There is absolutely all sorts of desserts stalls in SM Megamall. While shopping on their intense line up of local and foreign brands, it’s also their goal to entice you for sweets. One of these is Polka Dot, a cake place offering classic and novel creations in medium and small sizes.
I have no intention of finishing a whole cake. In fact am happy to have a forkful or two. So I ended up sharing the three cakes I bought with the rest of foodie friends. The price points are friendly with each piece going for less than Php 200. And it can serve up to 4.
What was good? Their Toffee Nut Sansrival. It’s one of the three they have. The others include Original Butter and Chocolate. A bite is truly overwhelming with its thick, smooth and creamy toffee caramel mixed with meringue butter and nuts. The way they blend together was meant to be.
An old favorite and go to, Decadence was as impressive. The chocolate had a nice bitter touch and paired well with layers of sweet caramel. The Velvitie or their Red Velvet rendition on the other hand wasn’t pleasant. The chiffon was too hard and its cream filling had a seemingly strange taste. The signature flavor of this popular cake was absent.

Oh... I finally saw their cute booth just outside Abe since they belong to the same LJC group...coz of the festive colorful display... I was tempted to buy some of it's beautiful cakes
Yuki mouse cake was so beautiful .., lured into buying this feather like looking ethereal cake... But taste was somewhat tangy like it's made out of some weird cheese that went bad... Or we're given a spoiled cake ... Tasted really gross
Chocolate decadent was so chocolatey rich, firm & silky dense. Icing & cream between layers we're thick yet not too sweet... I'm a new fan of this flavor ️
Black Forest chocolate cake looked so appetizing.. Luscious moist flavorful icing I can't just stop having one more bite
Toffee sansrival was so lovely & sprinkled with generous nuts... The chewy texture I like a lot coupled with the taste of the toasty nuts was divine.... Ahhh... I so easily gives in to my tons of temptations

A new booth from the LJC group offering really cute personal size cakes ... Good for sharing for 2-3
Family friends sent me 6 of it when visiting me... And I love the creamy richness of each
Sans rival was chewy , crunchy, chunky ... Nutty ... really good for dessert lovers but a tad too sweet for me... But I loved it's texture.
The red velvet they named velvetique was shockingly red... very appealing presentation , moist & creamy & yet not too sweet... but I can't pinpoint was lacking.. dessert isn't a field I traverse often
The chocolate rocky road I liked a lot... rick thick dark & milky chocolate with silky creme... mallows on top & loads of nuts.
Carrot cake... Was filled with toasty nuts... Really good texture ... I enjoyed this a lot too & it's not too sweet .
