This place is strange.

True blue cool people flock to this place when it has a beatbox event or a sudden costume party. Be it drag queen night or stompers in their vintage boots. or a book exchange/knitting party soiree of sorts.

At the same time, faux hipsters also come here. Dressed in the latest branded clothing to experience something other than "Central".

Am I a snob? No.

They just stick out like a sore thumb here and they eventually don't like the place anyway.

Am I a snob? Maybe.

Don't get me wrong, I experienced Central type places too (even worse).

Millenials love this place.
Millenials seem to like hot places.

Maybe I'm old and I need great climate control anywhere I'm at.

Food is alright.
Skip the complicated food on the menu and go straight for the bar chowz
Beer is always cold.

There is always something to do here.
There is always something to see.

You don't come here to eat.
You come here to dance.
You come here to drink.
You come here to not be yourself.
You come here hoping you walk out a different person.

My favorite chill-out bar of all! I've tried almost every food on their menu, what can I say, the pizza was the best! Patrons usually come at past midnight so you can hangout with everyone. The bar's theme and music change every night to catch up with your mood. You gotta love the DJ's playing good-ole slow jams and beats to make you dance on their dancefloor haha. Also check out their book shelves for the bookworm in you haha. And it's the best place for the artsies as they also cater art exhibits and launches.

They deliver pizzas BTW at :)

Place was jampacked when we got there. They had an event that's why. People were crowding outside the place, and disperse when vehicles pass by.

It was one hot night but seeing the diverse crowd happy makes me smile. I say diverse because different types of people go here - the corporate, the power dressers, the goth and the emo, the hippie, the cross-dressers. And the good thing about the place, nobody cares! Plain fun!

I was supposed to give the place a 3-star rating. The interior was really small, hence people end up crowding outside to - if not drink or smoke - gasp for air. Inside is pretty cool as well with all the artsy stuff and the neon lights.

But what made me give a 4-star rating is how the crowd enjoy the street party. I was overwhelmed with the culture of the crowd that Today x Future brings together. Will definitely go back to this happy place.

"No man is rich enough to buy back his past. But every man has a Future to toast to Today."

These are the very wonderful words painted on the doors of probably my most favorite place in the world — Today x Future. And to celebrate its 7th year (which I attended last night together with hundreds of people), I'm here to give it a great review!

Why is it my favorite place in the world?

Today x Future is one of the best hole in the wall concept bars you’ll ever see in Manila. And that can be backed up with 7 fantastic years of being open to all kinds of people, music, and fashion ideas that enter their doors. Not to mention the number of really cool artists that usually hang out here — Marc Nicdao, BJ Pascual, Regina Belmonte, Raymond Gutierrez, etc.

The whole idea behind it is also really, really interesting. It’s technically like a secret bar from the future that houses all these trinkets that we all knew from the past. There are old books, vinyl records, pop culture mementos, old TV sets around that you can freely check out while you’re inside. Every single corner of this bar is literally exploding with art.

Another thing I love about this place is how small it is – the floor is just twice or thrice the size of my room. And because of its limited space, the music they play somehow feels richer and experiences become more intimate. It’s almost like you can feel every beat all throughout your body. And sometimes when the place is packed with people, you can just opt to sit outside with your beer and you’re good to go. The place is THAT great that I don’t even mind standing outside or sitting on sidewalks for long hours. To be honest, I could spend the whole day here with my boyfriend or my friends. It’s the perfect place to escape and to be completey free. I guess it really is my favorite place in this world.

Aside from their music and fantastic interiors, their food is also worth checking out. They have fries, burgers, wings and pizza that are to die for. I have only tried a couple of their food and already I’m blown away. Drinks here are fairly priced unlike the big clubs that charge 150-200 per bottle. My favorite drink here is their ‘My Shirota’ — it’s a mix of soju, yakult, and a bit of tequila rose. It’s so delicious you have to order two or more of it to be completely happy. Haha!

Now if you’re tired and bored of your usual party or beer place, you should definitely time travel to Today x Future and experience a really great time like no other. It’s the best place to unwind, meet new people, and have a great time with friends. It’s a place where you don’t need to be fancy to fit in — just be yourself and that’s it.

PS: It’s LGBT-friendly!

Chichi T, Dastine S, and I went to Satchmi Fresh Filter Vol 1's acoustic gig in A-Space Manila last 12th of June, not just to celebrate Independence day but also to celebrate good local independent music. The show started at 8pm and we were there until the last band's performance.

The event was hosted by Satchmi & Jam 88.3 and co-sponsored with some media partners and productions. The drinks were provided by Today x Future from Cubao X. They had local beers and some special drinks crafted for everyone's taste.

I took a sip of Chichi's Shirota and find it good but didn't have too much of it or else my stomach would growl. We had few rounds of beer and was priced just right.

Thanks for bringing in some drinks, Today x Future crew! 128077🏼

On the photo: The Ransom Collective, Tandems '91 (Kirby G's favorite), BP Valenzuela & Flying Ipis.

I couldn't talk more about the gig because the venue wasn't in the DB. 128517

I used to love this place where I can pick up the strings of drunken memories of my youth until people start coming in. (I sound like a selfish kid there, but you get the feeling? Or maybe that's just me being anti-social. Haha.) I still like this place, don't get me wrong.

You can have your beer and sit in the gutter without anyone bothering you. Try it sometimes, it's fun. Also: Their buffalo wings is good. That and their music.
