New World Manila Bay or formerly known as Hyatt Hotel and Casino has this little pastry shop named Pastry Boutique. Since my office is just righy beside them (also a part of the same building), it has always been a struggle to resist their tempting pastries. For the last five years, I have spent a lot on their cakes and even chocolates (Sorry thighs, sorry hips and sorry tummy).

Last week while I was on my way to Robinsons Ermita, which is just a block away from this hotel, I passed by this shop again and noticed these beautiful thing on a tray. I immediately knew that it's a new offer from Pastry Boutique. However, I wasn't sure if those were cakes or something else. So when I got back from the mall, I went straight inside the store and asked the lady about that.

DONUTS. They are donuts.

My curiosity was fed even more when she said that it got filling inside and they have used only the best ingredients. I was so stuck by the idea of a pretty donut oozing with filling so I hurriedly bought two. It was kinda hard to choose among the flavors because all of them looks good. They have Milk Choco, Blueberry, Vanilla, Caramel and Nutella. I chose Nutella and Caramel. I asked the miss if I can just pay for it and then pick it up in the evening before I go home. Luckily, she agreed.

Fast forward to the taste test for the two. The bread itself tasted ordinary. Like Krispy Kreme but thicker and bigger. However it's a different story for the filling. Caramel tasted heaven. It was like creamy yema inside. Nutella, well, you know how Nutella tastes like and it's rare to find people who don't go gaga over Nutella, right? By the way, there's a little tube stuck on top of the donut. It is filled with caramel/nutella, your choice if you want to squeeze it inside the donut or inside your mouth. Haha!

The price is a bit expensive though. P145 for each. For those who got sweet tooth, you may splurge a little and try it. But if you"re not a fan, you can skip it and just try for their other products. They have a good selection of cakes and my all-time favorite is their truffle something -- I forgot the name plus the mango pavlova. They also have breads and chocolates.

Tip: you can buy breads and a slice of their cake for 50% off and whole cakes for 30% off everynight 8pm-10pm. Quite a steal!

Deliciously smooth, decadent, and rich. Sadly, these pralines are not mine. They were given to an officemate by his client who annually showers him with a huge gift basket from Hyatt's Pastry Boutique. Every Christmas, the entire office waits for the beautiful gift basket. Fortunately, Richie R is a kind and generous soul. Gunning for the big chocolate boot in his gift basket.128521
