The feeling you have when a restaurant you had liked in the past has degraded in quality: 128532

That's what I felt after this experience.

My family and I didn't feel like dining at any of the restaurants in SM Lanang Premier for dinner. So my father and siblings voted to go for Swiss Deli, since it was just beside the mall. (It also wouldn't be a hassle going back to the mall to continue our shopping.)

On to our orders:

Our food looked really appealing. But read on to know what we thought of them.

Seafood Chowder
Compared to other seafood chowders in town, theirs is still the best (relatively). It was a hearty meal all by itself. It was served piping hot in a bread bowl, which made it the perfect soup for a rainy night. It was meaty and creamy at the same time, and the servings were generous.

Tortellini
On the menu, it said that this dish was their 'home-made pasta, stuffed with beef meat, with cream sauce'. This dish did not impress. At all. The flavors just clashed. The flavor of the beef was overpowering, and it lacked herbs and spices. And because of that, I could hardly taste the cream sauce. Frankly, it was like expensive beef siomai.

Cheeseburger
My dad described it as lousy. He said it was just like any other burger. The cheese was ordinary. The bun might have been old, because it was dry. He said it was not impressive, to say the least. We all liked the fries that came with the order though, since they were really crispy.

Caesar Salad
This was what my mom ordered. The greens were fresh, so that was nice. Taste-wise, it was passable. The dressing was kind of lacking for its size.

Smoked Farmer's Ham Sandwich
Sissy #1's order. The sandwich was made up of smoked ham, tomatoes, lettuce, and cucumbers. The ham was good; it was deli quality. But just like the cheeseburger my dad ordered, the buns were dry and old. It wasn't anything amazing though.

Ravioli
Sissy #2's order. Tasted like any other ravioli. It would have been better if they were even more generous on the tomato sauce.

The only consolation we had was that the server who attended to our table was very prompt and helpful. 128522

And the search for great food in the city continues... 128064

It's not just a restaurant. They have a meat shop and bakery in front, where they sell imported goods which mostly come from Europe. They also have a wine cellar and bar in the basement which houses wines coming from different parts of the world.

The restaurant (which is a bit small) offers Italian cuisine. Their Seafood Chowder is a must-try along with their steaks. Their pasta is good too. And their lychee iced tea is also a favorite! But this gets minus points for serving instant mashed potatoes! (Err.)

Food's price might be a bit hard on the wallet, but some are worth it. And the servings are huge and the ambiance is great too!
