The Classic Kaya Toast meal for P165 is loved 128151 I love their classic singapore dishes like Hainanese Chicken and Kaya Toast. It tastes authentic singapore food.

But, I didn't like the service of this branch. The staff were unfriendly, they did not give a positive vibe. When I was at the counter, it took a while before they attended to me (made me feel that I was a nuisance to what they are doing). And then when we got a table, it also took a while before they clean the table. 128543 A lot of staff were passing in front of us but they did not bother to clean it. The table was wiped clean at the exact moment when our order arrived.

At least we still enjoyed the food, this is good for a snack, but again the bread was too toasted for me. Ergh. And it was only then that I realized that the butter(?) was just at the one side of the bread haha Anyway, I don't feel like coming back to this branch, it ruins my good perception of toastbox. I considered that maybe the service was bad because there were a lot of customers, but nah. 128529

I just realized yesterday that i still had a coupon for toastbox that is expiring real soon. So instead of going straight home on a friday night and took advantage of the lax traffic, i went here instead.

So the dilemna was how i would wisely spend my 500 coupon by myself. After a while i decided to go for hainanese chicken meal, kaya toaat set meal and a barley drink.

I had to order a seperate drink coz i was told that for my coupon they wont include drinks for their set meals 128562 and i was charge of a set meal price. Holy cow. Just call it ala cart. But the kaya toast set meal the teh tarik was included. 128556128549 now i was really confuse.

Moving on, hainanese chicken was just okay. I bet i can cook better hainanese chicken. Kaya toast was so so. While the condense milk was sitting at the bottom of the teh instead of being mixed. Took out the kaya toast and was charge P10 for some ordinary bag while drinks cant be taken out. Talk about a place for breakfast on the go.

Overall, it doesnt evoke the same atmosphere as the toastbox chains abroad. I have issues with the cashier collecting money, preparing toast and at the same time mopping the floor. 128533

My comfort food--Chicken Rice! I miss Singapore… so a Toastbox dinner is in order. No matter how I think I should order another meal here, I still end up ordering the Quarter chicken rice meal (P259) + Iced lemon tea (P40 for the upsize).

Place is not crowded. This is also my reason for choosing this on a Friday swelday. Iced lemon tea is real brewed tea with 2 slices of lemon. You have to squeeze the lemon yourself to get the lemon flavor. Though I know it's the sugar that makes it taste good, I still love their version.

The dips are bitin! Hehe. But they gave me a refill when I asked for more so ok na. Chicken is tender and the soup is tasty and super hot. Rice is flavorful.

My tummy, as well as my soul, is full.

I always said that you can never go wrong with chicken. Whenever you think you don't know what you're ordering, chicken will always be a safe choice. How it's cooked though, that's a different story.

In one of our trips to the mall in search of my kiddo's ballet apparel, Cherienne wanted to eat cold noodles. Unfortunately, we weren't able to eat where she wanted because all tables were full. So we opted for the next best thing. The store beside it. Lol 128513

Eating at Toastbox always required an order of their Hainanese chicken and milo dinosaur (it's a drink). 128540

I always enjoyed the ginger and sweet paste you use for chicken sauce-a-majig and the rice. Woohooo! Cherienne loves the chocolate drink!

IMHO, the way the ginger was prepped and how it mixes with the chicken makes a great blend and is the selling point to my chicken cravings. I never liked half-cooked chicken but this is an exemption. 128525 #MedyoAddictSaHainanChicken

I did try the barley drink. Not that impressive but not eckhhh 128529 It's something new to me, blandly sweet and nibbly at the same time. Literally, there was barely in the drink. (Muka siyang maliliit na corn nung binatog!) 🤔

One noteable item that took Clarissa P's attention was the iced tea. In her terms, "nakakailing sa sarap!" LOL 128563128513🤔128557 She also took the spicy laksa.

Anyway, a visit to Toastbox is always a win for me. The prices are good versus the food that is served. 128077128077128077128077

Laksa was alright. Not mind-blowingly good but ok. The chicken rice, however, was a tad salty.

Good thing there was enough hoisin sauce to temper the saltiness. Lesson learned: When craving for chicken rice, stick to Wee Nam Kee.

Then again, the laksa was delicious the first time I tried this joint, so maybe the chef was having an off-day. #mercuryretrograde

Had the Ham & Cheese sandwich for Php 169 pesos. It comes with free coffee or tea, additional 15 pesos if you want it cold. There are a couple of other sandwiches to choose from, as well as toast (not surprisingly) and rice/noodle meal (surprisingly).

Sandwich is really good. Sweet ham with a thin slice of cheese and some fresh vegetables squeezed between perfect toasts. Ice tea lemon is... well tea, with lemon (additional 10pesos) and ice haha. I mean, it's not the sweet tea that we Filipinos are used to. It's... tea. I asked for a cup or milk and 2 sachets of sugar. The drink became tolerable, but still not my kind of drink.

Had a tuna sandwich set with iced milk tea for only php184. I'll go through the sandwich components one by one: The bread is slightly golden brown and toasted just right. The veggies are fresh and crisp, and the tuna filling tastes good (tho slightly sour). Overall, the sandwich is delicious. 128077🏻
Iced milk tea is authentic tasting- by authentic, i meant that it tastes similar to the es teh (iced tea) i tasted in indonesia.
To me the price is reasonable. Will go back to try the other sets.

My favorite Singaporean dining place! I love the kaya toast, the coffee and soft boiled eggs. Its also one of the few places in the Metro that serves Iced barley and Horlicks. Tost Box is where i get to enjoy my kind of comfort food!

I haven't been to toast box in a while. While my daughter and I were looking for a restaurant to eat after some Christmas shopping in SM Aura, she saw Breadtalk and asked me to get her some baon. Then she said she was hungry and wanted some noodles. Good thing Toast Box was in the same area, sharing the store space with Bread Talk.

Her fave Toast Box order is the Luncheon Meat Noodle. A hearty bowl of noodle soup with one thick slice of luncheon meat, boiled egg, veggies and ground meat. It's pretty good - simple and salty and warm. She enjoyed it.

I got myself a Kaya Toast with Cream Cheese Set with Milk Tea as the drink. Perfectly toasted bread with generous filling, I just wish there was more lol The set came in with 2 soft boiled eggs which Cherienne enjoyed too. Milk Tea was okay.

I love chicken rice! So if you're into Singaporean cuisine, try this place. I like their black sauce for the chicken. The rice is very flavorful too. You can also order some cakes at the Bread Talk area. Iced lemon tea tastes like those served by hawkers in SG, which I really like. Whenever I crave for chicken rice and kopi, this is where I go.

I was finally able to try their Milo Dinosaur! Very worth it for only 120 pesos. What was great about this joint is that it also has a bread talk inside so I paired by big ass Milo Dinosaur with some Floss!! Yumm. Perfect combo!

Toast Boxing in Headphones.  (loosely derived from LDV's book of poetry).  You may have noticed my excessive use of wordplay in my previous reviews.  I say,  it's gonna go on for as long as my neurons are working.  You have to get used to it.  128522

After a quickie stopover at the supermarket,  i decided to hang at Toast Box.  The SM Aura branch is small,  8 tables.  White interiors make the joint look spacious.  Wood is predominant,  from the tables down to the chairs.  Even the wall is adorned with decorative items made of the same material.  The space looks homey and has the bed and breakfast vibe.

I ordered the blueberry with cream cheese combo,  skipped the coffee,  settled for cold milk tea.  The service was fast,  the food is served a couple of minutes after i settled on my table.  The milk tea is good as expected.  Not too sweet,  subtle hints of tea.  Was it me or the toast is smaller now,  albeit the size,  the combination of blueberry preserves and cream cheese is delicious.  Cream cheese tones down the sweetness of the jam.  My only comment is that the cheese slice is too small.  I love soft boiled eggs.   Grams used to make this when i was a kid,  a staple in our breakfast table and she partners 'em with her chicken soup for merienda.  Toast and soft boiled eggs is a killer combination.

As for the other dishes they offer,  tried the Nasi Goreng before,  it was okay.  Their laksa looks promising,  next visit perhaps.

Kaya Toast has been my default order here at Toast Box whenever I'm not on adventure mode. Kaya Toast has always reminded me of how we used to dip Star margarine-coated toasted pandesal to poached eggs when we were kids and it was already considered an adventure meal, setting it apart from the usual pandesal na sinawsaw sa kape.

To add some more flavor to my Kaya Toast, I usually add a teaspoon of soy sauce to the bowl of poached eggs. I always loved the butter here and matches the Kaya bread slice perfectly. I do wish they'd serve bigger bread slices to complement the two eggs.

Food quality and service has not changed with Toast Box since time memorial. With the limited dining area shared with Bread Talk, this place is usually crammed during lunch and dinner time but you do get your rewards of really good food and drinks once your order is served.

We ordered Horlicks and milo dinosaur to go last night. The lady who prepared our drinks didnt look happy to prep our order. We requested to have them mix the horlicks before covering the cup. She tried to mix it but in the end some of the horlicks powder ended up on their counter. The ladybwas still not smiling. Maybe she had a tough day. When i stirred my milo, it didn't get chilled enough so i had to wait till i got home to add more ice.

Was craving laksa so I decided to take a friend to go try it out. The food was good! And it was close enough to the bowls that I had in SG. My main problem with toast box here in PH was the service

Rainy Sunday calls for a bowl of hot, comforting noodle soup. Tried their Fishball Noodle Soup but taste was just okay. Soup was bland, but at least they didn't scrimp on the fishballs. I wanted to pair it with their yummy Kopi C but my mom won't allow me to order coffee. 128557

Mom had a plate of Char Kway Teow and she was obviously disappointed with it. Noodles were so sticky and soggy. She asked for sambal but their staff gave her something else (not sure what it was but it's like bagoong).

My sister had the Hainanese Chicken Chops but she said it tasted like ordinary fried chicken. The chops were breaded then fried, and served with hainanese rice. She had to pour the soup over the rice just to add taste.

Not satisfied with the service either. Slow! Plus a snotty cashier. 128529

I think I found my happy place. Ordered the laksa and it was quite good. Not as creamy and flavorful as Noodleworks' or Secret Recipe's (now defunct places), but if you've got a craving, this will do.

My toddler ordered the French toast which I had a bite of. Not bad! She washed it down with Milo dinosaur, and the frown lines on her face disappeared.

I like how fast our orders arrived. And their servers seemed pretty efficient.

Looks like I'll be back. 128523
