My officemate is a member of the place and she invited us on a Saturday to relax here. The place was an hour and a half from Fairview. Om the day we went there, it was rainy so the roads were muddy. It was literally on top of the mountains so the weather was nice. As visitors, we had to pay for using their facilities. They have lap pool, sauna, jacuzzi, wall climb and gym. We only used the pool and the jacuzzi though. We had lunch there and food was expensive. We paid about 200-300 each for lunch. The place was quite nice for a day trip to relax and I think even better if you stayed overnight but it comes at a price though.

Been here twice when We've conducted our department business planning and sportfest here.

Wifi is very limited only in the ballrooms. Mobile data signal is nonexistent.

Food is so-so, typical for a banquet setting.

Im surprised to see several bikers in the area in the mornings. Apparently Timberland has several trails here.128690

The paved road of "Shotgun" is one of the hardest to climb.

Shotgun is located in the area of Timberland Heights. The place's name doesn't sound very friendly at all!

Not a lot of people bike here as only the brave take this road. 128514

Once you reach the summit, you'll see the awful air pollution in Metro Manila (check out bottom left photo, you'll see the smog!)

As always, make sure that your brakes work properly as the way down is the most dangeorus part of the ride.

Other info about the Shotgun Rd. / Mt. Maarat:

• 450MASL
• Well-paved
• Some trucks take this road so watch out!
• It was called "Shotgun" because biking it would be like being shot with a shotgun 128514

Why not 5 stars? No trees. I was scorched by the sun!

Had one of our business plannings here. It was okay, the rooms were small. Data signal is weak, but they provide wifi, some areas weak too. Only meal we really enjoyed was breakfast as it was the good ol' comfort food (tapa, longganisa, tuyo, dilis, champorado). 128077

We spent a weekend in Timberland. The place was great for family bonding. Not a crowded area, great facilities, good food but not to pricey and great staff. My family had a great time in this place. We got a barkada room with 4 single beds. Beds were comfortable the room is clean and the bath is huge and clean as well. The place offers different amenities which are all well maintained. They have indoor sauna and jacuzzi, playroom for kids and gym for health buffs. They also have 3 pools one of those is an olympic size pool ( thats how they describe it).

Their inhouse restaurant offers food that are delectable yet and suprisingly not too pricey. Cant wait to go back to this place. Getting there is just a little difficult if you dont have a ride, the place is like on the mountain with steep road.

The only IMBA (International Mountain Bicycling Association) certified bike trail in the country.

Timberland comes to mind when it comes to steep uphills, dangerous downhills, and challenging trails. Composed of different trail zones based on difficulty. I've only tried the easiest trail, the green zone.

But before reaching the different trails, you have to climb 3 "walls". 1st wall is the longest and steepest -- which makes it the go-to place when it comes to improving one's climbing skillz. 128692

When compared to food, this is the main dish of all the walls. 127830

I got off my bike and rested 4 times on my first try. But yesterday, I only rested twice! I'm glad I improved! 128514

Wall 2 and 3 are easy as pie.

But before entering Wall 2, you have to leave an ID card at the guard house. This is to make sure that they keep track of the people in the area.

Green zone trail is actually the easiest with short climbs and descents. Unfortunately for us, we had to go through mud and clay as it rained the day before.

I highly suggest that you bring the following stuff:

1. Lots of water
2. Extra interior tubes
3. Air pump (for those who still use tubes)
4. Some snacks if you're going the trail
5. Mini toolkit
6. Your bike
7. Helmet. Strictly no helmet, no ride.

Timberland is a great place to practice your MTBiking skills. And not a lot of cars go here either! The perfect place for bikers. No wonder why it's called "bike heaven". 128076128693128692

Very nice club. Complete sports facilities: badminton court, basketball nd volleyball court, pingpong, wall climbing etc. They also have spa jacuzzi and steambath, and salon. The only thing i dont like about this place is that the passage ways from one facility to another is not well thought of

Ideally this is the best natural place for a walk/jog. Also, bikers are here to trail the steep road before you get there. 128522

If you want to experience total relaxation together with the whole family, this place is the place to be! Just 45 mins. to an hour away from the metropolis. I'm pretty sure everyone would love to go swimming in their 3 pools. One is what seems to be an infinity pool. My kids love their sports activities such as lawn and table tennis, basketball, wall climbing and mini kids play center. Rooms are spacious, clean and service is good. But what I love most is the breathtaking scenery of Sierra Madre mountains...128077128077128077128077128536128515
