Not a bad place to catch a movie. They only have 2 cinemas and sometimes they both show the same movie, but I like how the theater isn't too big. It's like watching a movie in a country club cinema, very cozy.

Movie snack options include Subway and Madeca. 128076

First time to watch a movie at The Podium.  I specifically picked this location because of the mall is not as crowded as the others in the vicinity.

The cinema is well maintained,  good audio and video and you know what's the best part -  there's legroom!  You don't have to get all cranky when someone accidentally bumps your chair.

Anyway,  Finding Dory is a friggin tear-jerker.  The movie has a heart as wide as the Pacific Ocean.  And yes,  i want a pet octopus.

Are you trying to watch an in-demand movie but it is sold out everywhere? Do you want to watch your movies in peace, without all the crowds? Do you you wan't to be able to buy your tickets online? Yes?

Then guess what, Podium Cinema is here for you.

Ignore the old-cinema smell but enjoy their comfortable seats with aisles so spacious you can "excuse me" your way through without bumping a single knee. Sure, their screen may not be as fancy schmancy digital high def as the newer cinemas (i would not be surprised if They still use a projector) but I promise you, it's not that bad. I would prefer this to lining up before the mall opens on a Saturday just to get tickets to the latest marvel movie. (I'm talking to you eastwood, greenhills and shang.)

Pro-tip: I find that the last 3 rows are the most optimal for movie watching due to the smaller than normal theatre.

It's my 1500th review!!! Aaaaaaaahhhhhh!!!127881128171127879127880128165

After these many reviews, it made me think about why I love looloo so much... Why do I keep coming back for more? So I made a list of reasons why I (and hopefully you agree as well) love looloo!10084

1) You get to know all the greatest and latest restaurants-- ANYWHERE!!!
Yeeeeaaaahhhh!!! The foodie dream-- eating great food, meal after meal! Looloo gives you all the information you need to make an informed and hopefully yummy choice anytime of the day, any day of the week! Be the first to know about the hottest restaurants or new branches of old favorites...
Live in Cebu? Bacolod? Visiting Batanes or Bicol? No problem! The looloo database is so extensive that it covers the entire Philippines! Never feel clueless wherever you go, for as long as you have wifi or 3G, looloo has your back y'all!128522

2) Diet ka sis? That's okay, you can still indulge in looloo!
I don't mean living vicariously through others' dining experience... I mean looloo can point you to the best day spas, salons, and massage parlors as well! It's even a great traveling tool, because it gives you valuable info about various resorts, hotels, historical sites, and even airports around the country! So, basically looloo is truly your quintessential, all around guide!

3) Sssssssshhhhhh!!! Secret!128536
Secrets it is! Looloo is a veritable treasure trove of insider tips! Be it off menu options or not so secret recipes, you can bet that you can read about it here! Other tips include who is the best nail attendant in a nail spa, what's the best time to go to a new resto, even how to save on trips to different provinces... Pretty neat huh?128077

4) Sinong sikat? Eh di ikaw!
Be the go-to person that your family and friends consult regarding their dining dilemmas... I became the designated restaurant chooser (whut?!) in my barkada... I get calls from friends who unexpectedly go to parts of the metro they don't frequent-- for advice on where to eat! I feel so loved-nuks!128540 Haha, true story!128522
Another looloo side effect? Be recognized when you walk around malls, by people who also use the app... I got a little freaked out when it happened once in Maginhawa... But then again, I approached another regular reviewer in Trinoma while shopping (calling Captain Bruce D), so I guess I kinda freaked him out too! But, it's fun when it happens...128513

5) Entertainment Tonight- that's right!
Not all reviews are created equal... There have been reviews that got me laughing out loud, some made me cringe, some made me feel for the reviewer... You can't deny a great story when you read one... So give everyone a reason to laugh or get mad for you with your review! It's a great past time!128516

6) Let out the inner artist, chef, photographer, writer or food critic!
Let's face it-- not everyone oozes with super duper artistic talent... I, for one, am a frustrated writer and chef... My job doesn't really leave much room for creativity, so looloo became one of my outlets!128522 It gets my creative juices flowing!

7) Honesty is the best policy (under the cloak of anonymity)
Another thing I love about looloo is that you can be comepletely honest about your experiences... You can say the things you couldn't say to the pouty waitress, the inefficient manager, or the other noisy patrons, right here! What made your experience so pleasant or downright sucky? Tell us all about in and don't spare any gory detail... Di ka naman ipapadampot after...128540

8) Share the love (or if you want, hate)128153
You know what they say, shared sorrow is half sorrow and shared happiness is double happiness... Or however the saying goes! Share your raves about your favorite dish or your rants about the overcooked and dry chicken... Overly hyped or lives up to the rep? All I know is-- you will feel better after posting your review!128588

9) No man is an island!!!
Don't you love it when people comment on your reviews? They may agree or disagree with you opinion, but I still appreciate the feedback, always... People really do read the reviews, I can definitely attest to that! But please, like away or leave a comment, don't be shy!128516

10) Wait for it-- Freebies!!!
Let me say this now-- I do have a looloo shirt! It's a great day when there's something in the mail, just for you, straight from looloo! Stickers, hoodies, candies, even GC's-- yey!!! 127881127882127880
Don't forget about the exclusive looloo specials that you can redeem at certain establishments... Make any visit sweeter with these specials!
They also have super fun and awesome (sipsip, haha!) contests! I was lucky to have won the recent #LabanManny contest! I got to watch the fight of the century (run of the century?) on the big screen! I also got to try astronaut ice cream-- thanks to the wonderful crew!128536 So keep reviewing! The more entries you have, the more chances of winning!128513

11) Makibaka! Platform for change!
Okay, no rallies here! But a lot of restaurant owners and managers are reading our reviews and implementing changes accordingly... We don't have to stand for subpar service-- because we are smart and savvy consumers... Other reviewers also take notice and steer clear of heavily endorsed restaurants or products... Review away! You never know whom you will influence...128077

12) Eat-ups
It's the new soiree for foodies! The love for delicious food is deeply ingrained in our culture and the need to share this with others goes hand in hand... A gathering of certified PGs makes a meal so much fun!!! People with great love for food are always the best people, in my book...

13) Friends
Calling #teamclingy!!! I am definitely lucky to have met and befriended such a wonderful and crazy group of people here at looloo... They add a different and unexpected dimension to my day... Thanks for welcoming me to the fold, lots of love to you wacky peeps! I know a lot of those bonds started right here at looloo, but it now extends beyond... I think it's the best reason to keep logging on, because relationships are at the heart of it all...128525

That about sums up why I keep coming back to this app... I hope I've inspired you guys to continue reviewing because I love reading about your experiences! And hopefully, you will love looloo as much as I do!!!128522

Thank you to the dedicated and absolutely awesome looloo crew!!! More power-- nuks! Odell R Erick B Peanut D Cyrene C Jacy L Pam L Patrick B Roegan T Nesty A @giselle

P.S. Did I mention the freebies?!128540128540128540

Their movie house is too small which I prefer than any other movie houses from SM. They only have 2 cinemas so better look for their online schedule so you wont miss a movie.

Podium is full of great food restos sooo food to bring in the movie house is not a problem

Watched Lupin and although it was a great disappointment because of Fujiko (not what i imagined her to be in real life). The good and probably the best part was that we had the whole cinema to outselves. Such a great experience.

First time to watch a movie in this cinema. It's a good thing that we transferred here from mega.

Instant favorite cinema in manda! 128522
There were few seats, not too crowded 128077 Even though I don't have my glasses with me I didn't had a hard time reading the subs in the screen. There were also plenty of leg room and the seats are comfy.

Before heading inside the cinema. Currently The Podium has a Java Jazz event. Coffee x Music Fest. Featuring specialty coffee 128525

Got this midnight blend from Coffee Academy. It's a combination of Arabica Beans from Mt. Apo and Indonesia. Plus Robusta Beans from Sumatra. Sooo good 128525

Oh the festival will be until Aug 24. Check it out 128522

Leg room! My almost six footer hubby approves.

Comfy seats

Only a dozen people inside so no noisy neighbors

Plus if you have that prepaid movie card, you get p50 off.

One of my favorite cinemas!

Even though it's quite small and there's no reserved seating (well, at least the last time i was there), I still really liked the coziness of it. And the AC's terrific!

You can also have your food brought to your seat 128077

Watched Captain America: Winter Soldier earlier tonight (2nd time in 4 days)--- great story. Action packed. Didn't even feel it was about 2.25. Moved with great pace from one set piece to the next, but it was with a purpose and more grounded compared to Thor 2.

Well acted by the ensemble cast-- Chris Evans as Captain America, post-Avengers Assemble, adjusting to the present life; the legendary Samuel L. Jackson and Col Nick Fury, Robert Redford as the Secretary of State and Nick's old friend, Sebastian Stan as The Winter Soldier and Anthony Mackie as the new sidekick, Falcon! Even Scarlett Johansson (usually used just for sex appeal) acted well and held her own with Evans as Natasha aka the Black Widow.

Anyway the movie was very well written, with some wit occasionally sprinkled to keep things balanced and not too serious. Action packed, serious special effects, combat scenes, and even some cameos by the likes of MMA's George St. Pierre & Community's Abed.

Podium cinema has fallen gracefully from the top cinemas in Metro Manila as the others have caught or surpassed them. For now, it's good enough to watch a blockbuster on its first weekend and still have enough space for walk-ins like us. Sad but true. I couldn't go to Magnolia or Trinoma kasi. Lol. 128556

So we went to catch the 9PM showing of Wolf of Wall Street with my mom, my sister and Regine E. Apparently, this is NOT a family movie.

Also it's 3 hours long, which I wouldn't mind so much if our theater experience at Podium were a bit better. We sat through 3 hours of the movie with skipping visuals and audio! Like we would be watching a scene, and all of a sudden the scene would skip a few frames, and the audio would jump (almost like a pirated CD). I know this had nothing to do with censorship, since they still showed all the... indecent... scenes and played all the audio where actors were dropping F-bombs left and right. To make things worse, I think they turned off the air-conditioning while we were watching the movie. Like one moment, it was cold, and the next, we were really sweating a lot.

Overall, I was not happy, and I don't really know why this happened. We've watched movies here before, and didn't have bad experiences like this. I think I'll be avoiding the theaters here for a while.

Watched Frozen tonight at Podium... The cinema is ok for me, I just don't like movie seats where the arm rests can't be lifted=D not too cold, just right the temp without a jacket (I get cold so easily)... Sound system- not bad either... Small movie house so there's not a lot of people, which I like as well. Nothing remarkable about the place though... Ok movie-going experience!
Cute movie!!!=)

I like it cause the cinema is small lang but then I don't like the leveling of the chairs. Last movie I watched here was Catching Fire and I loved the movie but the person seated in front of me was blocking my view so I got kinda pissed.

Sana they had more cinemas lang.

Watched Thor: The Dark World and it was my first time to try Podium Cinema. First, I really really love that it was so convenient to buy tickets online (Good job SM Cinema!). I highly recommend their online purchasing of tickets especially if you're going to watch a box office movie with a big group. Second, I also like that cinemas are just small and very convenient for senior citizens or PWDs. And third, Podium is a very peaceful mall so I really liked the crowd and ambiance inside the cinema. 128077127916

The only thing I didn't like was the ticket itself. It's just a receipt kind of paper (whatever you call that) and no perforations. It's very confusing that the person in charge to tear our ticket mistakenly tore 7 tix only instead of 8. Ang gulo lang! But they were kind so I still liked them. Haha!

Much like the first Thor, this one is driven by the charisma of Tom Hiddleston (Loki). Some improvement by Chris Hemsworth as Thor when doing his screen time with Loki and on his own. He's getting better at it.

Natalie Portman seems capable but her character wasn't as used. The movie lacks the coherence and independence of the first Thor but the effects were good, nonetheless. A solid 3/5 for Thor.

Podium is such a disappointment. Seats are excellent, the angle of the chairs make it such that people in front of you (myself included cause I'm almost 6"0) can block the screen. It's barely 30 degree angle. Plus the sound isn't as digital and speakers are not well spaced. Maybe it's how the cinema is structured. Be that as it may, the cinema is still decent but ten years behind the times. About a 3/5, too. Hence the rating.
