If there's Conti's, there's Tita Mennie's! Lol! K anyway, I've been eyeing on this place for quite some time now, but only got to try it lastnight. We went here to grab a quick bite before our massage.

It had to be something light, so I only ordered a short order of pancit bihon. I also got chicken empanada to go with the pancit. I think they're known for their chicken empanadas because the display shelf was cleared out when I left the place. Hehe super good! The crust was perfect! It wasn't flakey or falling apart. The filling was just kind of bitin. It wasn't as stuffed, but I was so happy it didn't have green peas, like other empanadas I've tried. Haha I wanted to take 4 pieces home but there were only 3 left available for me.

The pancit was good too. It was not oily and the sahog ratio was on point! Also, it was a biiiiig serving for a "short order". Hehe it would've been good for 5 people. But since we were only 2, I took the rest home and shared with the family! 10084

I'll definitely come back to try Tita Mennie's other Filipino specialties! I heard her laing is pretty good! 128523

We've always wondered about this restaurant each time we pass it. One Sunday lunch, we were able to find a parking slot and were greeted by a homey relaxing atmosphere all decked in blue and white.

On the table
🔹Pork with Monggo - lola loved this. There were ampalaya slices too
🔹Fried Bangus with Garlic - i enjoy anything with crunchy garlic and it was such a treat to taste this. The fish was huge.
🔹Beef Caldereta - it lacked the spicy kick i expect from a Caldereta dish but it was good. I think they mixed in some cheese.
🔹Lumpiang Prito - we liked the veggies and the dipping sauce
🔹Rice - served in a giant ramekin. A lot for someone who doesn't have a big appetite
🔹Salted Caramel Cake - their bestseller. Luscious moist chocolate cake with rich caramel icing. Diabetics must keep their distance.

We hit the jackpot with this restaurant that serves home cooked Filipino dishes. Hubby's Lola's kind of place.

*they also sell breads, pastries, whole cakes and ulam to go

A little pricey for this small serving. These 2 plus rice costs more than P600 already. And, I cook better caldereta 128514 #yabang

I agree with the first review except for the price. At this location (Maybunga, Pasig) a meal that costs more than P350/person is a bit expensive for me. The food is very good though. It's really your typical lutong-bahay fare. The ginataang laing is the best I tasted in a long time - very rich in coconut oil and seasoned just right. The beef mushroom is really tender and has good favors. The place is clean and cozy and the staff, very friendly. We didn't try the cakes/pastries but will definitely come back.

If it was a tad less expensive, I'd have given this place 5 star rating.
