It has been years since I last went to Tong Yang. My officemates who just celebrated their birthdays treated our team. They bought discounted coupons from Metrodeal and reserved our table 2-3 days before our visit. When we got there, Tong Yang took a while before they confirmed our reservation so we had to wait for a while. They were also asking for the printed copies of our vouchers but we were told, over the phone (during reservation) that e-copies would suffice. Good thing, some of us were still in the office and they were able to print copies. Tong Yang should make this policy clear.

Before starting to get the food, the servers will ask what broth you want for the shabu-shabu. The choices are sinigang, chicken and spicy. We got the chicken and sinigang. The chicken was good and not overwhelming while the sinigang tastes sour, I felt that it wasn’t a good match with the dumplings. They had a wide selection for shabu-shabu - from vegetables to dumplings to mushrooms to seafood. Not a super fan of this so I just ate the usual fishballs, some veggies and slurped the chicken broth.

The grilling part was where I was more excited about. My teammate got a lot of scallops and salmon belly for grilling. I think our 2-3 rounds of these would explain how much we loved it. I partnered the grilled seafood with Yang Chow Rice. In between those rounds, I also got some meat to grill - Chicken Texas, Pork Chop and Angus Beef Belly. The chicken was just right. The taste was not plain but it was not overwhelming either. The pork chop was so-so. The beef belly was really thin and it didn’t feel like I was eating special Angus beef.

There are three small areas left - the cooked meals, drinks and the desserts. The cooked meals include Yang Chow Rice, Steamed Dumplings and a variety of Noodles. The yang chow rice was delicious but it felt a little oily after eating a lot of it. We got the egg noodles to go with our shabu-shabu and it’s was okay. For the drinks, they have iced tea, juices, soft drinks and draft beer! The draft beer was a bit intimidating to use because I felt that it was me who was first going to try it for the day. A waiter saw me, he immediately assisted me and even gave me tips on how to get beer without foam from the draft dispenser. Their desserts were not that sweet which was a good way to end a very fulfilling meal and to wash away your taste palette.

This place is huge but the food choices are unexpectedly fewer than the one in Greenhills.

We had an early dinner with my family here. We waited like almost an hour for our seats (that was given and expected, coz that's normal for a buffet restaurant is to "wait" lol.) The ambiance is just okay and it's just simple.

It's a shabu-shabu and grilled restaurant. I just enjoyed grilling there haha since I'm not a fan of shabu-shabu. It has also unlimited drinks. Their price is just also affordable and kinda cheaper compared to other buffet restos. They just have limited and not so many foods to choose from, maybe because it's actually a shabu-shabu restaurant.

Family dinner is the best when in a buffet. We had dinner here as part of welcoming for the balikbayan husband of my cousin. Thank God he's a cook and the grills were all perfectly cooked. Nomnom!

Tong yang on a rainy day 128517
so pag tinatamad maghanap ng kakainin ito talaga binabagsakan namen specially if we're at mega 128514

This is our 1st time to try their dinner buffet and too be honest there's no difference at all compared to their lunch buffet so why is the price higher?
it's the same food, same things. sa sobrang suki na kami it's impossible for us not to recognize the food 128517 and parepareho lang talaga 128517
i was looking for something different since it's for dinner but i got disappointed 128528
i feel like i've been cheated 128556 HAHAHA kasi it's so cheap pag lunch tapos pag dinner its almost 600 pesos and you got the same food lang naman.
Guess we'll stick with the lunch buffet 128517

I haven't been back here since 2009 but what I do remember about it, I liked. The waiting was the worst part because they opened at 11am (if I remember correctly) and we were all really hungry then.

Like Sambo, it's cook and stuff yourself - but unlike Sambo, it's self-service for everything. They have a bigger selection of food though.

Another eat all you can (Shabu Shabu and Grill) that you should try. They serve raw foods in a buffet and some cooked foods already. In their shabu shabu, they will ask you for the type of soup you like. There are 3 choices: chicken, sinigang, and spicy. For the raw foods, they have shrimps, shellfish, diff kinds of fish, beef and pork and vegetables. They also have imported steaks and beef. For their desserts, they have fresh fruits, cake, ice cream with diff flavors, and also you can your own halo halo. They also have diff kinds of sushi :) And lastly, with there eat all you can promo, it is included already with drinks like juices, sofrtdrinks, coffee, tea and Beer :)

You should eat here. Very affordable :)

It's the last day of the school year!!! And it's a requirement to celebrate it with my forever food buddy.

Tong Yang. The name doesn't sound interesting..... And so with the place, the food, the service, everything :(

I'm a yakimix fan and I don't want to compare but, you know, you just can't. Everything is different!!! From the crowded place to music to not maintindihing crews to many but nothing special foods to not so delish maki's to make-your-own salad to desserts :( :( :(

Disappointed. But food is love. <3

Btw, sambo kojin will be open here in megamall on May 2014 :D

I prefer tongyang compared to yakimix which is totally biased cause I'm not really into sushi. Tong yang has more items to grill. What I typically like are the mini scallops then just add their bbq sauce and the bacon. Plus points for the soups; they let you have two types we had sinigang and kimchi soup which was not just plain broth it had vegetables. Dessert was disappointing though we only had the ice cream which was decent. If I have to choose between tongyang or sambokojin: tongyang for the soup but sambokojin wins for the tempura, dessert, cooked items and nice variety of items which you could grill!!!

Went here with my blockmates after a tiring semester has ended. Loved the place! Perfect points for the taste of food, the cozy ambiance, and the friendly servers.

This all-you-can-eat Thai cuisine eatery definitely tops all of restaurants I've been to. They got it all covered! From fish to dumplings to noodles to maki to sushi to beef to pork to chicken to cake! Can't wait to come back for more. Also, their fill-all-you-can juices (with get-all-you-can ice) satisfied my hungry tummy big time.

Can't wait to go back after this DREADFUL semester! Waaah!!! 10084128077
