Review for The Pantry's Grab and Go: It's been years since I last visited Dusit Thani. Three years if I recall when my family had our Holiday staycation. So the newly revamped all dining restaurant The Pantry is something new for me to try. For this visit, I was asked to buy some bread for dinner and since I was a few steps away from the property I decided to give them a try. Before the revamp, I recall their baked breads are not hotel quality notably the ensaymadas - it was so 'nakakadala'. It was like pandesal topped with butter and store bought block of cheese. So I was quite hestitant when I gave them another try by buying the Large Ube Ensaymada - to my surprise, it was good.

Priced at 225pesos, the platter sized bread is topped with thinly grated cheese and a dallop of ube. When sliced, you can see the layers of ube alternating with the bread. The butter can be more given the size. The bread was no longer the pandesal texture of the past - it vastly improved but still a few notches away from the silkiness of The Cake Club of Diamond Hotel or The Pastry Corner of Bellevue Manila. Warm it up before consuming.

Expect your bread be handled haphazardly and placed in a thin brown bag unlike most Hotel establishments. Service was quick but lacked charm and warmth which is a must for a Dusit Thani property. Still recommended.

I hope next time I could get to try The Pantry's Buffet Dining, since they moved to a new area within Dusit, with a revamp of their interiors... Smartly done!

But anyway, me and my friends were looking for a nightcap area and tried checking out The Pantry...looking over their confectionery, we were torn by the wide selection of sweetful delights... So we chose 4 eyecatching cakes that would match our coffee, hot choco's and teas....

We got the Cheesebread, which had fairly large chunks of cheese within the coated bun.... Passionfruit Cake which had a kind of white choco base, Chocolate Cake which had these decorative choco strips and the decadent choco cake itself fused with layers of caramel 12852210084️ and this eyecatching Strawberry Cheescake which has this red domelike shell ;)

So far, all of the cakes tasted good 128522127864128077🏻128556upon crossing over each of the other chosen cakes....presentation is good as well, 12852210084127926 the place is newly renovated so overall, we had a great nightcap experience at The Pantry

The lechon was really good but that was about it. I like the look and ambiance of the place.

Love their interior! Very chic and modern!
As for the food, I'm not that satisfied. . The variety of food choices are limited. Mostly Filipino and Indian cuisine only.
Crabs are not that fresh and the lechon balat is not crunchy. Ginataan consists of bilo-bilo and sago only and super sweet! But in fairness, i love their churros!!
Chilled juices are included in their buffet but their dalandan juice didn't taste like dalandan..it has a bland taste.
Overall, this place is just ok. Love their interior but not its food..

It was my first time to try The Pantry's buffet since their renovation (we were here last year too) So my former officemates and I set our dinner date here to avail the discount because one of them is a cardholder of Dusit. The restaurant is better than the old one because if my memory serves me right, ang sikip ng area nila before. Now it has bigger and fresher look. However, they have limited food selection. I can't believe that they didn't have Japanese station when went there! Que horror! I was actually looking forward for those delicious sashimi and beef teppan :(
Anyway, their delicious ribs compensated for what was not there. Tender and flavorful. My friends raved about the lamb but since I'm not a fan, I didn't bother. Lol. They have ramen and indian station too. Again, I didn't find anything appealing to my taste so I didn't try any of it. Dessert station is better. They've got a lot of yummy sweets plus the presentation is excellent. They have pastries, ice creams, churros and even chocolate-dipped strawberries!

Overall, I wouldn't recommend this pa din. I find it expensive considering the food choices. There are other hotels who can offer better food at the same price. :)

After the sumptuous dinner I had to go home to reality - but I knew my friend was still hanging around Glorietta trying to get a ride home. I then invited her to wait out the demand for Uber and Grab and have coffee or drinks somewhere nearby. We ended up at Dusit's The Pantry.

With the late hour only the a la carte menu was available. There were still a few occupied tables as I think it closes really late.

Finally my friend and I chose the following:

127828 Three bacon-angus sliders - it took a loooong time to get this order to us, that I got my appetite back and almost ordered another snack!  The combination was ok. Pero nakakabitin.

9749️ Brewed coffee - we wanted a pot of French-pressed coffee para tipid sana. But there's no such thing on their menu, and they only had the vittoria coffee which I already mentioned in my last review. Basta overpriced. Well, hotel pricing.

127863 Cosmopolitan - I wanted a little more buzz, so I asked for a recommendation and this was it. Pwede na. I got really sleepy after. Luckily I live nearby, or else I'd have given in to the sandman and got a room there hahahaha

The place was really peaceful at the late hour, and not that it's an excuse, but consider that service staff can be quite tired by this time, to account for the kinda slow service. Still a good place to wind down.

Seriously, who wouldn't love a free hotel breakfast buffet? Unless it was almost crappy, which Dusit is definitely not.

It's been some time since I've dined at Dusit, and I was pleasantly surprised to see that they remodeled the first floor cafe into The Pantry. It was a bright spot in a kinda dark lobby.

Since my colleague and I had lots more time to spare, we decided to indulge and go all out bondat for breakfast. I only missed the relative silence of the Sky Lounge, but the food is much better at The Pantry kahit walang eggs ben. There are more choices for cereals, for goodness' sake.

I loved the cold cuts (more salmon! more cheese!) and the grilled tomato, while my colleague loved the Christmas ham and the various chocolate breads and pastries.

My only gripe is the coffee I ordered while waiting was seriously more expensive than the box of truffles I got for a friend. Dahil ba Vittoria? I don't even know the brand 128542
