Spent the 1st of January dining out with my HS friends here at Tiolo's.

Tucked at the main road of Antipolo, they offer steak, BBQ and a lot more dishes for you to choose from.

We went there at around 9pm and most of the dishes were out of stock.

I ordered their bestseller Seafood Carbonara and I really liked it. The sauce was really milky and creamy, paired well with the al dente pasta and the crab sticks, shrimps, and mussels that were generously served.

I also got a taste of their Mashed Potato which was a little like pudding in texture, it was mushy and extra soft after every bite?

The juices, sodas, and shakes were served in large glasses that are really affordable in many ways.

Definitely coming back asap! 128077🏼

Meals are reasonably priced and food is good too. We ordered Pinoy Style Barbecue for only Php55 (comes with java rice and coleslaw), Tenderloin Tips, Baby Backribs and Round Eye.

Sometimes "just like mom used to make" isn't always a good thing when it comes to restaurants.

Tiolo is a small restaurant, with a simple menu and a simple interior. They serve anything from soups to pasta, to steaks and barbecues.

You can have a meal here for a hundred bucks, give or take a few tens. Two hundred will probably get you fully loaded.

A pork chop for around a hundred bucks told me that I should be careful in choosing my dish. For the same price, I can get a thin overcooked pork chop in a food court, but since this is a restaurant, I was wary of the way the pork will be cooked. So, I ordered a cordon bleu (not pictured because it looked smothered in cream sauce).

I was right to get chicken. My sister got the pork chop, and though it was half an inch thick, it was also really tough. Otherwise, it was nice actually. The chicken cordon bleu was... Weird. It tasted like really sweet chicken curry wrapped in breading. I think my mom was lucky because she got a salmon steak that looked well cooked and well seasoned.

It's not all bad though. Every dish comes with a giant cup of rice, and the dishes exude that homemade vibe and kinda makes you feel like you went home to mom.

But that's exactly the downside of it - there's a reason your house isn't a restaurant. Frankly, carinderia fare is much better for the price.

My seafood carbonara is better.
T-bone steak is so-so plus the mashed potato is cold.

I should've tried the steak!

The curse with being a home chef is that it raises your food standards a bit. In this case, I tried the

110php chicken cordon bleu - the curry inside and the Campbell based gravy did not work for me. Also, the chicken was dry. The potato salad on the side was the only bright spot on this plate

105php mango banana smoothie - rich and thick just the way I like it :)

Ambience is relatively excellent since there are only a few good eating places in Antipolo.

A small but nice resto. That has a great tasty bbq and T-bone for a reasonable prize.

I wanted to try their steak so we gave it a shot. Nothing special though and serving's not that hefty since price is cheap. Quite nice ambiance though.

Good old pinoy steaks.

Tiolo is a simple restaurant with a decent menu. We've eaten here twice and every time there are a good number of tables filled. The service is good for the type of place it is.

We like to order the Tbone/ porterhouse steak. It's a reliable pinoy style steak, cut thin, cooked well done and smothered with gravy and smells like garlic and Knorr. It's good comfort food at a reasonable price. we've seen others order the sisig and lumpiang ubod. It looked good though we haven't tried it.

The spaghetti with meatballs are a waste of time. It has a sweet sauce and the meatballs are reminiscent of embotido.

Give the steaks a try. It's worth a try when you are in the area.
