I asked my old workmates where it's good to eat nowadays in Ortigas since it's been over a year since I've frequented the area. He suggested The Stockpile for their pasta.

My friend got their Truffle Mushroom Cream which was really really good! They topped it with fresh egg yolk which made the sauce richer. The truffle cream sauce was very distinct.

I had their Pasta Al Nero which is their squid ink pasta with a cream sauce. It had squid and fish which was quite fresh. This too was pretty good but the Truffle Mushroom Cream was way better.

They also had lunch specials which were some of their main entrees with a glass of iced tea included. My other friend got the salmon with aligue rice but she said it wasn't that great.

Coffee here is from Local Edition.

There’s a booming restaurant industry, we know that. Stockpile is a new entry. Nice, cozy interiors. Good variety is balanced and creative. Enjoyed the Crab Sandwich but it was 4 bites at Php 390. The salted caramel goodie. Looking forward to try again soon.

My expectations are high when the food is priced above PHP300. I tried stockpile yesterday for lunch. I had their Lechon Style Roast Pork Belly (PHP320). It came with french beans, au jus gravy and aligue rice.

The aligue rice was really good. Although it did not taste like aligue, it was delicious and the perfect conplement. The french beans were delicious as well and fresh. I was only disappointed with their pork. It looks a lot on the photo but it's not. Taste, it was okay. I was still able to finish it though because it's pork. Samahan mo ng mang tomas yan masarap pa din yan. 128514 I guess that's why they put too much aligue rice because the serving size of their french beans and pork belly was meager.

The creamy crab and artichoke dip was a nice surprise. You might have to order additional flat bread (for P60) since the dip had generous portions.

Fish and chips was ok but not a real differentiator.

Their best seller supposedly was the pan roasted 24-hour brined double cut pork chop. P480 with rice or P520 with mashed potato. Pretty tasty with the sauce and possibly for sharing unless extremely hungry 128522

Overall ambience is chill. Local beers for P80 and some draft or IPA beers available as well.

Finally got to visit this new area in Ortigas called The Sapphire Bloc. This is where Sobremesa is located as well.

Went late at night and saw the server outside asking folks to look at their menu. Looked at it and saw tapa. So I went in and tried it!

The tapa (Php 295) was pretty good! It's not overly sour/soaked in vinegar like IHOP's version but not too sweet or saucy (Rufo's levels) either.

They also have other interesting items on their menu like the 24 Hour Brined Double Cut Porkchop and the Seafood Cioppino.

Servers need a little more energy but then again at 11PM maybe they were all very tired and just wanted to go home.

Had the salisbury steak lunch special. The food's quite filling and the ambience provides just the right chill vibe.

Sosyal na baked mac.. That is how I would describe the 4 cheese truffle pasta of Stockpile. Seriously though, the pasta tasted good. The cheesy flavor blended well with the truffle oil. The burnt top gave it a nice crunch the bacon bits added just bit of salty flavor. This was much better than the vongole pasta which was too salty for my palate. Wasn't a WOW experience but overall it was OK.

This is one of the restos located at the ground floor of the newly constructed Sapphire Bloc in Ortigas. The place was pretty much impressive with a great ambience. However, the food has still a lot of room for improvement. I ordered a simple fare of longsilog. Nothing special. I have tasted better and cheaper versions in other places. I could still bite into the rock salt granules in the fried rice. They also put some lettuce as garnish which didn't go to well because of the overly sour dressing. I however give them credit for the coffee that came with the food. It was good and was served in a presser.

What took the cake however, was when we got our bill. Given the "classiness" of the place one would expect to get an official receipt or at least a tape receipt printed by the POS. Instead, we were given a small piece of paper where our bill was scribbled carenderia style! Since the place is only a few weeks old, I am giving it a chance to improve and I hope it will.
