Tori Box is one of my go-to restaurants near my workplace. Aside from the good food, I'm in love with their interiors. Very Instagram-worthy!

During my last visit, I ordered their Pork Katsudon (P185) and I loved it. The hefty serving and the addition of bonito flakes on top made me happy. The waiters were very friendly and accommodating. Parking space is limited but I haven't seen the place packed anyway.

Food is quite salty here. Usual tonkatsu. Nothing spectacular

This is one of my very late reviews...
Our experience here wasn't too memorable, but not bad either. All I can remember was the Pork Tonkatsu which was the most satisfying among those we've tried. It's good even without the sauce. The spicy Tonkatsu was a bit disappointing though. They used up I think half the chili powder bottle just to make it "spicy". They consequently got the effect they wanted but it tasted too artificial and powdery. The fish and chips was just like any other, and the rest was forgettable 128540

Chicken karaage for the win! it's only 85 pesos plus you can choose from 5 different seasoning!

I ate with the fam and ordered alot! the food is great! a korean-ish vibe interior but they serve jap food.

Parking is a problem. Enjoy the food!

I didn't find it as exciting as people would rave about it.

This one's with mapo tofu by the way. At first I thought they were serving me curry. Good thing they weren't. :)

Well if you think about it, cost-wise, they priced it just right - at least for the amount of food that they served me. But taste wise, I didn't really enjoy it as much as I thought I would. It's nothing extraordinary.

But despite all that, I'll give props to the staff. I think they only have 2 people running the place, one in the kitchen and one to do everything else outside - get the order, serve them, be the cashier am just be there whenever you need help.

Location, well, it's sort of hidden. But with all the restos popping up in J Abad, you wouldn't miss this one. Place is cozy as well, but it's not that well ventilated upstairs or maybe cos at that time there weren't so much people in the resto that's why they decided to turn the aircon on the 2nd floor off.

Note: gave it an additional star because the place looked nice.

The food??? Are you kidding me????!!!!! Ok, so why I dined here was simply because it is the closest to the office like 10 steps and I'm there. Because it's been a while since I last tasted heavenly karaage, oh not just karaage but! Ikkoryu Fukuoka Ramen karaage (credits to you 128521 Ikkoryu P) I have missed it a lot, a lot! Yours is just so addicting!!!! Ok ok. And so I went.. Got news that their version of karaage was good. I fixed myself with one and a their garlic tofu. I enjoyed the wait because the place entertained me.

Then came my order.. Jesus Christ it did not just look like chicken lollipops, it tasted like one!! (My version of the lollipops I could say, is even waaaaaaaay better) tofu was ok, but I did not go there for that. Dry, not even close to what karaage was all about.

So even if this restaurant was the closest, I'd rather wait until I get my feet to the closest Ikkoryu for a superb meal.

For 90 pesos, I will say NOOOOOO to it anything of the day. A lesson learned, 128513128513128513 but an experience earned.

The place is tucked in Abad Santos, very chic and pretty, a modern Japanese cafe if you will. We ordered chicken karaage and ramen. I must say, the nori spices that come with the karaage adds that twist to your normal karaage. The ramen is huge and can be shared for two. I want to come back just to do another sampling of their curry ramen. They also have good espresso, and it's a good place to enjoy coffee if you want to keep away from the usually busy cafes.

Tried their Cheese Katsu Pork - my goodness, it was yummy! Cheesy indeed! And authentic Japanese rice!! 128077128077

I'd also like to commend their very nice interiors, although the place is very small. I think that with only ten customers dining in, the place will become crowded already.

The place is nice, tambayan on a lazy afternoon..

Tonkatsu & Torikatsu FTW! I added chili powder to give it a kick. I also liked their side salad with sesame oil dressing. Miso soup is just okay, I'm not a fan.

What I didn't like about this Resto is their service.. Very poor!!! To think that it is only me and my husband who is there.. They are all usually inside the kitchen, yes, even the cashier.. I will need to stand up & shout, "Miss" (they have loud music) which I think makes it hard for them to hear us.

Here's the catch, we asked for the bill.. They are charging us 90 for the 2 miso soup which is said to be included already.. When I asked the waitress, she thought I'm ordering the set meal! Wth! I even told her that we don't like a soup in a humid day and if we can change it to iced tea instead.

Bonus: they will not give you an OR if you will not ask for it.

The poor service will ruin this place. I just hope that the owner of Tori Box will get to read this soon & make sure he train his staff good service.

Had dinner at Tori Box. At first you'd think they have small servings but it's actually fine. I didn't even finish my food. I ordered tori katsudon. I like the taste of it! Though it's not for those who don't like salty food. It was just okay. The cheesy mayo gyoza tasted odd though. So I didn't really enjoy it. The ambiance was niiiice and the servers were friendly too.
