A good place for good cheap(er) coffee and food. And when I say cheaper i mean to use Starbucks as my benchmark. 128517

The bagel sandwiches, soup, and Timbits are sure winners. Muffins, paninis, and donuts are just alright. For coffee you gotta start with their specialty, the double double. Its sweet and creamy and gooooooddd. I could survive on a double double and birthday cake Timbits all day!

Nowadays the line isn't as hectic as before. OA kasi dati with everyone sumasabay sa hype. It can get crowded inside but the turnover is pretty quick and the line moves just as quickly naman.

Finally got to try their original brew "double double". As usual their brews are a lot more cheaper than Starbucks, but definitely not short on taste... it was good.. light to the taste but the kick was there. Also got their choclate eclair which was one of the best ones I've ever tried... 10084 this place... officially a Hortons' fan 128525

If you're a caffeine-fueled person like me, who cannot function without a good cup of Joe, then Tim Horton's is the new place for you. They're now open 24/7 to attend to your cravings any time of the day, any day of the week! 128516

I'm quite a big spender when it comes to coffee because I need good coffee to function well everyday. Too bad Tim Horton's is too far from work so I was only able to try it 2-3 weeks ago and I'm telling you, my 1st visit was worth it!

Their coffee ranges from P70-P150. It's cheap but the quality is superb! I would opt to get coffee at Tim Horton's everyday if they had a branch near work!!! Oh Tim, I hope you open a branch in Makati soon 10084

Tim Hortons was founded 1964 by Hockey Legend Tim Horton and they've been serving Canadian coffee and baked goods for over 50 yrs and last March they open its first branch in UG/F in UP Town mall BGC.

The place was full that first week and we patiently waited for the long lines just to try it.

So happy that finally Canada's world renowned coffee house here in Manila! We had icedcapp and timbits doughnuts

Aside from coffee their smoothie is good here also.

In fairness, even if there were long queue outside , the management were able to handle it, fast service and they have many staffs that time ready to accept the orders of huge crowd waiting to try this Canadian coffee shop in Manila .

I know people who reside in Canada, and everytime they'd go for coffee, they would always compare it to Tim Horton's saying its a lot better than what they're having at SB or any other coffee shop here in the Philippines. Thankfully it's now open here and located @ Uptown mall. Been wanting to tey it, but I always find myself going to a different shop since the line was always quite long. Finally! Was able to try it and it was one of the best coffees I've ever had. Came in, ambience and people were pleasant. Asked what was good over ice and they recommended their Iced Coffee. I got the Large size for only P95! It was comparable to a Venti size perhaps even bigger. The taste? It wasn't as sugar loaded as some would serve it. It had the perfect blend with just the right amount of ice. Next time will go for their famous original brew double double. 128076128076128076 A must try!

Didn't expect though that after tasting their donuts and drinks, i must say the trend was only over rated. Canadian based store made huge success of its pioneer location at the posh Uptown Mall in BGC. From there, it continues to expand its existence in Metro Manila with 2nd store in U.N. Avenue Manila and got to see its soonest store in Buendia Ave., Makati. I got excited to try this one, luckily i had to go in Uptown Mall so i had the chance to order some. Ordered a Vanilla Latté and a dozen of Tim Hortons donuts. It was hard for me to find a vacant seat but after having my orders, looked a vacant one as if it was really meant for me. Donuts were ugh, as if no special taste and not even remarkable though the content does not lack substance. I tried the assorted stuff in a packaging of a plain white box and the experience was kinda turn me off. The vanilla latté is a taste so sweet you'll never find it perfectly matched with the donuts. With its existence, i think this will only be a 3rd option with the available stores offering the same food.

It's been almost 2 months since Tim Hortons opened in Uptown, and I had no interest to try it YET due to the ridiculously long lines that could have me wait for an hour. Now that the craziness for this franchise from Canada has died down, it's time for me to step in and have a bite.

TIMBITS P10 each or P80/ 10 pieces
Who wouldn't want to try the cheapest item in Tim Hortons' menu? I got to try everything and here's what I have to say about each:
-Birthday cake: the best of the bunch. It's not really the to-die-for level but it's my favorite of the five because it was moist and got the sweetness that I wanted.
-Chocolate filled: This one's like a bavarian donut with chocolate inside. I didn't like this because the chocolate tasted weird.
-Chocolate glazed: Usually this flavor's my favorite from other donut brands, but Tim Hortons' was DRY. It was disappointing.
-Strawberry Filled: Also like a bavarian donut with strawberry inside. Tasted typical.
-Old-Fashion Glazed: This one wasn't so bad as well. It was also plain had a bit of sweetness.

BOSTON CREAM P50
This is one of their premium/ signature flavors, and I liked it. It was a bit thicker than the usual donuts, it had some chocolate glaze on top and some cream filling.

HOT CHOCOLATE (SMALL) P100
AT first sip I was really charmed by this drink, but only then in the succeeding ones did I realize that it was a bit too sweet. I wasn't able to finish it.

My trip to Tim Hortons wasn't a waste as I did like some of their donuts, but it's still a bit more pricey than the places here, although the taste is not that different. They say the coffee is what's good, so if you're a coffee enthusiast, you might want to start there.

I ordered the Frozen Hot Chocolate and it was OK. I was expecting a more chocolate-y and sweeter drink. We also ordered Timbits and they were OK as well. Nothing special, Nothing I'd come back for very soon. 🙂

(Sorry, DD's Icy Choco and Munchkins pa rin!)

Got the chance to try Tim Hortons with a friend before yesterday's looloo rendezvoos at Hook. We wanted to see what the big deal is. Thankfully, there was barely any line so ordering wasn't a hassle.

Since barely drink coffee (tea ftw), I opted for the Iced Hot Chocolate. It was okay, nothing special. Had this taste that reminded me of Hershey's chocolate syrup.

I also had the Strawberry Shortcake. It looked nice, so I got tempted to try it. Again, nothing special. Pretty sweet too.

When it comes to the Timbits, Dunkin Donuts munchkins pa din. Always.

I've been hearing about this cafe from my friends and family in Canada. So I tried their latte (Php140), so loving their blend strong yet mild sweet taste. Ordered Timbits (Php10 each) the flavors I got were Old-Fashioned, Birthday Cake and Chocolate covered. I found it dry and I like Dunkin Donuts' munchkins better.

Last Friday, Cindy S and I decided to have our dinner at Uptown Mall. Since we still haven't tried Tim Hortons, we both agreed to have coffee first before our meals.

We arrived at around 9:30pm and the line was not that crazy outside. It's still long, we were sixth on the line outside, and there's another 10 people inside.

I ordered Cafe Mocha medium for 115php. It was cheaper than CBTL and Starbuck's version. The coffee taste was strong as it was bitter. I couldn't taste the chocolate though. I let Cindy have a sip, and she told me that it was actually good. I'm still not sure if I would agree.

Cindy ordered their Frozen Hot Chocolate (155php for large). It was refreshing but it's not chocolate-y enough for me. It was too sweet also. I'm not sure but I think I don't like the chocolate that Tim Hortons is using.

I also ordered a box of 6 donuts. It's really cheap for 200php. I got so excited for the Vanilla Dip one as it looks like what I had at Dunkin' Donuts recently. Uhmmm, to be honest, I think DD has a better version. The donut was beautiful, but the small candies on top were so hard to chew. It was overly sweet. It was just too much. I had hopes with the Chocolate Dip donut as it looks good as well. I thought it would be less sweet as it's just classic donut with chocolate on top. I was wrong. The chocolate on top was not chocolate. I mean it may be is, but it didn't taste like one. It's more of arnibal or maple syrup colored in deep dark brown resembling a chocolate dip. I wanted to be sure about my observation so I let my other teammates taste it. They didn't like it as well. Anyway, I'm sorry Tim Hortons. I promise to try your other drinks as I want to justify why you're so famous and loved by other people. Any suggestions what to order next time?

P.S. +1 star as the girl manning the counter was so respectful. She also helped me to understand their donuts better. They have classic and premium donuts. I only ordered the classic flavors, but I'll pass in trying the premium ones anytime soon. Maybe if I'm not going to fall in line for, uhmm, 30min?

Sad to say but I really was disappointed on my first visit here. Granted the line wasn't long because it was a bit late (shops were closing), so that wasn't so bad. I just wanted to smell and taste the coffee that I lived off of in Canada for months. But... *big sigh* I got a reeeeally watered down version of my usual (medium original 2C 1S). Maybe tinamad silang magsalang ng bago? Could barely taste the coffee. I mean, I wasn't expecting "great" coffee. Nobody in their right mind would say that about Tims, but, where'd the coffee go?? 128557128557128557

"Hortons" say what? Well, the Canadian coffee shop is here in Manila and a lot of people are going crazy about it! Remember the J. Co. hype? 128514

Anyway, so we are welcomed with long lines in front of the shop and anticipating that it would take us forever to order. But good thing, 15 minutes had passed and lucky we were able to get some seats. We ordered the following:

- Large Hot French Vanilla (P 125)
- Large Original Blend with Hazelnut Syrup (P 115)
- Large Frozen Hot Chocolate (P 155) - Weird? Frozen then Hot? 128514

The coffee are just OKAY. Literally it was just okay.. Haha. Nothing new, nothing special. The only thing I was happy is they made it decaf or probably not? I am not sure.

And when I asked
Me: Can you make it less sweet?
Tim Horton's Crew: No sir, it's already customized.

Uptown Mall:

For the hype, then try it out but for everyday coffee, probably not.

Let's meet at Tim Hortons, my friend says. This was last night, before 7pm. I said, 'are you crazy?, I don't want to line up, you would be too lucky to get a seat', I said. I walked in at 715pm, a number of tables were empty, I even got options where to settle. Has the hype disappeared too soon? Or maybe it was just a Tuesday? Some would argue it is the location, the Uptown area has not been populated enough since it opened.

I first tried this Canadian franchise in Dubai and I remembered rating them a 3.5/5. My experience here is a tad lower for all of what we had were nothing worth raving about. I heard from another that Dunkin' Donuts' munchkins are still better. And as I tried three of their chocolate donuts, I could agree with that statement. It's soft, not airy but they are way too sweet even for a Filipino palate. For one, the Boston Cream's filling was crazy sugar.

For sandwiches, I made a mistake of telling them to skip the mayonnaise. It's sad though they put so much of this spread. I barely enjoyed my Tuscan Chicken, ate only half. The Steak Sandwich was better with its beef tasty, soft and not chewy. I wished the breads were toasted better as well. The side Potato Wedges (comes with a combo with ice coffee) were the highlight, as this were served fresh, well seasoned and not greasy.

Finally, the noodle Soup at Php 115 was a decent deal. I would have wanted some Vegetable soup for the same price but they ran out. I don't get this out of stock though when it was still early in the evening and they not having so much customers from previous days.

Regardless of these, I still recommend a visit here. I was not able to try their coffee that night but they do serve a wonderful cup of caffeine. Go and explore as well their cookies, muffins and their bagels.

A Canada native invaded our shores. Tim is here!

My inner coffee junkie got a lit giddy because of Tim’s arrival. Rumor has it that their coffee is really good. So here I was, joining the bandwagon. I said yes to an invite for breakfast at Tim’s one morning. I complied as morning is synonymous to shorter lines. We arrived at Uptown a lil after 10am and there were a couple of patrons in line. The wait time is quick, I stayed in line for less than two minutes and placed my order in a jiffy. I was still on my way to our table when my name is called. WHOA! That was lightning fast! My coffee and apple fritter is ready. Okay, I am impressed.

The verdict.

Coffee. I got the Double Double thingy as this was recommended by the staff. I coughed Php 100 for a medium cup. The coffee is okay in terms of taste – average coffee flavor and not overly sweet. There is not much to rave about. While I was finishing my cup, I realized that I am better off with Bo’s. I will no longer support international coffee chain and buy homegrown.

It is totally different story with the Apple Fritter. I loved every bite! The pastry is soft and not overly sweet. I taste apples and cinnamon. This is probably the one thing that will make me come back to Tim’s loving arms.

I got a box of the mini donuts. My band of misfits loved it.

P.S.

Three stars for the coffee. Four for the Apple Fritter.

I decided to have Tim Horton's as my "BAON" for the movie, A Dog's Purpose. It was still two hours before screening time so I started with coffee. Baka makatulog ako sa sinehan. 128517 I am not coffee savvy and cannot compare this in details with the other brands but I have been to a lot of coffee shops so I think I can distinguish which ones better but this is to my liking. I got their brewed coffee and upgraded it to a Tim Double Double. Actually, I did not ask about what was doubled because I was so eager to sit down after lining up for half an hour. Well its brewed coffee still and I think there's nothing really special about it. Ok naman..

For the movie, I got 20 pieces of timbits and their Pomegranate Cooler. The drink was good and very refreshing. The timbits were also delicious but I won't choose this over DD munchkins.. hehe

Glad to have Tim Horton's, the more the merrier indeed for coffee shops. Donuts are good all of them including the Timbits! Try the bagel and cream cheese too, lovely.

I do not like how they prioritize the senior citizens. I asked the nice staff if there is a line for senior citizens since my Mom wanted to try out their coffee. We were told that the senior may sit and a companion will still have to line up. There is no place to sit! The place is so crowded. We only wanted to buy a cup of coffee and probably a doughnut to go with it. What if the senior citizen is all alone? You will still ask them to line up? Will visit again once the hype dies down. But for now we are sorely disappointed.

Tim Hortons is the newest hype at Uptown mall. The line do build up especially employee free hours. They supposed to be 24 hours open but they had problem with the mall, a server said, it was a good thing that i made it to their cut off.

128204128525 double double combo of cookie @PhP100
Get a small brewed coffee with double cream and double sugar and a classic cookie. You may diss the double sugar just like what i did (so double nlng siya ndi na double double). The cookie that i got was peanut butter. It was sweet and dense in the mouth. If you like the presto peanut cookies, it tastes similarly.

128204 tomato and mozz panini @PhP180 single
You could opt for a combo for 250s i think, but i did not let like my panini flavor that much. I was thinking of melting mozarella cheese. But the thing about my order is it's a literal kamatis at keso with mayo. Keso na inislice lang. LOL

But i do like Tim Hortons because the serving size is bigger. You'll have your fill of your basic coffee needs by just ordering the small size.

Ill he back for their french vanilla. Hoping it's hype would die down a bit.

Service is good! They're well prepared!

CR is out of service though.
