Feeling bored at home on a Saturday afternoon so I decided to invite my friends Patrick V, Mark B & Christian D. (let's assume he has a |ooloo account too, lol) to go out with me and try Fat Daddy's in Marikina. Unfortunately, it was raining really hard in Marikina when we did a rain check, literally. So we had to change our plans on the actual spot where we were all set and geared up. The idea of going back to Maginhawa was echoed by Patrick and thought it wasn't a bad idea after all.

We had our first stop at The Pilgrim, as suggested by my friend Jayson J. The place is really small and could only accommodate maybe 20-25 people. It's not even that spacious though; so if you're going with a big group, better call them for reservation or maybe consider other places where you can move freely.

Talkin' 'bout the food, we had Sausage & Bacon in Aglio E Olio Sauce (Php185), Teriyaki-Glazed Porkchop (Php195), Yakiniku Beef Bulgogi in Kimchi rice (Php225) & Baby Back Ribs by Mr. T. (Php380).

Sausage & Bacon in Aglio E Olio Sauce - Mark had this dish and it was good. He said it's too oily while I thought it was good as it is. The taste was a bit bland though.

Teriyaki-Glazed Porkchop - Patrick had this and thought it was good too. A different take on porkchop which I found interesting. The meat was a little dry though.

Yakiniku Beef Bulgogi in Kimchi rice - Christian had this and it was really good. The meat was tender and flavorful. While he's expecting it to be really spicy, it was just fairly spicy which I think wasn't that bad! The kimchi rice that comes with it was delicious too. But nonetheless, a good one!

Baby Back Ribs by Mr. T - Does Mr. T means Mr. Tender? If so, then they definitely got it all right! Tender and fall-of-the-bone goodness that will surely delight your palate. The potato wedges and the salad were good too, and the serving was generous. This one's good for 2 people, in my opinion.

Overall, the food was good although we felt like some could still be improved. The service had been good and waiting time was tolerable. Giving this place a 4-star rating for the food and the service.

Small place. Bring patience for the long wait. The only thing good in their menu is their ribs. 128077

#loolooandroidreview naman

So i heard this newly opened restos at maginhawa and we quickly went there to try!

The pilgrim is a small place. We nearly occupied all during that time. We were 15. And definitely not a good idea if you surprise them a visit with that number. And so as expected the service went super slow until all of us were served... Around 2 hours? Haha ikr. Some orders were changed as they were not prepared for us. The ventilation is so poor. You'll be smelling grilled after you eat here.

Anyway. I am still giving them a five star in all of my three visits. Gonna tell you my first.

We ordered
The baby back ribs. Oh yes! Wala akong masabi. Really tender and good. The first few orders were really fall off the bone tenderness. The next orders weren't so. But really teally really sulit and good

Wagyu. Tastes ok and really tender but those who orderd it would have preferred the ribs.

Porkchop is not their forte dish but it was also good.

The gindara (no pic aand as of now out of stock) was sweet. This is one of the fish dish that i like.

My second time:
Hawaiian chicken: maybe its not in their menu anymore but it was grilled almost perfectly. Serving was big as usual. Sulit din

My third time:
Tilapia dish was ordinary. The coconut rice was the star. Super asian.

Overall the food is no doubt five star but when it comes to the venue and service mejo 3 lang. But the servers were really friendly so bawi naman.
I still will give it 5 for its food quality.

Though it's quite small the place has a good ambience. They serve good food but small servings except for the luscious baby back ribs (photo above) which is half a kilo. Also they have this beer called belirium that taste really great. Servers and serving time needs some improvements but i will definitely go back. 128076

Our whole visit there was seriously a big disappointment. First, when we got inside(and seated), their staff didn't give us a menu and we even had to ask them for a menu once we realized that they had no clue that we still had no menu. We planned to order the ribs and ribeye but just when we were about to order, the waitress told us that the ribeye and ribs were out of stock already( they didn't have much to offer but we still gave them the benefit of the doubt and looked for something else to order) so we ordered the bacon wrapped prawn and pan seared porkchop instead. We waited for about 30 mins before we followed up our order since we were really trying not to ruin our night and we weren't that hungry yet. They told us "nakasalang na po" so we expected it to be out in just a while... And then after around another 10 mins we followed up our order and they told us it was already in the oven. I was getting impatient so I asked them how long it would take cause I was really considering cancelling our orders and just look for some place else to eat, and they told me that it would only take about 8 mins. After around 20 more mins(obviously they weren't able to deliver the food in 8 mins) we followed up our orders and they told us "andyan na po" so we waited for another 5-10mins and the bacon wrapped shrimp finally came but the porkchop came after around 15 mins(we were able to finish the shrimp already cause the 2nd entree took to long AGAIN). The food was mediocre, nothing special and serving was small. And I don't think it would take you more than 1 hour to cook 5 pcs of shrimp wrapped in bacon and a porkchop. Their service was SO BAD considering there was only a long table of about 10 people sitting outside and 2 other customers when we got there. The couple at first didn't have their food when we got there and then they had their food, ate, paid the bill, and left.... And that whole time we were just waiting for our food. My visit there was surely a terrible and unforgettable experience. Never again.

I hate to say it. But this place has the worst service in Maginhawa area. Well, at least among the places I've tried.

We went here at around 9:20PM this past Sat night to chill for a bit. The place looks cool despite its small space. The servers were attentive and welcomed us with smiles.

We ordered the following:

1. Chicken Fingers
2. Becks beer
3. Potato Wedges
4. A fruit shake
5. Another dish that I can't remember (friend's order).

The Becks beer and fruit were served after 10 min. The potato wedges came after 15-20 min. But the chicken fingers? NEVER LANDED ON OUR TABLE.

We waited for almost 35-40 min. and got pissed so we told them to cancel the remaining orders. Before canceling, we asked about it and the server said, "di pa po nagagawa". 128532

We also asked for the bill right after canceling.

The worst part? THEY DIDN'T APOLOGIZE! Not even the manager. The manager saw that we were pissed but she didn't even bother apologizing!

I do hope the kitchen was just having bad day.

And nope, I have no plans of coming back even if Olivia Wilde asks me to dine with her there. 128078
