Our go-to place for delightful Filipino cuisine. The interiors are cute. The servers wear baro't saya and they only speak tagalog 'Isa, dalawa, NGITI!'.

Highly recommended: Garlic Adobong Tadyang and Dumaguete Express. A visit is never complete without a to-go order of their colorful puto.

I’ve been to XO46 a couple of years ago and I must say I did enjoy that experience. Excellent Filipino food indeed. When I learned that the place next door has been turned into an annex of sorts, with focus on Visayan dishes, I just knew I had to go. And I did! The place is really, really small though. Very cramped. XO46 is already cramped as it is – they take it a step further for the Visayan Room. Hehe. Somehow it works – sort of gives it a chaos-in-the-middle-of-a-great-fiesta vibe. Except that most folks are in corporate wear. =)

I wanted to order a lot as the menu was really interesting - plus the fact that you can order from XO’s regular menu as well. I had to restrain myself though as there were only the two of us. Here’s what we ordered. Ginataang Langka. Escabecheng Tilapia. Beef Ribs Kare Kare. Batchoy. The best for me was the Ginataang Langka – but really, everything is good. You just know that they’ve put a lot of care and effort in preparing the dishes. And then you wash it all down with sago’t gulaman. Banana Leaves as plates na lang ang kulang – piging na piging na!
