We ordered their Quatro Formaggi Con Arugula -four cheese thin crust pizza with fresh arugula on top! Probably the best four cheese pizza I have

We wanted to try the Village Chef on the first place for their soufflè but sadly we didn't like it. The soufflè we had unfortunately tasted like scrambled egg and the consistency is just off.

But I would be coming back for their pizzas and entrees and maybe to try their other desserts.

We were on our way back to Manila on a Sunday and as expected, traffic was heavy. All was well as we cruised SCTEX but once we entered NLEX, it was one hell of a parking lot! Good thing my Aunt invited us for dinner in San Fernando. Whiw! We decided to go to pass sometime and let the traffic subside.

My Aunt took us to Angeles City. Sure it was a long drive from San Fernando but when we saw the restaurant, it was worth it! The Village Chef - such an exclusive place. It's open only during Fridays to Sundays from 6PM to 11PM. Once you get in, the place will welcome you with lush greenery, a green house of fresh herbs and a dining area that speaks of elegance. It's a residential place with a portion converted to a restaurant - al fresco style. So homey and so nice. Great place for intimate dates and small gatherings.

We tried the following:

Quattro Formaggi Con Arugula Pizza - their best seller pizza. It's the best 4 Cheese Pizza I've tried yet. Imagine a crunchy thin crust pizza, that's a little chewy towards the center, with mozzarella, gruyere, parmesan and native buffalo cheese. Then top it off with fresh Arugula. So good! I'm drooling as I'm writing this review 128563128563128563

Then there was the Pizza alla Quesadilla that came with an aioli sauce. Another great piece! It has Mexican spices chicken chunks, jalapeño, mozzarella and sharp cheddar cheese. Such an explosion of flavors!

Arugula Salad - crisp and fresh lettuce mixed with fresh Arugula, tossed in a honey balsamic dressing and finished off with some pecan, grapes, apple chunks and cheese. I loved the freshness of the greens and the strong flavor of the balsamic vinegar. Such a healthy choice!

Pasta Aglio Oglio with Grilled Salmon - the Salmon was perfect! Beautifully crusted with pepper with a pinkish and soft meat beneath. The pasta itself was so so for me. It was too bitter for my taste and lacked some more saltiness. It has capers, olives, bell pepper, garlic, rosemary all tossed in with al dente pasta and olive oil.

Carbonara with Grilled Chicken - I liked the simplicity of this pasta dish. Pasta was al dente, sauce was creamy with bits of bacon. The grilled chicken was my favorite. Really tender, juicy and flavorful - I wanted to order more of it!

Then came the dessert - we tried their Perfect Soufflé. Gah! It was so good, so good! Imagine a fluffy coco-taro based custard with a molten center and a sweet milk that is meant to be poured over this great creation! It wasn't too sweet but it was definitely bursting with chocolatey goodness! I can have this everyday!

Such a lovely dining experience. We were the only guests that time and so we got superb service. Another thing worth mentioning were the complimentary desserts! Not one, but two! Wooohoo! We only ordered for one Perfect Soufflé but we were served with two and then a Creme Brûlée followed. Too bad I wasn't able to try it since my daughter wanted it all for herself 128514128514128514

it's a french-italian resto that opens only on fridays-sundays 6-11pm..

a good place to have a quiet sit down dinner with the family or with someone special..

reservations can be made for weekday dining for birthdays, reunions, or a proposal perhaps.. :)
