This restaurant is truly a must try! It was holy week when we chanced upon this restaurant, one of the rare ones open during the holiday season. The restaurant was part of the house so it exuded a homey, comfortable feel.

We ordered spaghetti with meatballs and bibimbap. Both are amazing and i could not believe its not meat. Due to my mother's diet restrictions, our family is often on a hunt for good meals with no meat.

Their 'faux-meat' was tender, full of flavor and absolutely filling. The dessert, apple cheesecake, is truly a must try. The attendants are very hands-on. Just wish there were more seats! I'm not a big fan of the vegetarian cuisine but the Vegetarian Kitchen absolutely changed my mind. We will be back soon, holy day of obligation or not!

Place was about 5 tables only.

The menu wasn't trying hard tonshow off everything but only what it can cook and they do it very well.

Ordered Szechuan Shrimps, bibimbap, some salad with potatoes. Honestly they were excellent, seasoned just right.

Food is way better than those hippy places with juices in bottles :)

Late post and Second time at The Vegetarian Kitchen, this time post renovation. The newly renovated place is really cute. The eating area has been extended to include the former garage/outdoor eating area. The walls painted white. Everything looks fresh and clean. Good job on the reno

Now the food. We ordered a lot and here are some of the dishes that I remember:

Eggplant dip with poppadum - very good

Korean (shredded) beef ribs (using vegemeat) with rice - I ordered this and I must say, I couldn't even taste the difference between meat and the vegemeat. I don't like vegemeat but the Vegetarian Kitchen really does a great job using it in it's dishes.

Lengua - my friend ordered this and she said it was delicious.

Spaghetti with meatballs - I ordered this for the little boy and it was so good. The sauce was awesome. The meatballs were good too but I prefer the cauliflower and cabbage meatballs of Corner Tree Cafe.

I don't remember what my other friends ordered. They seemed to like it. We didn't get to talk much because our kids were so noisy! Lesson learned: schedule mommies' day out without the kids. The restaurant owners and staff were really kind and accommodating even if our kids were, uh, wild. Ten stars for that!

For the negatives: they didn't have any dessert on that day. 128532 also, it seemed like prices went up after the reno. The servings are huge though and can be shared so it almost makes up for the price increase.

Driving around mother ignacia, me and my s.o. wanted to try something different that night. Luckily we chanced upon this quaint little resto in the middle of the quiet street. We decided to give it a shot.

Enter the Vegetarian Kitchen! The place looks homey and very inviting. It can probably sit around 15-20 people. We ordered the following:

Spinach and Cream Cheese Dumplings - 128077128077128077128077128077
Very tasty and addicting. Not oily at all. A Must try!!!

Caldereta sa Gata - 128077128077128077128077128077
I lurrrrrv this dish!!! Didn't even notice that I was eating gluten that's how good it is.128522

Lengua Estofado - 128077128077128077
its was okay. i think it would have tasted better if paired with pasta instead brown rice.

My only complaint was that prices were on the steep side but overall we were satisfied with what we had. Will definitely comeback and try their other items.128522

I turned vegetarian just two months ago, and although I feel great about helping the animals, I've been pretty disappointed with the food I've been eating lately since they're all basically variations of the same thing. So I was really happy when I tried out the bibimbap in TVK since it was the best meal I've had in a while. I almost forgot how good food could be, until I ate here. I'm definitely gonna come back, and try their fried "chicken" next time!

I loved the Meatless Caldereta with Spring Rolls. The meat alternative was so good you'd think it's real meat. Plus, they have big and tasty serving. Worth your money ;)

I swear, I'm beginning to enjoy this vegetarian (not vegan) thing. A Saturday meeting near ABS CBN had us looloo-ING for a vegetarian restaurant nearby. This led us to The Vegetarian Kitchen.

Based on the sign, it's been open since the 1990s. The interiors and the smell reminds me of those small restaurants we had across Ateneo when I was college (a loooong time ago) noong Hindi pa uso Ang mga chain restaurants.

The food:

We ordered spinach and cream cheese dumplings (?). It was goooood. Spinach and cream cheese in wonton wrappers. Winner.

For the little boy: vegetable lumpia with peanut sauce. He finished every thing.

For me and the hubby to share: Vegetarian bibimbap. Don't expect real bibimbap in a cast iron pot. The rice was not soft and sticky like in bibimbap. It's texture is more like kimchi fried rice. Once you get over that it's not really bibimbap but a bibimbap inspired rice, you can enjoy the flavors. And it's so good. Instead of meat, they used soy-based meat (it looked and had the same texture as tempe but I'm not sure) flavored with sesame oil and sesame seeds. It also had sautéed greens, bok choy, cabbage and I'm not sure but parang it had nuts. We were practically licking the bowl. I wish the rice was more bibimbap-like but whatever it's called, masarap siya.

Service was efficient and friendly. It looks like a family run place. The servers and a girl in an apron (the chef?) all look alike.

Vegetarians will enjoy their vast selection of mock-meat dishes. For appetizer, we ordered Spinach and Cream Dumpling which was a best-seller and rightly so. It was really yummy! I had Korean Beef Stew while my Ate got Kaldereta. Their servings were pretty generous and the food was tasty. Good enough substitute for the real thing. Didn't like their juices though cause they were made from concentrate. Their Eggless Chocolate Cake was disappointing cause it was quite dry. I would rank this resto behind Pipino and Bodhi (Banawe) but ahead of Greens on top vegetarian restaurants list.

It was a pretty decent vegetarian place, price ranges from 190-270php. Service could have been better, it took about 20mins to cook our food. I had the korean spareribs. It was good but not awesome. Cozy place.

An oasis for vegan and vegetable lovers alike.

The Vegetarian Kitchen is not your ordinary hole in the wall because it gives you a healthy meatless meals that will surely whet your appetite.

I was never really a fan of vegetarian food. Never liked the taste of tofu masquerading as meat.

But after dining at The Vegetarian Kitchen Im already a convert.

Menu offers starters like cream cheese and spinach dumpling served with eggless mayo.
To desserts that is to die for like eggless lemon cheesecake and chocolate cake.

Some of the main dish that I tried and personally loved is the meatless tocino with eggless scrambled egg. Meatless meatloaf served with mash potato and corn. And my favorite beefless caldereta sa gata with vegetable lumpia and peanut sauce.

I recommend this for first time vegetarian eaters of people who wants to lose weight.

A great vegetarian restaurant in QC, love it! They serve a lot of vegan and vegetarian versions of familiar Asian and Filipino dishes. Every dish is quite confident and utilizes the use of sauces and spices to flavor it. Sometimes, the flavor can be overwhelming, like with the meatloaf (the BBQ glaze was too sweet), but at least it's not bland.

Highlights were the calderata and carrot loaf. Definitely coming back for more!

FYI: they are closed on Sundays and Mondays. They're only open from Tuesday to Saturday for lunch (11-3) and dinner (5-10).
