I was feeling a little under the weather today 128532 so Oliver decided to treat me to my happy place: Tim Ho Wan's Pork Buns. There was no queue and infact there are plenty of empty tables tonight.

We ordered Pork Buns, Congee, Hakaw, Spare Ribs, Bean Curd with Shrimp and Jasmine Tea. I was a little disappointed with tonight's Pork Buns as I felt that the filling was really konti... but It's still more than enough for two people. Everything was good and our bill was a little less than 900. The food made me feel a little better 128524

Sooo happy with the pork buns today!! They were absolutely perfect. Steamy barbequed pork filling inside crusty pastry 128076🏻 this is the dish that you go to tim ho wan for. Everything else, for me, is white noise 128514

I am one late bloomer 128517
Coz I just got, just now, get to join the craze for this place. But still I am wondering what's the buzz about it.

We ordered the following:

127775 Baked Bun with BBQ Pork -- the taste is superb. I like the sweetness of the pork inside the fried bun 128076🏻128076🏻

127775 Spring Roll with Egg White -- tasted weird maybe because it's egg white wrapped in spring wrappers 128533

127775 Prawn Dumpling -- 10084️10084️10084️

127775 Congee with lean pork, century egg and salted egg -- 10084️10084️ perfect for the 9748️ weather

127775 Pork Rib with Black Bean Sauce -- loved the sauce it's very nice 128076🏻128076🏻

Food service was fast. The downside is that when we billed out, the waiting time for paying is super long. I don't know why it's taking them so long 128531

Went here last night a little past 9am with my friend who told me "you should put 2 stars there or not review it at all." I don't know if she was just PMS-ing but since it's our first time to dine in (we usually just get free food from our parents), we were surprised at the very limited options we had.

Spareribs Rice, albeit having only around 6 pcs of spareribs, was good. Well, probably because it's the only rice meal that you would want to order. The Radish cake was okay and pure, unlike the tastier and enhanced version in Kanzhu. The prawn wasabi was yummy, and of course the baked bun was heavenly.

Since this is my friend's review, here's the filtered version of her experience in TimHoWan.
"Ang bagal ng service, eh 4-5 tables lang naman occupied. Mygahd, nag-aaway pa yung servers. Nakakawalang gana. Prawn puff is okay, spareribs is okay kasi no choice ka, radish cake is okay din, saving grace lang talaga ang bagong baked buns. Never again will I dine in. Wag mo ilagay yung photo ng baked buns (na maganda)."

I now believe she was just PMS-ing and nabuhusan ng galit ang Tim Ho Wan. 128528

Summary? Baked buns to go is the way to go!!! 128513

Tried their Pork ribs rice (Php175). The waiter put some sauce in it after serving. I guess that made this dish more delicious. It is placed in a metal container (what like most chinese resto do). Serving is fast (5 mins of waiting), and yes, the dish was hot.

Overall taste? Highly recommended most especially of the sauce that was poured.

The first time I ate at Tim Ho Wan quite late but just can't resist to try. Ordered there signature Baked bun with bbq pork (3 pcs. for Php 145). All I can say? One that will satisfy your cravings. The bbq pork is so delicious with some kind of sweetness. An alternative for the well known siopao but now comes with bread. I will definitely order this again.

Dined here with my sisters last December. I'm trying to finish all my Manila reviews and backlogs while I am here on vacation too. 128517

Their Pork Buns are just amazing, as always! So glad they're consistent with the recipes. Their Hakaw is mindblowing too! Everything they have on the menu is just awesome, all bursting with flavor! Whether it's just a dumpling, or fried tofu, each item on their menu is worth ordering! Plus the price is just right! 128077🏼128077🏼128077🏼

Fast lunch at Tim Ho Wan for the first year of the lunar year! We were seated fast, and they were full really quick.

We got the usual congee + pork buns combo and, as always, it did not disappoint!

What disappointed me was the not usual very slow service. Minus one star for this...

I crashed my mom's lunch with one of her friends... She asked me to drop her off at SM North yesterday but we DID NOT anticipate that kind of traffic... Standstill at QC Circle, grrr!128545

So I decided to play hooky and have coffee before diving right back into traffic... But my mom insisted that I join them for lunch... So, what's a daughter to do?128517

At 1130am, there was no line and we were immediately seated... We ordered pork buns (2 orders), poached veggies, pork ribs in black bean sauce, wasabi salad prawns, pork dumplings, and the vermicelli roll with pig's liver...

Of course, I love their bbq pork buns... No question about it... They have managed to maintain the great quality they have started with... Yey!128525

It was my first time to try their other bestseller, the vermicelli roll with pig's liver... I did not like it... Period...

It's my same sentiment for their pork ribs, I don't really like it... I have tried it before, did not like it, and did not bother to try it again...128513

Their poached veggies (pechay) came in their special sauce, which looks like soy sauce... But the sauce has a subtle flavor with a hint of sweetness... Not bad at all!128077

Their pork dumplings are okay, not their specialty... But the wasabi salad prawns is another must order at THW, at least for me... Love the crunch and the light wasabi taste...

Overall, I was happy with our lunch treat by my tita... Happy with the pork buns!128525 service was okay, not bad...

So this is the Pork Buns everyone is raving about. Hmmmm.... 🤔
I do get why people love these buns so much. It's different from the siopao that we're used to. The bread was really soft with a crisp outer shell. There was a slight sweetness to the bread that went really well with the pork filling. The pork filling tasted a bit like asado but not as sweet.
Personally, I think these buns are OK. Not really spectacular. I'd eat these again definitely but this is not something that I think I will crave for. In any case I'm not really fond of buns/siopao so I may be a bit biased. 128556

The Spinach and Shrimp Dumplings were really good! This is the first time I've had spinach in a dumpling and it tasted really refreshing/fresh. The flavors were very subtle and not overwhelming. I could finish two orders of those, good thing I still had a little bit of self control. 128518

Rice with Chicken, Sausage and Mushroom. It was OK. Just like other rice toppings that you can have in Le Ching or Luk Yuen.

Tim Ho Wan's strengths really are in their dumplings.

Wasn't too keen on going to Tim Ho Wan today because I didn't find anything special about their BBQ pork buns, but my friend insisted. And I'm super glad he did!!! We ordered poached veggies (pechay lang siya hehe), chicken, mushroom, and sausage rice, spinach & shrimp dumplings, prawn dumplings, and pork in bean sauce! And they were all so good 128557128557 Especially the rice and prawn dumplings!!! The chicken in the rice was so soft and literally melt in your mouth goodness!

Service is very efficient, albeit a little impersonal hehe.

Monday morning and I was having this severe congee craving. When I arrived here at SM North, i went straight to Mann Hann only to find out they removed it from their menu now. Went to Chowking right beside it, and also no congee anymore?!?! Why did they remove the congeeee?!?! Why? Chinese restaurants are expected to have one in their menu, imo! 128530128530128530

I totally forgot this mall has Tim Ho Wan, thank God I saw it while I was hangry-ly walking around the mall thinking of where I'll get my congee craving satisfied. Their congee is the best as usual. Pretty light and basic but I love it. Cooled my hangry-ness off. 128079🏻
