Joined the bandwagon and tried the Sakura Unicorn Milkshake of Tokyo Bubble Tea to see if it's worth the hype (and the calories!)! I went for the Taro Flavor.

So, I wouldn't really call this a milkshake because it's ice blended. You can tell from the texture. It's basically an upgraded version of their Taro ice blended drink, which I like by the way. They've blended in some cotton candy giving it an extra sweet finish! Topped with colorful bubblegum flavored cream to give it that Unicorn colorful look, it was finished with vanilla soft serve (that was too icy!), a white chocolate covered cone and candy sprinkles!

It's pretty good! But it's not something buy again because there was just way too much sugar in it!

So I was walking down 2nd Ave. on my way home when I turned my head across the street and saw a poster. I stopped on my tracks and stared at it, it shows two glasses of a colorful drink, then it dawned on me that it's the unicorn shake that I read about recently on Looloo. And I was like, "Whoa! It's right there!" I always pass by Tokyo Bubble Tea and I didn't even realize that it's the subject of that Looloo review with the unicorn drinks.

So I stood there for a moment wondering what to do. I really wanted to try it but I am also on a diet. Yes, I have been trying clean eating for the past few days and this is so gonna ruin my diet. The reason I don't eat out a lot is because I am trying to get fit, but we all know that no amount of exercising is gonna cut it if you don't eat properly. But the call of the unicorn is too strong that I decided to walk in there and declared it my "cheat day."

And it's soooo worth it! Not only is it oh so pretty, it is, as a Looloo reviewer promised, delicious! I ordered the ube flavor (it also comes in strawberry), and the regular size goes for PHP 155. It has a scoop of vanilla ice cream, gold colored candy pellets, candy-covered ice cream cone, and pearls. It was so good I couldn't tell if it was milktea or shake. I just loved it!

I also tried their kimchi rice with chicken only it's not kimchi rice but java (they said kimchi rice is unavailable). Nevertheless it was really good, it was served on a hot plate with a sunny-side up egg. Very delicious meal that costs about 200+ bucks. Food here is a bit pricey but worth it.

I am going back for this unicorn drink on my next cheat day! 128540

This unicorn addiction of mine knows no bounds! 128525🦄 Unicorn? Milkshake? I got you, fam.

Norman Lester T and I visited Tokyo Bubble Tea last night so we could try their newest offering, the Sakura Unicorn Milkshakes! It's available in strawberry and taro flavor. Medium is 155php and large would be 165php. We ordered large for both flavors.

It was served in a huge mug and it's super pretty and definitely IG-worthy! 10084️ Yes we know it looks good but does it taste good? Amazingly, yes! I'll admit to not having my hopes up but the milkshakes were delicious! My first indicator of a yummy milkshake would be the "feeling mo tumataba ka" with every sip. And that was exactly how I felt. Lol. 128514

Mine was the Taro Sakura Unicorn Milkshake, it consists of large and small black pearls, oh-so-good taro milkshake, a good dose of vanilla ice cream, wafer cone coated with white chocolate with candy sprinkle (this is supposedly the unicorn horn, adorbs!), and lastly the rainbow colored gooey syrup that tasted like cotton candy/bubblegum. O diba, tunog pa lang nakakataba na, bes! 128514 I surprisingly enjoyed it. Try it for yourself! 🦄

Ordered the chicken teriyaki doria. It's rice topped with a layer of melted cheese and chicken fillet slices with teriyaki sauce! Wow!

The serving looks small but it was actually filling. The cheese and teriyaki actually complemented each other. First, I thought the combination was weird but it tasted good. sweet and salty. Chicken was tender while the cheese needs a bit more salt though.

I also ordered their almond chocolate JCC.It's the one with the cream cheese on top.. similar to Happy Lemon's rocksalt and cheese line. Chocolate was okay and not too bitter or sweet... but they shouldn't have placed a plastic lid/cover so I could enjoy and sip the cream cheese on top... I ended up just stirring it.

They have a cake display and looks interesting and yummy too! I'm so full that time so probably will try it next time.

Place is clean and the staff were courteous. They're giving away cute desk weekly planners if you purchase 1000++ worth of food.

Teriyaki Chicken Doria 255Php

Oven-baked mozarella rice casserole topped with teriyaki chicken in mushroom sauce. Normally they serve it with wasabi mushroom sauce.

I have second thoughts in ordering this food because of the cheese and rice combination. I find it weird or it's just me being ignorant. 128514

The moment it was served I know it will be good. It smells good and looks good. Tasted even better!

The service, ambience, and value for money is excellent!

This is a fried chicken katsu on fluffy omelet fried rice and mushroom cream sauce.

The chicken is tender and perfectly cooked, and with the mushroom sauce, it feels like party in your mouth. The omurice is very tasty. Delicious! Delicious! Delicious!

A very satisfied customer here.

One friday morning, Ony and I decided to start the day here. I was surprised they serve breakfast here! All this time, I thought they only sell Japanese food and cakes. 128517 Oh well. At least now I know where to get good breakfast food next time. 128513

For Ony, he ordered the Tapsilog. When it comes to breakfast, he would most of the time order Tapa because according to him, ito ang basis kung okay ang place or hindi -- "Pag masarap ang tapa, edi okay siya. Pag hindi, sad la!". 128517

The tapa was good but not the best. The beef was not super tender but not chewy, as well. Sakto lang. Right level of sweetness and saltiness. Served with egg, tomato, cucumber, and atchara. Hmm, I still prefer Banapple's tapa.

I love breakfast, so to ensure that I get the best of all breakfast worlds 128514 I ordered the Breakfast Platter (HSB - Ham, Sausage & Bacon). The HSB platter includes 2 huge french toasts, 2 eggs (sunny side up or scrambled), potato hash or rice, beans, and side salad. Everything you would ever want in one platter and it's less than 300 pesos!! Super sulit!! 128513128077🏼

And the food presentation!! 128525128525128525 When kuya served this to our table, I was like this emoji -> 128563 = "Wow!". Sobrang dami and sobrang ganda!! And yung french toast talaga yung gusto kong kainin!!! Ang taba and sobrang lambot!!! 128518 The side salad was good, too. Loved the tangy citrusy refreshing dressing + the grapes!! Serving size is really generous and can be shared by 2 persons. 128077🏼

Btw, all breakfast items are served with brewed coffee. You can have it refilled as many time as you want. 9749️9749️

Honeydew Melon Japanese Cheesecake Cream FTW! After my interest in pearl milk teas were re-invigorated lately by my team, with visits to Serenitea and Cha Time, I had to finally check out my neighborhood's Tokyo Bubble Tea which I hadn't tried / eaten in years. (been to Wilson and SM North The Block branches as early as 2008 and maybe as recent as 2012). Having moved to BGC, this branch is a mere block away.

I've not had a meal yet here but it's intriguing that they not only serve Japanese food (which I knew) but now serve breakfast also (Pinoy-fied like tapa). Their interiors are cute, bright with pastel colors and Japanese themed shaoes, but it's seen better days, needing some touch ups and minor renovation here and there. But hey, I went here to get milk tea, so on to my review.

Their menu has been updated through the years. I love that they still have Honeydew Melon which is probably my all time favorite flavor. Think the classic Magnolia / Nestlé Melon Milk. 128521

The Japanese Cheesecake Cream is their version of Rock Salt & Cheese of Happy Lemon. They don't have a straight milk tea version anymore, so it's either this or the ice cream frappe. Hahaha absolutely no regrets. The JCC mixed in made it less sweet, more creamy and slightly salty while not overpowering the honeydew still. Fantastic. The pearls are not perfectly round, and slightly melted and sticking to each other like Zagu, but I liked the sweet and chewy texture. Yep, craving for honeydew again now as I type this. 128514128522128523

I got the Gyutendon I think? It's basically tendon with some gyudon beef. It was pretty good 9786️ price is around 300+ I can't remember exactly. But when I'm usually in Tokyo Bubble Tea, I often get their fried chicken or their Chicken Teriyaki Doria. I think those two are more worth it than this one. 128517

That was one helluva work week! I wanted to reward myself after a tiring and stressful week with some green tea infused stuff at Tokyo Bubble tea.

Ordered the usual, Japanese Matcha Milk Tea and Matcha Cappuccino Cake. A lil redundant, i know... Sue me! I like anything with matcha.

The cake was mediocre, very subtle matcha flavour. The coffee is dominant but this didn't hinder me from finishing the slice in less than 5 minutes. The drink is satisfying as always. A perfect ending to a hellish week.

And uhmm, Advance Happy St Valentines Day Massacre everyone!

Finally got to try their food and we can say it was a good meal. I love the flavor of the chashu pork miso ramen, the pork sliced was really tender though i find the corn kernels a bit out of place but maybe its how they made a twist to it. The teriyaki chicken doria was a good combo who knew rice topped with cheese was a good idea. Then the apple glazed porkchop was tender and the garlic rice was really good no shortcuts at all. Overall we had a good meal though servers could have been more attentive.

One lunch time, my officemates and I were looking for a place to eat. My only condition was there should be salad. So they decided to have lunch here. I've only eaten here once before and didn't enjoyed it that much 128533 so I was not excited to eat here again. The place was full so they gave us a table inside Tuscano, instead. I think they're under the same management.

Service, though a bit slow, was still good because we were given our very own server. 128513128526

I ordered the Kani Salad (135), my officemates ordered Salmon 2 (195) and Chicken Doria? Not really sure with the name but it's chicken teriyaki on top of a cheesy rice with mushroom. They have an on going promo, when you buy their doria specials, you get one milk tea for a lesser price, 18 pesos.

I wasn't expecting that much with the salad but when it was served, I was surprised! 128561 For 135 pesos, it was a lot and looked really good. There were a lot of lettuce, kani, seaweeds and sweet mango. I enjoyed it sooo much! Super sulit! 128513128077🏼

I also got to taste my friends' order. The salmon 2 was good especially with the not so spicy wasabi mayo. 8 rolls with decent amount of salmon and rice. 128076🏼 The chicken teriyaki was just okay. Usual chicken teriyaki on top of cheesy rice. A bit pricey but good for sharing! 128512

I overly love Tokyo Bubble Tea's Old Manila Tapsilog. I just can't imagine saying it.. Tokyo bubble tea? Isn't it that their specialty is more on Japanese cuisines?! But my eyes rolled when I see the picture in the menu.. Plus adding unlimited coffee makes it hard for me to say NO!! Good thing I have such good sight when it comes to delicious looking dish. :))) In my opinion, this Tapa beat Tapsi ni Vivian as the reigning BEST TAPA out of all those that I've tasted. It is juicy, sweet, not pale looking tapa! Hahaha. If you think otherwise, this is MY review! Hahaha. Kidding.! :))
