On our way to Tagaytay last July 22 (Friday) , I noticed that there was the famous "The Original Buko Pie Bakeshop" opened , a new branch along Sta.Rosa Tagaytay Road in Caltex Gasoline Station. We are a fan of their Buko pie since I was a kid, I remember when I was a kid, I always buy it during field trip every time we have stop over in Los Baños Laguna.

So the following this when we were about to go home, we were in a hurry but because hubby was craving for Buko pie we delayed our appointment just for the Buko pie. We waited 25 minutes and viola we got our two boxes of Buko Pie!

Each box was fresh and hot, cost only 170 pesos then we got espasol for 50 pesos only. They sell pineapple pie too for only 170 pesos. The staffs are very accommodating .

Nothing can beat the Original 128077

BEST. BUKO. PIE. IN. TOWN. 128077128077128077128077128077*infinite thumbs up*

Our company driver took us to Los Banos from Calamba just to get us the best buko pie, Laguna has to offer.

You can easily spot this store because it's near national highway road plus people and cars are in line just to get the freshly cooked buko pie!

I hurriedly bite into it and my tongue got burnt. 128529 That's the only downside guise. Hahaha

They use young buko (mga 9years old) 1285149996️ that's why it tastes fresh and thin crust, so even though you're in Manila already, it is still hot and yummy128076

Boo I didn't take a photo of it.

Price range Php 170 per box

Someone gave us a box of Tropical Pie a couple of weeks ago. At first, I found it weird when they told me it has coconut and pineapple filling. 127796127821 But once I started eating it, it was delicious!! 128513 They didn't scrimp on the coconut meat and pineapples. The sweet filling complemented the salty crust so well. A nice and refreshing twist to your typical buko pie. 128522

I second the motion to Em D's post! First time to try it and I still prefer Rowena's buko pie or tart. Just want to share a story about Colette's buko pie. Once upon a time, during my college days, we are doing papers about Colette's buko pie so part of it is to go inside one of their branches and check how they process it. Guess what? Freshly cooked buko pies all over the place and more langaw all over the place!! As in nakadapo sa mga buko pie!!! Since then no more Colette's for me.

Going back, I think the original buko pie bakeshop is for diabetics. I want my buko pie sweet too!! Something in common Em D 128055128055128055

Well who would've thought I'd actually give Jairus d credit for this one?? Fresh from Laguna talaga! 128514

After visiting the houses of Segunda Katigbak (Rizal's first 10084), Paciano Rizal (Rizal's big bro) and the Rizal family's beautiful big house for our Rizal course, we got boxes of Laguna's famous buko pies! 128523 We actually didn't go down to buy buko pies (to save time, our tour guide told us to just list our orders down so they could get it while we were exploring the Rizal house) so I have nothing to say about the place. Hehe.

Decided to buy 2 boxes since a box is just PHP 160. 128552 When we finally got back to Manila, I decided to open it in the car since I was so hungry already. I was so frustrated when I saw how they didn't slice it beforehand.. What was up with that.. Was I supposed to eat it whole??? 128530 I still managed to have some buko pie though thanks to the tongue depressors in the car.. 128069 Anyway, it was ok. I think I still prefer Colette's buko pie.. #nohating #pls I guess it just wasn't for me.. I expected it to be sweet but it just wasnt.. 128533 The buko tasted really good though. I don't even like buko. 128513

Of course I'll submit a review on their first branch! 128513

This is where I always get my boxes of buko pie. Waaaay better than the buko pies you'll see around the streets of Los Baños & Calamba. No cornstarch or artificial flavorings, just yummy crispy crust with tender thick slices of buko. Just look at the picture and see the hordes of people lining up for their buko pie. 128526

This is sooo good that way back, Imelda Marcos needed to drop by their bakeshop to get her own doze of buko pie via helicopter! Talk about cray!128561

Aside from Buko pie, they also have the following:

Buko Apple Pie, Apple Pie, Pineapple Pie, Tropical Pie, Cassava cake, Banana Bread, Prune Bread, Carrot Bread, Blueberry Cheesecake, Brownies, Chocolate Chips & Crinkles, Mango Squares, Oatmeal Raisin, Prune Bar, Peaches & Cream, Espasol, Chocolate Mousse and more! 128077128077128077
