front fool you. I've tasted the best Carbonara here! I get it all the time since I love it so much. I've also tried pasta from my friends' plates and it's also more than satisfying :)

Service here is great and met with a smile. It doesn't take long for your food to be cooked.. I once visited for a quick take out when the restaurant was full. Got my order in less than 10 minutes! :) I also liked the ambiance. Modest and dimly lighted, a lovely venue for a romantic lunch/ dinner if it's not already crowded.

They should put more variety in the music they play though. I've been there multiple times and I end up getting tired of the same songs they play over and over again.

TOSH's mozzarella sticks are made of WIN! Some restaurants don't use real mozzarella for their "mozzarella sticks" (though I don't recall any specific ones), so big plus for TOSH 128516

Their ambience is also something to love, with the brick walls, rusticly painted wood, and music that isn't obnoxiously loud.

Mmm, mozzarella sticks.
