After a tiring but fun and learning morning at Pinto Art Museum, we decided to have lunch at Tipulo Modern Filipino Cuisine located inside the First Pacific Leadership Academy, Sumulong Hi-way, Antipolo City.

THE PLACE

Tipulo is named after Tipulo Tree which was abundant in Antipolo. This native tree can be found inside the compound of First Pacific Leadership Academy and some of the dried leaves are framed and decorated within the walls of Tipulo Restaurant.

Tipulo Modern Filipino Cuisine is under the management of Manila Catering Service.

THE FOOD

127811Tinapa Lumpia for Php135.00 (Smoked Bangus Flakes and Vegetable Spring Roll served with Spicy Vinegar) - 11088110881108811088️ 4/5
"Actually we were expecting and visualizing the lumpia size is the size of Lumpiang Shanghai but it's not, it's the size of Lumpiang Togue. It's big and affordable for its price. Average serving is 4 pcs per plate."

127811Gising Gising for Php135.00 (Green Beans and Pork Sauteed in Coconut Cream and Chili) - 11088110881108811088️ 4/5
"Yes, it is spicy. I like the combination of coconut milk and shrimp paste with the pork and the beans)

127811Kare Kare for Php360.00 (Stew of Beef Tail, Tripe and Flank in Peanut Sauce with Steamed Pechay, Eggplant, Banana Heart and Long Yard Beans served with Homemade Bagoong) - 11088110881108811088️ 4/5

127811Caldereta for Php345.00 (Beef Stew in Tomato Sauce with Carrots, Peas and Potato) - 1108811088110881108811088️ 5/5
"My favorite during our lunch. I love the saucy caldereta and the beff is so tender."

127811Fried Chicken for Php305.00 (Simmered in flavorful stock with herbs and aromatics then deep fried, served with potato chips and pan gravy) - 11088110881108811088️ 4/5

127811Chocolate Chips Cookies for Php145.00 for Big Jar and Php99.00 for Small Jar - 1108811088110881108811088️ 5/5
"The chocolate chips cookies are chuncky and not that sweet. And it is very affordable"

THE SERVICE

The service staff were distracted with Donaire and Pacquio's boxing fight during our visit. They even forgot our orders and request of their assistance to refill our empty glass with water.

I will going back again to this restaurant although the service didn't went well due to the boxing fight of Donaire and Paquioa. Because I like the food and ambiance of TIPULO Modern Filipino Cuisine. And it's affordable.

Celebrated Father's Day last Sunday with my family. I decided to find a perfect and serene place for this special day. We drive to Antipolo to stay away from the busy city. We went to Tipulo Modern Filipino Cuisine as hubby wants to eat a Filipino food that's why I made some research a week before Father's Day on where are we going to eat.

Tipulo is located at First Pacific Leadership Academy Sumulong Hi-Way Antipolo City.

127807 Hours Operation
Mon-Sat 7:00-11:00 pm
Sunday 7:00-10:00 pm

127807 How to get there: Take the Sumulong Hi-way and start ascending to upper Antipolo until you reach the blue gates of FPLA right side on the road in front of Galaxi gasoline station.

127807Tipulo is a modern Filipino cuisine that offers the best traditional , yet straight forward Filipino food with a fresh and modern twist.

127807Trivia: Tipulo (/ti-pû/lo ) means Good Voyage, Good Food.

127807Tipulo is named after the tree which Antipolo City is said have to gotten it's name, the Tipulo Tree or Artocarpus blancoi is symbolic of the city's deep faith and spirituality.

127807It is said the image of Antipolo's virgin patron , the Nuestra Senora dela Paz y Buenviage ( Our lady of peace and good voyage ) appeared atop a Tipulo tree three times in the 1600's. This is believed to have given home and comfort to the people of Antipolo during a time when an unknown sickness plaqued it's residents. In place of the historical Tipulo tree now stands the Virgin of Antipolo Shrine, known as the Antipolo Cathedral , which has become a pilgrimage destination of travelers and sea-farer.

127807Considers to be a common plant related to jackfruit. Tipulo tree can be distinguished by its lush foliage and gigantic fan like leaves. Natives of Antipolo have relaxed and enjoyed under the shade of Tipulo tree branches. Today , Tipulo tree has become endemic and can rarely be seen in the city.

127807because Tipulo tree has significance to the city where First Pacific Leadership Academy is located , they have committed keeping its legacy alive. The Academy is a care taker of three full grown Tipulo Trees , along with 20 more that they have planted along the premises.

We got there around 9am and it's open already, there were a lot of parking space in the area as this property was so big. We choose our seats which is nearer on that swimming pool which has a really great view of the restaurant.

I heard of their best seller Tipulo Ultimate Adobo. What can I say to this hearty adobo topped with adobo flakes , nestled on a fried egg, sitting atop a steaming serving of adobo-sauce-ified rice! Cost only 190 pesos! It's more than just breakfast. We also had spicy Asian noodles and of course Father's Day won't be complete without a good dessert, Molten lava cake, I've been a fan of lava cake and this one is different , presentation is different as well as the taste, dessert with a twist. The breakfast meal comes up with free coffee or orange juice. They also have wifi here. Service was fast and the servers were accommodating.

Here at Tipulo Modern Filipino cuisine you can enjoy simple delicious meal in peace , among verdant greenery, less than an hour from the busy city of Manila.

127807hidden gem tuck away in the heart of Antipolo City.

Had their boneless chicken inasal. It was really tender ng tasteful as how an inasal would be like. Also had their kare-kare which was rich in flavor. Partnered it with their bagoong rice, but was not as expected as it lacked the bagoong flavor. The place though was great... authentic Antipolo!

Ambience was very inviting.. It is located inside the First Leadership Academy Compound in Antipolo. Aside from completely green and clean surroundings, they aslo have a mini rain forest and a small pool within the compound. We werent able to roam around though because of the heavy rain.

Highly recommended for family dinning!!

Decided to treat my sister to lunch for driving us to and from my daughter's preschool activity. Place is pretty quiet, surrounded by lush greens, this resto is just a stone's throw away from AA. Good place to have a quiet Filipino fusion meal.

This is one of the gems of Antipolo that is literally hidden! Tucked inside the First Pacific Leadership Academy, this fine restaurant serves modern Filipino food that one would crave for. The Kinilaw na Tanigue that I ordered for starters really built up an appetite! Good thing they had it in small servings. Otherwise I would have it for my main course as well! LOL. I had Bagoong Rice and Chicken Inasal for my main dish. And I must say I never had Bagoong Rice like this before! It's like java rice made flavorful with a hint of bagoong. The vinegar that came with the Inasal also added to the fullness of the flavor! The Inasal was also very good with atchara (pickled papaya) on the side. A very nice Holiday treat indeed!

I revived my pilgrimage to Antipolo last Sunday and made sure to check out the best places to eat. I came upon Tipulo. The location is a refreshing break from the crowded cathedral and the place is well-maintained. It was a really hot day and though it's al fresco dining, the gardens around it provided a cool and comfortable backdrop. Staff was attentive, can't complain. We ordered Crispy Tilapia, Crispy Dinuguan and Deep-fried Ice Cream for dessert. I'm not a fan of Tilapia but I enjoy it once in a while. This one had the bones in so it wasn't convenient. Taste was so-so. The Crispy Dinuguan is nothing compared to that of Kanin Club. It's not at all crispy. :( But the sauce was the right blend of sweet and sour for me. The highlight was the fried ice cream. This, for me, was the saving grace. Cheese Ice Cream covered in soft yet crispy dough lined with sweet peanut butter. It was heaven! I'd come back when I get the chance but I'd probably order something else. 3 stars for now.

Great food and ambience! :)

What we ordered:

Adobo Pate with Bread Crisps - mixed pork & chicken liver adobo Pate. The bread crisps was a bit over cooked/ too toasted. Not really a fan of anything that is or has "liver" but this one's tolerable. Haha

Kani Maki Salad - instead of the typical "raw" Kani, they used fried Kani and it compliments with the sweet/sour vinaigrette dressing.

Beef Calderata - Yummmmmmy! 128523128523128523 hahaha

Surely, we'll be back soon! 128522

Their version of the Molten Lava cake is a looker I just wanted to stare at this but the ice cream was melting so I had to gobble this up.

House specialty is the ubiquitous Beef Caldereta. The resto is tucked in a green oasis inside the First Pacific Leadership Academy surrounded by tall Tipulo trees where the word Antipolo was supposedly derived.

If you desire peace and solitude and the "away from it all" dining experience try this.
