This was the pioneer in deli gourmet sausages even before Santi's. They used to have a kiosk in Greenhills long time ago. Now, sad to find out that even their resto is just a take-out outlet. They've moved to a smaller place and in what seemed like a previous garage transformed into a take-out outlet. My favorite remains to be Bratwurst and Hungarian Sausage. Although, somehow tastes different. I cant quite figure it out. Sad..

Tummy’s looking for authentic German food? Swing by Liberty Ave. Cubao and grab all the sausages that your heart desires at Treffpunkt!

Trivia: Treffpunkt (pronounced as Tref-powngkt) means “meeting place”. It is where the Germans, mostly men, go to hang out and have several rounds of beer.

Treffpunkt is located at #18 Liberty Street, cor. Edsa, Cubao. It opened to the public in the year 1986. They used German beer cans, wines and glasses to give its customers an authentic German experience.

While I was very pleased with the food quality and ambiance, I would say it’s one of those restaurants that need a little renovation. I would’ve loved to see brighter colored walls, instead of its current plain white that’s unfortunately starting to show its age. It would also be nice to see new furniture, ideally of European design, or anything that matches its authentic German beer and delicacies displayed all over the place. Nevertheless, the place is decent and gives off an “old rich” feel.

The menu is composed of dishes from light appetizers like salads and soups, to sumptuous main dishes like burgers, pastas, sandwiches and a slew of rice meals. The real stars, however, are of course their German beers and wines for those in the mood for an alcohol fix.
