Kakaumay yung pork belly with kimchi, not enough tartness to overcome the belly and raw egg. I really wanted to like it, sad. The papadums we're sooo oily and the dips weren't very good. My husbands pork canneloni was still cold when they served it so it was probably frozen. The only two that we liked were the squash soup and their grilled porkchops. They served fried pickles without any dips, had to ask for ketchup. 1500 for all these dishes, ok lang pero di na babalik.

Our last, but definitely my favourite stop during a foodcrawl in Nuvali! This innovative and casual restaurant is actually the sister company of the more established Black Pig Bar in Alabang - "younger" but going places as well.

There were a handful of noteworthy dishes and offerings at the Pigpen, but a few standouts are: the chiller full of local IPA beers, the fruity sangria (which i looooved), Indian papadom nachos with beef and carnitas, and the tamarind chicken. Everything was well thought of, balanced, and bursting with flavour.

Definitely a place i would frequent if it were closer to home.

For hubby's birthday we went on an impromptu field trip down south and stumbled upon The Pig Pen.

On the table
🔹Muffaleta - this sandwich had a bunch of things that weren't familiar but once I saw the words salami, cheese and olives I was sold. I liked the combination of the different elements. I wish we ordered a bigger portion.
🔹Spaghetti Bolognese - noodles for long life. That's it. We weren't moved by the flavors of this dish.
🔹Chicken Mole - we were feeling adventurous and went with the chicken sandwich with dark chocolate sauce and spices. We had to force ourselves to devour this.

We were more impressed with the magazine style menu, the food photos and the pig motif which was evident throughout the restaurant. I used to collect pigs when I was much younger. If we ever find ourselves back here, we would probably try their rice dishes instead.

The Pig Pen Cafe / Takeaway is probably my new favorite restaurant in the south. Tucked in the heart of Solenad in Nuvali, it's only a 30-minute drive away from Alabang if you take the Eton City exit.

I’ve already eaten here thrice— a new dish for every new day— and we kept on going back for a number of reasons. Not only is the restaurant’s ambience inviting and cozy, and the staff’s service excellent, but the quality of the food exceeds our expectations everytime.

The Pig Pen Cafe / Takeaway is perfect for relaxed brunch dates on weekends or a chill night out with friends. Prices are reasonable, if not affordable, given the quality and serving size of their food. The restaurant’s open chiller also has a diverse selection of Filipino craft beers, imported sodas, and fresh juices. Don't forget to ask the waiter about their featured tap beer of the day because, who knows, he might give you a free shot!

I'm definitely looking forward to taste their other offerings on my next visit. I also heard their locally-blended coffees are roasted by Yardstick in Makati, so that’s worth a try!

Here’s what we’ve tried so far:

•Pork Belly Kimchi (Php 240) - slow-cooked, juicy slices of pork belly with a side of flavorful kimchi

•Butifarra (Catalan Sausage) (Php 320) - authentic Spanish specialty sausage, seasoned like a local favorite - added egg for Php 30

•Pulled Pork Canneloni (Php 250) - baked tubes of fresh pasta filled with slow-cooked pulled pork topped with edamame and cherry tomatoes and smothered with creamy carbonara sauce

•Muffaletta (Quarter Php 200 / Half Php 380 / Whole 750) - The Pig Pen Cafe’s version of a New Orleans favorite, with salami, Mortadella, Provolone cheese, and olive salad

•Pig Pen Burger (Regular Php 310 / Double 520) - 40% ribeye, 40% chuckeye, 20% bone marrow

•Fresh fruit juice of the day (Php 150) - apple, carrot, orange

Promising new restaurant in Solenad 3. We went here when it was still on soft opening.

Tried the Chicken mole (mo-leh). It's a mix of flavors which I can't exactly describe... but have to say that it was delicious!!

Iced tea was too sweet.

We'll be back again here to try the other dishes and probably hubby will try the craft beers too.

We spent the Valentine weekend in Seda Hotel and for dinner, we wanted to eat somewhere that doesn't have a branch in Megamall 128514 we we're attracted by the restaurant's industrial theme and decided to dine in here. It was the first time I saw the restaurant so I didn't have any expectations-- and we ended up loving it here!!!

Chicken Mole Rice - its fried chicken fillet over rice that has a curry flavor and dark chocolate mix. Lol I have the worst description but I swear its good!

Calamari and Chips - not your ordinary boring calamares. The batter itself was flavorful, the squid tender, and the fries were crispy. The mayo garlic sauce sealed the deal 128077

European Salad - its also good, but not for a repeat order.

Staff were friendly and attentive to customers. Would definitely eat here again if I visit south.128076
