Tonkatsuya's one of the original katsu houses in Manila, even before the katsu craze picked up with the entry of bigger and more established brands. Happy to say that despite this, they've maintained their homey and authentic feel that keeps their customers coming back. I lot of Japanese do eat here, mind you, so that should be as good a sign as any 128521

The tonkatsu sets at P200++ are a steal. Very simple, straightforward, tonkatsu... and not as fancy as their more expensive countemporaries outside, but the taste is still definitely at par! The katsu curry here has and will always be my favorite. HUUUUGE serving and imagine extra chunks of pork swimming in and adding flavor to the curry sauce, and i'm not talking about the tonkatsu fillet here. 128077128077128077

The kani salad is also good, but their gyoza isn't something i'd look forward to. Excusable, as they're not known for their gyoza anyway 128540

If you want a quick and authentic katsu fix without the fancy shmancy feels... this is your place!

Last minute lunch plans with Chichi T. 128513 I was supposed to stay in for lunch because I had to rush some paperworks but since I finished early, I was able to go out for a quick break.

Hooray for cheap but yummy eats! 128523 I suggested this place because we can't think of anything new or interesting to try in Greenbelt. Hahaha and it's near my office. 128517 Prices of their meals are really affordable and serving size can be comparable to popular katsu places, except that they do not offer unlimited rice and cabbage.

I ordered the Tonkatsu set (P220) while Chichi had the Katsudon (P240). Mine was served with a heaping amount of shredded cabbage and miso soup. They don't serve salad dressing for free so you need to order it separately. The deep fried pork was tender and juicy, covered with a thin and crunchy breading.128076🏼 I just didn't like that what they served us was kinda fatty.

For good and value for money Jap eats, try this. 128077🏼 Their servers look masungit though. 128527

Met up with my cousin for lunch and I wanted her to try this place. Each of us got the chicken katsu but she ordered for the set while mine didn't have rice and side dishes. Glad she found it good too! Value for money indeed. 128076

They do not offer the cabbage dressing for free. You have to pay an additional Php30. And they only have 1 kind available, unlike other katsu places wherein you can choose from a variety of dressings. Exhaust is still bad. 128567

Finally a branch near my office. It's just a few steps away so we're all so happy we can have our cheap katsu fix anytime. 128513

Ordered the fish katsu this time. It was okay. I still prefer their hire. Yummier and more sulit. 128076

I hope they fixed their exhaust already. When they were still on soft opening, you'll surely smell like fried food once you step out. 128293
