Old fashioned crispy fried chicken. The way chicken should be! The gravy is excellent and the spaghetti is wonderfully beefy. A must for anyone who loves fried chicken.

It was last Wednesday when I had dinner at Tom Sawyer's Fried Chicken at Tiendesitas Village. Located at the 2nd floor, you will instantly find it given that there is really this big space that highlights each establishment's location.

Their simple and straightforward menu offers their signature fried chicken with sides like mashed potato, corn bread, rice, etc. And having mostly kids with us, what else would we order? We got sets of their 2 piece chicken with rice meals.

The orders came by fast and servings were actually good. The chicken came in huge parts (even the legs) and the rice was siksik. What I loved here as well is that they give unlimited gravy and theirs is really addicting for me.

I just hope that they'll lessen the salt that they season in the chicken as it may taste quite salty after a while of eating it. Also, better to replace their small plastic cups as to avoid going back and forth in their water refilling station.

But overall, I enjoyed the experience once more!

This place serves up the best fried chicken! Why? Well i'll tell you why... At first bite, i felt the crispness of the skin followed by the tenderness of the meat. Perfectly cooked deep fried chicken without the feeling of greasyness!
I could eat this over and over again

Too bad it has only one branch, and they don't have a delivery service, despite that IMO, they still get a 5 from me hehe

This place awakens childhood days. The way chicken should taste. Another go to place when food in the pantry is sad. Love their chicken. Checking the reviews, the spaghetti looks like a hit. I'll try that in my next visit. Thanks Looloo peeps!

First time here!

We had to have their famous fried chicken, we also had the ribs as well as their spaghetti.

We requested for everything to be freshly cooked and steaming hot. We didn't mind waiting at all.

I have to say the chicken was pretty good. I usually go for just one piece! But no... I ate two chickens! Mind you! I came here merienda time!
That's how good it was! It wasn't dry at all!

I also loved the spaghetti. Your classic bolognese. Meaty and not sweet. Mmmmm.

Service was great too!

First time eating here, ang sarap niya. 6 y/o daughter aka the picky eater loved their spaghetti-chicken combo. She originally ordered a meal with rice but when she saw Daddy's plate, she asked if she could switch with him. We were surprised that she finished it. She loved the crunchy skin too.

This is definitely a new family favourite. 127775 127775 127775 127775 127775

After a failed attempt to go to the NBS warehouse sale and to segue to megamall (parking was hell!), we just decided to check out the new tiendesitas so our north pasyal won't be a waste. I remember Allan D's review about Tom Sawyer's and decided we'd have it for meryenda.
I like the new set up of tiendesitas, definitely cooler than before. The old restos are still in the middle too.
We looked around a little first and headed over to Tom sawyers. So happy to see his face! Haha! Nothing has changed, even the wrought iron chairs. Since it's just meryenda, I got a one piece chicken with cornbread. Hubby got a one piece with spaghetti.
We were advised that food will be served in 15mins. It's okay, I guess it's a new batch. The food arrived and it was indeed piping hot! Delicious and crispy! Even though I got a white meat piece, it was still very tasty. I liked the corn bread too though I would've preferred it to be a bit more crisp on top.
Hubby also loved his spaghetti 128077🏼
Definitely must eat here when you're in tiendesitas.

After our Greenhills shopcapade ...i wisely timed our schedule to finish by lunch time...

Finally convince the fambam to go to Tiendesitas and visit the newly renovated place.

As we enter the resto and viewed their menu, i was trying to recall the dishes that they had before..

Oh well..stop the reminiscing and just order!!!

Of course we had the chicken 9pcs, my son ordered the hickory ribs (wc sucks accdg to him as the hickory sauce overpowered the ribs)

My first bite at the fried chicken made me wonder if it really tasted like Chicken joy or not...

Then i realized..it was the gravy that spelled the difference.

Staff were friendly and enjoyed some chitchats and found out the original owner gave this business to the children who's currently managing this lone store.

Wonder they dont franchise yet.

Anyhow i hope this old skul resto gets another chance in the market and bring back its glory days!

Ate here with a friend after the gym then when we ordered, the staff gave me "that look" when I want a 2-piece of chicken. 128563 My friend also gave me "that look" as well. Then I suddenly get it: My friend (who happened to be a big man because of basketball + gym aka athlete) only ordered a small chicken leg and rice... And then there's me, petite and ordered 2-piece chicken with rice. 128514 We all laughed together with the staff and told them to not judge me because I'm already starving from working out. 128513 (And lol that's just 2-piece, I eat more chicken at home and at KFC)

Staffs were really friendly. And it was my first time to eat at their resto. The first time I tried their chicken, it was a takeout so I had no idea how the resto was. Well it was just small. 128522 People tend to only "eat and run". I think it was only me and my friend who stayed there for a long time because we still chatted. 128517

Oh and by the way, they gave us an additional chicken neck. FOR FREE! One for me, one for my friend. I didn't eat it because chicken neck has too much skin... Well I just left it on my plate. 128528

Hands down to Tom Sawyer's for having the best Chicken and Spaghetti meal I've ever tasted since the dawn of fast food chains here in the country! I am not a fan of any fast food chains out there. In fact, ever since I've been into fitness, I stay away from such kind of establishments. However, as I was reading some blogs, I scrolled into an article about this place. Just seeing the photos of their meals made me want to try it so badly! Just one time and then I'll get back to clean eating. And so I tried it...

I will never regret eating at Tom's! They had my heart at the amount of meat on the spaghetti and the crispy juicy chicken that they cook on the spot! I love that the spaghetti is not sweet and the chicken is huge! Their brownie is also to die for! I wish they put a branch in Makati.

You guys should try Tom Sawyer's!

Ramon L and I finally found the time to try the "returning" restaurant, Tom Sawyer's Fried Chicken. I had stumbled upon this from the blogs of several foodies that I follow; many of whom had it first when they were much younger (aka even before I was born).

A small restaurant at a half-empty Tiendesitas, we looked at the menu with much gusto. The menu is simple: it's just southern-fried chicken with rice, spaghetti, or other sides you might want to have. If you don't want chicken, they also have ribs. I ordered the Spaghetti w/ Chicken (Php 138) while Ramon had 2 Pcs w Rice (Php 138).

My sentiments echo that of most. The flavor resembles Chickenjoy, except less crispy, and less juicy. The gravy is mild-tasting. The spaghetti was swimming in beef tomato sauce, which was actually pretty good for me. I didn't find anything that blew me away completely, but I wouldn't mind having it again.

Just when I thought I'm cool already with my 4pm early dinner, my Mom arrived 10pm tonight with this. 128533 Now I'm forced to eat it. Hahaha.

I didn't eat the rice. Just the chicken. Well it tastes okay, the gravy tastes like Pancake House's gravy. 128522

Having never tried Tom Sawyer's before, I was excited to taste their fried chicken. Apparently, it used to be quite popular a few years ago and most reviews mention that the taste brought back childhood memories. For 138 pesos, you get two pieces of fried chicken. (This is also one of those rare fast food joints where you can order per piece - at 65 pesos.) Their fried chicken smells like Shakey's version, looks like Jollibee's Chickenjoy and tastes like a less-saltier-Mini Stop fried chicken. My review may sound like Tom Sawyer is suffering from an identity crisis but trust me - it's definitely worth a try!
