The boo and I have made it a point to eat at a different restaurant in BF everytime we go out. He's quite supportive of this food review thing I have going on so lemme say, I'm quite the lucky gal. Hehehe

Tonight, we had dinner at The Rib Shack. The first comment we had was about the place, being quite hidden from the usual Aquirre and President's Avenue establishments. We still went inside and found the place quite tastefully done. There is a casual vibe in the place that encourages you to stay and eat and just enjoy. I love the brick wall accents, the wooden pallet theme, and yes even the industrial-looking sheet iron wall that marks the start of their kitchen area. The customized yellow light bulbs give off a certain firefly glow that's comforting. Service was fast, the staff was certainly attentive and cheerful. The boo liked their playlist, so that's a unique plus point for the place.

We had the In a Relationship Rib plate, named as such because it comes with two side dishes and is perfect for couples. There's also a Single (solo plate that comes with a side dish and rice) and It's Complicated, their biggest slab, good for 3 to 4 people. We also ordered Half of the Cajun Chicken and chose Garlic Potato Balls, Butter Garlic Creamy Spinach, and Mashed Potatoes as our sides.

The ribs were perfect, they easily give way even wihout using a knife and every morsel I take is as tasty as the last one. Every bite is coated with their signature sauce, and there is a good enough amount of heat that will make you want to eat rice.

The Cajun Chicken was equally tasty, not overcooked and effortless to eat. I personally enjoyed it dipped in the ranch dressing they have. It made the flavors more balanced and whole.

It was a pleasant surprise to find their mashed potatoes were topped with parmesan. You know me, anything is better when there's cheese! The creamy garlic sauce of the spinach was also on point, although I am not really a fan of spinach. But the good thing is, this side dish made me try it! The gralic potato balls were seasoned with a lot of rosemary, which might fair even better when you're eating this with the chicken.

The Rib Shack is designed with hearty eaters in mind. I kmew we picked the right restaurant tonight when the boo tipped the staff a bit more than usual. That's one more new restaurant off our list, a few more and we'll be food royalties on our street! Haha

My photo doesn't do justice on how yummy the ribs were!128517

A recommendation from my cousin after hyping me this place and we finally got the chance to try it!

With a company of 15pax, we got different dishes such as the buffalo wings, chicken, and of course, their bestselling ribs!

I personally loved it with its rich sauce and tender meat - and fares as good as Rack's (or Morganfield's even). The prices were affordable too with respect to the serving size.

To add more fun, we ordered Mojito, Blue Hawaii and Tequila Sunrise for cocktails worth P60 per glass. The mixes were okay and a bit sweet - but nonetheless, we enjoyed them.

I certainly recommend this place especially for barkada hangouts for a chill vibe with good food.
And hint - they have a secret "stock room" - ya'll know when you go there! 128521

Located at the far end of Presidents Avenue, The Rib Shack is located where Chinese Wok used to be. It now sports a galvanized steel / roofing interiors, industrial meets backyard barbeque type of vibe. When we entered, what surprised me most is the friendliness of the staff. They quickly attended to us and made sure we were comfortable on our place. We took a quick look at the menu and asked for the Ribs (Good for 2) and the Big Bad Breast.

After a few minutes, what was served looked good enough for 3 people. We had the Creamed Spinach and the Mashed Potatoes. The creamed spinach was delicious and made with heavy cream. It complimented the mashed potatoes too! The Ribs although not fall off the bone, was quite flavorful. There was no need for you to add more sauce because the marinated seeped through the meat and had a smoky barbeque taste. Perfect when eaten with the spinach. The Big Bad Breast though was too flavorful, it had a strong taste of lime which was distracting. I was having difficulties eating it because it was acidic. I had to drown it with the ranch sauce that came with it just to lessen the flavor. The serving though was enormous! Which is a plus for me. Would try the other flavor next time. The original blend might have been too much for me.

Overall, we enjoyed our dining experience. Great service, delicious ribs and sides! Recommended.
