The Royal Picadilly is a nice cozy tea shop on the second floor of Petron Gas sation in Katipunan.

They serve english comfort food like bangers and mash; fish and chips; meat pies; and afternoon tea with scones and cumpets. There's also butterbeer, pasta, cakes, and pastries.

I was able to try the butterbeer; soaghetti and meatballs; caesar salad; fish and chips; and cupcakes.

The butterbeeris rich, caramel-ly, and creamy because of the scoop of vanilla ice cream on it. It tastes like classic cream soda. 50php if ylu want it spiked with white rhum. Good, but quite pricey at 125/mug.

The greens in the caesar salad were fresh and crisp. The honey mustard dressing was too sweet tho.

Fish and chips were eaten at home. Nicely seasoned, but i wouldve wanted a better cook on the fish.

The soaghetti and meatballs was a miss. The tomato sauce was runny and sweet, while the meatballs were mushy and made with mostly extenders. Not a fan of this one.

Tahitian vanilla cupcake was just okay. Nothing special, plus it was a little dry.

Nice place, but the food could be improved. I wonder if i ordered the wrong things..

Hello again, Looloo! It's been a while since I actually posted a complete review with an actual photo. 128517128075🏼 The Royal Piccadilly is one of my favorite places to hang out in along Katipunan because 1) there are no people, and 2) the wi-fi is ultra fast. Plus, the servers are really quick and attentive, as they should be when there's only one customer to attend to.

As for the food, their carbonara (P180) and their salisbury steak (P225) are pretty good. I also like their choco lava cake with ice cream, although it's expensive. They used to have a P155 promo meal that came with a glass of iced tea, and the choices of dishes included fried chicken, pasta, chicken barbecue, etc. It was pretty sulit for its price but then again, nothing to rave about. 128513

I'm pretty sure this place doesn't get a lot of customers because the food is quite expensive. But it's a nice quiet place to have a meeting/read a book/kill time! Haha.

Royal Piccadilly is one of those hidden and underrated gems along Katipunan. Situated at the second floor of Petron beside Kamirori, it combines what you look for in a British Pub while still offering options that appeal to your more upstart British side like their tea sets.

My boyfriend and I went there a couple times using MetroDeal coupons and got around P850 to P900 for food for around half the price (given that the coupons were P200 for P400 worth of food and we had 2). With each trip, we got what would be called our favorites -- Salisbury steak, pasta (pomodoro for the first run then spaghetti with meatballs on the second) and their signature Fish & Chips.

Admittedly, we checked the Zomato reviews for what would be good and got a lot of mixed reviews from the Salisbury steak, but my boyfriend was stubborn about wanting to get it. I'm honestly glad we did because it was *really* good. We both guessed that they make and prep their own steak with how juicy, flavorful and delicious it was. It was especially good with the sauce and rice. For our second run, it's good to note that I tried it with their mashed potato, but with the flavor intensity, I think rice would be a better pair as it both absorbs the flavor as well as makes for a lighter companion compared to the potatoes.

For the Fish & Chips, we got it given recommendations of the users, and I warned my boyfriend that it was big. When the single serving came in, he said, "Wow. You weren't kidding." We weren't able to finish the single serving the first time given that we accidentally over-ordered, but for the second time, we kept it all light and got a "sharing" platter...that we still couldn't consume. :))

The Fish & Chips were amazingly flavorful, light, crispy and had a very clean appetizing taste. There was no indication of any fishiness in the dory and the chunk was about an inch or so thick. Squeezing a bit of lemon over the fish and eating it with the provided sauce, salad or chips to your liking makes for a filling meal.

One of the best things that we would say though is their service. The staff is attentive when you need your water refilled, they take your requests and clarifications, and are quick to serve. What really impressed both me and my boyfriend though was when they asked if my boyfriend would change his order during our second run there due to the bread for his original order drying out. What this said was that they'd rather ask you to pick something else than serve a bad dish to their customers which gave them a LOT of plus points in our book.

Overall, we would definitely go back to Royal Piccadilly. It has an interesting ambiance, awesome staff and great food.

Next time though, I'll probably try to go for the snooty British side of me and try the tea sets.

I attended a bridal shower here and had an amazing time. Quaint, homey, dainty, perfect place to have my tea and scones. Location is a bit hard to get to, but I love that it's different from the restos in the area. It was an experience, and I'm happy that there's a nearby tea place in QC.

Cheap liquor and good food. It should drop the cutesy decor though and go straight up English gastropub. 128527

Ordered scones and tea for our dessert.

The scones came with butter and jam. It is my first time to try a scone and I didn't enjoy it. I find it a bit dry and hard. Not sure though where to compare the scones with but hubby said CBTL serves a good scone so might as well have it as my "baseline".

Anyway, their cakes/cupcakes on display were too cute to eat! 128522 I wonder if those tastes good too. 128516 Maybe we'll try next time we're within the area.

The type of place where you look at the menu and you're not sure what to order. People were friendly and the food was good!

I'm just glad they had Hoegarden!

Went here for a late lunch one day. I really liked their cozy interiors and their servers were friendly 128513

I had their Salisbury steak (P225) and while it was flavorful and had that distinct A1 steak sauce taste, the consistency was pretty weird. It was tough and a bit burnt at the bottom. I loved the parsley rice it came with, though! Overall I think the serving is too small to be worth the price.

Their sausage rolls from the little cart beside starbucks are surprisingly good. They were buttery and flavourful. Took 'em home and ate them with mustard and a cold beer. PERFECT.

Minus 1 star because they were a bit expensive.

I was surprised they opened so early! I arrived an hour ahead of my colleagues (was working on a day I was supposed to be on leave) and wanted to surprise them with cupcakes from TRP as Christmas presents as it was two days after Christmas. It was 8am in the morning and I found TRP opened, with at least 3 staff already working (there might have been more in the backroom).

Once I entered they all git up on their feet and entertained me. It was a while since my last visit and their menu (yah imported beer!) expanded. The cashier gave me a handout of their menu (yay again!) for reference. I bought a box of 6 assorted cupcakes which included Red Velvet, Vanilla, Peanut Butter, Chocolate and another one I can't remember. I paid and left, noting how friendly and efficient they were (hi Lisane B!)

When my colleagues tried their cupcakes, they clearly enjoyed them. I had the Vanilla which was good but whose frosting was quite too oily. Bonetheless it was good and satiated my craving (sugar in the morning!)

Now, to visit for those imported beers on another day...

Affordable imported beers. Wide array of scotch options. Fried chicken that'll make the South proud. Authentic English-style fish n' chips. The Parliament Burger. And more. All in Katipunan.

Just tried their red velvet cupcake and the only good I liked about it was the chocolate chip on top of it and inside. I didn't like the cream and I didn't like the price. I think it was too expensive for the size.

Lighter side, the place was cute and peaceful. Maybe next time I will try their rainbow cake and imported beers. 128522

The Royal Picadilly has become one of my favorite restaurants in the Katipunan area. My husband and I live all the way in Subic and we cannot go to Manila without stopping by this restaurant. He's absolutely addicted to their fried chicken and I'm absolutely addicted to their choco peanut butter cupcake.

The fried chicken in Picadilly is a tad bit more expensive than the usual meal that you pay for in nearby restaurants but it's worth the extra hundred. It's crispy on the outside but the meat is still juicy and flavorful. We like pairing it with the mashed potatoes for the extra sinful oomph.. :)

As for the cupcake, i love how moist the cake is and how the icing isn't overwhelmingly sweet. Plus it's just the right size so you don't feel like a blimp after having one (or maybe two.. Hehehe).

Last and most importantly, they serve imported beer and liquor for a fraction of the price that you would pay in other restaurants!! Perfect for a quiet after dinner night cap with friends.

TRP's mashed potatoes are so good! I like my mashed potatoes to have texture and not be too smooth, and this hits the mark. It goes well with the fried chicken and the meat pies.

I've visited The Royal Piccadilly on several occasions and order dessert every single time. I've tried several cupcake flavors but I like the chocolate peanut butter cupcake the best. It's moist and not overly chocolatey, with just the right touch of peanut butter. My daughter's favorite is the chocolate cupcake with marshmallow frosting. She doesn't normally like sweets but she can finish a whole "cloud cupcake", as she calls it. The rainbow cake is not to be missed either.

At 75 a piece (we ordered a box of 6 at P450...128584),these cupcakes were a major let down. Small for the price and extremely dry!!!! Hello??? UNmoist cupcakes? Mortal sin.
The Earl Grey flavor was good BUT dry so okay that totally cancels it out. I am so sad. I hate it when cupcakes look good but taste like crap. 128078128169
