Right after jogging, I accompanied Ony for dinner here at Sandwich Guy.

SG is one of our go to sandwich place when we can't think of a place for a light not so fast food type of meal to eat for dinner (or merienda). We like SG because it's not too pricey and the sandwiches (though not the best 128517), are still pretty good and filling. I also find it convenient and practical that they now offer the sandwiches in 2 sizes: half and the regular. Perfect when you're not super hungry or when you also want to order something else, like a pasta or any from their sides/salad options. I personally like the Tommy Boy pasta but the pesto pasta is good, as well. Request for additional chicken or bacon to make it more filling and well, better! 128518 The cheesy bacon potato (not sure w the exact name) is also good. This is something potato, bacon and cheese lovers (on a budget) would love. 128521 I really like the fact that I get to enjoy a sandwich, pasta or salad for less than 100 pesos.

For this visit, we ordered a regular sized Bacon & Mushroom Sandwich and Pesto Pasta w Chicken to share. All for just 205 pesos. The pesto pasta was just okay, not that flavorful, the cheesy pesto taste wasn't that strong but it's there haha! The chicken strips added were generous enough. The sandwich was good. Usual sandwich. Best to ask them to toast it longer for the crispy toasted bread. 128077🏼

I went to the Sandwich Guy to grab an afternoon snack. The store is located at Upper Mckinley Road. The place is just small but have tables and chairs outside where you can sit and eat your food.

I ordered Tommy Boy Pasta (Fresh Tomatoes and Garlic Sauteed in Olive Oil) for Php70.00 and Half Crabstick and Mangoes Sandwich for Php58.00.

I used to enjoy their sandwiches but when I last ordered here, the bread was stale and I felt like the bacon bits were kind of raw cos I was having a hard time chewing it. Never again.

This was their Italian Style sandwich - Ham, Pepperoni, Cheddar w lettuce and tomato. From my past experiences, I didn't really liked any of their sandwiches, it was too ordinary, bland or too sad and too dry? But I was surprised that I enjoyed this one. It was actually very filling and perfect as a post jog meal! Or a late night meal after a loooong day at work. 128077🏼

Tried the Tofu Sandwich. Tofu + Tomato + Cucumber + Lettuce + BBQ sauce. Had the mayonnaise removed. 128518 it was just okay. Hmmmm, I enjoyed eating them separately. The tofu was soft. The veggies were sakto lang. The Bbq sauce was too sweet for me. 128517128522

Service was good, though. Servers were all very nice and jolly! 128512128077🏼

Glad that the Peanut Butter + Banana is back! Ahhh, finally! 128513128525128588🏼

I really love the bacon chicken sandwich and chicken pesto here! Although, it's just sad that the quality of their sandwiches and pastas has deteriorated for the last two or three years. I'll give it 3 stars since they had larger servings of pasta before and more fillings in their sandwiches, but i still like their food especially whenever i like to eat something healthy, this is my place to go. :)

THUMBS UP: Healthy, yummy and filling sandwiches served fresh not fried. TSG is very convenient for busy office people who can’t afford to leave their stations even during lunch breaks. Aside from sandwiches, they also have pasta, salad and baked potatoes.

THUMBS DOWN: Since they serve their delis fresh not fried, their bacon is not crispy. Plus there was this rumor that went around but TSG gave their official statement directly answering the rumor.

MUST TRY:
HBLT (Php 85.00)
Ham, bacon, lettuce, tomato in wheat bread. TSG’s bestseller

Crabsticks & Mangoes (Php 80.00)
Crabsticks, mangoes, cheese in wheat bread

Cheesey Bacon Potato (Php 75.00)
Baked potato with bacon lathered with cheese sauce

Because today I feel like a growing boy who's always hungry, I went to Sandwich Guy to grab merienda. However, I couldn't even fit into my skirt anymore so I decided to get a salad. Haha!

A TUNA SALAD. This, however, is one helluva pretentious salad. Meheheh 128520 But this is the closest thing I can get to healthy. Packed in a microwavable tub, you have your usual lettuce, cucumber, tomato topped with tuna and slices of cheese with caesar dressing. It was too yummy that I knew it was a poser. Haha! Generous strips of cheese pa! Oh yeah! 128077

Hard to find cheap salad so yeah, Caesar dressing for you! Haha!

good and fast. would have been good to have a decent place to sit instead of the 2 tables infront.

had the hblt (ham and BLT) and the roastbeef. overall good sandwiches but not GREAT by my standards. theres a science in putting a sandwhich together and this was off. the order of how a sandwich is put together was best explained by ALTON BROWN in his show good eats.

so my overall rating is just s tad bit better than ok.

I first took notice of this in their branch near out office and liked their pasta and sandwiches. I liked the Tommy Boy pasta considering it has fresh tomatoes and garlic sauteed in olive oil. Its a healthy choice. At the same time, the crabstick and mangoes caught my eye and yhe taste did not disappoint. Will try the others next time in their more than 25 branches here in metro manila

Given its name, I guess it's not exactly the best place to go to when you're craving for pasta. But since I'm trying to cut back on food expenses this month (so I can splurge on my birthday), I decided to order Pesto Pasta from them (its cheap compared to Fruit Magic or Amici! Like a hundred bucks cheaper).

I checked their menu (I keep a bunch of food menu flyers on hand, for take out or delivery) and saw that they have 3 variants: Pesto, Chicken Pesto and Seafood Pesto. Since it is the start of Lent today, and since I'm not too fond of their seafood pesto (it's weird that they put shredded Kani on pasta) I opted for plain Pesto. I was pretty busy at the office, so I asked our utility guy to buy food for me. I wrote down my order clearly on a piece of paper: "Pesto."

The utility guy came back with a tub of Chicken Pesto, saying that the Sandwich Guy people said that the plain Pesto is not available. 128550 Wait, WHAT??? They gave me Chicken Pesto (Pesto Pasta topped with chicken) because PLAIN PESTO is not available? Are they kidding me???

I had to pick out each and every piece of shredded chicken before I could eat my meal. I had to pay an additional 25 pesos for something that I could not eat. How fun. 128528 And to top it off, the pasta was SO HOT, like they nuked it for 10 minutes.

Well, I know that they don't actually cook their food in the store, so I guess I wasn't expecting a 5-star meal. But the least I could hope for was efficient service, and I didn't get that (Again: no plain pesto??? Really?).

I guess this is what I get for being a cheapskate. 128546
