Food was a little bit oily for my taste. Not a big fan of pork steak.

First time to try Tokyo Tonteki. We tried the recommended tonteki set which came with unlimited rice, cabbage and miso soup.
The tonteki was huge but tender. It was delicious! But we must warn you that it's for sharing. My wife and I almost didn't finish the plate.
We'll definitely be back here but more cautious on the serving size.

I'm so glad I got the smaller version of this dish (mini chopped tonteki set) because it was our first visit to this place and I wasn't feeling adventurous that day. Hahaha.
I did not understand it at all. It was just like bistek. Or was it bistek talaga... Their cheery servers made up for it though?
I don't think we're coming back here...

Ate here for mothers' day. Ordered the to tonteki set. I thought the sauce was too overwhelming and the cabbage side dish, which was supposed to clean your palate, was soaked in it as well. Not my taste, I guess...

I didn't expect that I would enjoy my dinner at Tokyo Tonteki. Not only were the meals affordable, they were also good. I ordered a Tonteki set and the meat was tender. The experience was like Yabu House of Katsu but the restaurant has its priority on steak and teppan (The Tonteki sets). I'll definitely come back!

Today was my first visit to Tokyo Tonteki, which I had been planning to visit for a while. I got a Mini Tonteki set, which comes with 150g of pork steak and unlimited rice, cabbage and miso soup. The miso soup stood out among similar offerings from other Japanese-themed restaurants because of the pieces of pork added to it. The shredded cabbage was similar to that offered in tonkatsu places, especially with the sesame sauce added. The pork was delicious and tender, definitely packed with flavor though it was a bit too salty for my taste. The mini order was also just the right size for me and reasonably priced at below Php 200. All in all, I enjoyed my meal. Now I'm curious and eager to go back and try their other offerings.

Php499 for 2 people? YES PLEASE!!
It was our first time eating here and we were not disappointed at all. The food are very much affordable, esp with their Php499 for 2 promo which we availed. It comes with 1 Tonteki + 1 side dish + unlimited cabbage, miso soup, and Japanese rice. So sulit, 'di ba?!
For the Tonteki, we got the Pork Loin. If you're tired of the usual Japanese food (who gets tired of Jap food??), give this a try. I promise, it won't disappoint. For the side dish, we got the 3 kinds of mushroom thing. Ugh it was so good!!
Definitely going back! Who doesn't love good wallet-friendly food??

The pork steak is juicy and delicious. Unlimited Japanese rice and shredded cabbage salad.
The hamburger steak is also delicious.
We enjoyed the egg wrapped in prosciutto ham and rice paper.
We're a party of three and ordered 2 main dishes and 1 appetizer dish.

Limited array of choices that revolves around chicken and pork as their staples. Hubby missed his beef dishes but what we ordered as per the recommendation of the courteous staff sufficed. They had large servings and they offered unlimited rice, soup and veggies ( julienne cabbage ) Masarap naman and affordable. Something different from the usual sushi sashimi places...

I couldn't decide between the Tonteki (pork steak) and the Cheese Tonburg (burger steak) set so I ordered both. They use the same sauce - soy with lots of garlic reminiscent of salpicao. The steak is thick yet very tender. The burger steak is one of the thickest (if not the thickest) I've tried. Both were very delicious (unlimited rice refills! Woot! Woot!) and each offers a distinct texture and flavor. The only way for you to find out which best suits your taste is to bring a friend and order both.

If you want a "different" kind of Japanese food, go here...
Miso soup doesn't taste like the usual ones but it's good and is unlimited too
Potato salad- yummy, are they using home made mayonnaise?
Tonteki (something) I got a large serving with unlimited cabbage n rice was good but nothing spectacular
Salmon was not fresh that's why I gave them 3
Price was good for the cozy place n very nice food attendants

Tonburg steak was a really heavy meal for me. I was not even able to take another cup of rice. They claim it as a 100% pure ground beef, and it taste good with its sauce. However, it was just like a huge burger patty with a lot of coleslaw and bean sprouts on the side. Anyhow, I loved mixing the coleslaw with their toasted sesame dressing! If only i have bigger gastric capacity, I could have finished the whole thing!

Just like the other trending Katsu/Tonteki places, Tokyo Tonteki offers meal sets with unlimited soup, rice and veggies.
I'm on this not-so-obvious quest of trying out all the food places found in UP Town Center (I think I'm down to the last 5 or 6 restos lol ) until it expands into a mall
The Darling and I tried Tokyo Tonteki since he was craving for some Japanese food
✔️ Pork Tenderloin Tonteki - this one's their bestseller! The pork tenderloin was legit tender but not to the point that you wouldn't really need a knife. But all is well! Tastewise, it was really good! It had a mixture of sweet and garlicky and kinda soury taste to it which was something new to my taste buds.
✔️ Ebi Fry Tempura - I was kinda disappointed when I saw the size of the shrimp. It was so tiny, I could've sworn that I would've ordered 2 more sets of it if it weren't for the unli rice and sides... It tasted really good though but I hope they upgrade sizewise.
Overall, Tokyo Tonteki is a nice place to go to if you're up for a heavy meal that won't cost you a lot

This was recommended to me, so we gave it try.
Went here on a rainy evening. Heavy rain, 1st night of the typhoon. No traffic because people are in their homes, of course.
Parking (it's far & muddy but it's spacey, & it's the town center's, so okay) 4/5
Ambiance 4/5
Service 4.5/5
Food 4/5
I asked if they have beef, but they only serve chicken and pork for some reason. So I had chopped pork & I like it because it's not breaded, it's tender & flavorful. Their sauce is good.
They serve unlimited house tea by the way.

I love their soup. They just have to improve on their take-out boxes since the sauce spills in paper boxes. I suggest reusable plastic containers instead.
