No photo since I was already sleepy when I visited this place. 128516

This place is really convenient to satisfy my late night cravings since it's open 24 hours. Also, it's not crowded and it's easy to get a parking. Of course, that's because I went there around 2AM. 128517

Ordered chicken sopas, burger steak and club house. I was hungry so please don't judge. I shared it though. After eating all those, I was very full and satisfied. 128513

What I like about their food is it doesn't taste like your typical fast food. Maybe it's just me though.

Prior to the same day I had Yabu for dinner with my girlfriend going home and it struck around midnight and the cravings strike for food as me and my brother were watching food channels on Youtube it made it worse and I was hungry like a horse!
It was nearly 2am and thinking we could rush to Big Brat Burger to get their beef bowl since we were on a budget to eat decent food with good portion sizes.
We bolted to Big Brat Burger and unfortunately they were closed even if we were there 10mins before closing time and we were in distraught thinking
The beef bowl can't contest with anything else but
Dusadee Thai was the second choice but I didn't feel so moved by it for that moment and we looked online and saw Tropical Hut! The local diner of nostalgia and we gave it a go.
I have to say this place has been up and running for 50 years and it never ceases to amaze me how it still stands as you'd see Seniors as regulars and it looks just the same since back then and it's amazing! We decided to go for the combo meal that had no specific name but it comprised of an Omelette, 3 shanghai rolls, a Burger Steak, 1 garlic rice along with a orange juice plus coffee and an additional free refill for coffee! For only P139 insane right? We sat outside and waited..
Food arrived and I drank the orange juice and the glass ring edges were you sip were kinda rough but that was just my glass, the coffee was okay and the food was okay as well.
The shanghai rolls were quite good, crispy and tasty.. The burger steak was decent but wasn't really great.. Also the rice wasn't enough.. A meal like that you're gonna need an extra rice.
I mixed my ketchup and mustard along with the Omelette and the burger steak turned out good! The sweet chili sauce for the shanghai roll was good too
Overall it was okay and got us stuffed, I wouldn't say this place has the best food but it's pretty good for its price! I recommend this place for the fact that it's been operating for 50 years and that it's always 24 hours which is a huge deal and it's cheap for its price!
If you want to have a decent meal anytime of the day, local Filipino classic diner Tropical Hut reigns supreme! We wouldn't mind going back here anytime, really good nostalgia!

One of the oldest establishment here in BF Homes. Since we're in the area already, might as well make the most out of this throwback sunday afternoon. After buying spanish bread from Fortune, we decided to buy sandwich, burger and spaghetti for take out. Ahhhhhh, I missed this! Never gets old! 128076🏼

Haven't tried this place for ages! I was so surprised on how good it still is. Tropical hut is known for good burgers and I'm so glad I tried the palabok and chicken! Yes, those two humongous things on our plate are chicken! Lol. The serving of the palabok was generous enough combined with the chicken which, had good flavor, especially with the gravy. Imagine this with rice! 128540 Though, the chicken was covered with too much flour and had almost no meat 128543 So if you're a chicken skin lover, head on there now. You will not be disappointed. I enjoyed my meal here and I'm glad they maintained quality through the years, I'll just have to make sure I order another chicken part next time. 128512

Been dining every week. I think it's safe to say that they cater to seniors. They have a designated table where they hangout.

Food tastes awesome. I wonder when they will cater to the younger crowd.

Will never get tired eating here. The Burgers are just the best! Some people don't really know what this fastfood chain has to offer but you'll be surprised how cheap they are compared to their competitors... (And it tastes better too)

Two pieces of toast + two eggs + two drinks and one honest to goodness real-beef patty just made my day, all that for only P99! An ideal meal for sharing! That's the kind of value that you get having breakfast at Tropical Hut!

Esquire's right! This is the ultimate place to eat when you're craving for burgers. The sili burger has the right amount of "sili" and gives you the right kick! If you're not a fan of burgers, i recommend you to try the spring chicken. Ü

The new and improved Sili Burger. You have to try this. Who doesn't love Tropical Hamburger? If your not much of a spicy eater, you can stick to their Classic.

Don't expect much. We got their chicken sandwich this morning. This is your typical toasted 'tasty' chicken salad sandwich. And it's great! We paired it with fresh brewed coffee and it's perfect! As simple as that.

Just finished a very early morning run and I was ravenous. The pit of my stomach was telling me, "burger burger!" (I tell you, this protein binge is going to be the death of me!) I ran passed Tropical Hut earlier and decided to make a u-turn to feed the "beast". Since they're open 24 hours, it seemed like the logical, practical choice.

When I was a child I looked forward to visits here. It meant I was getting a reward for a job well done. Back then, they used nice white ceramic plates, steel utensils, crystal clear drinkware and the largest burgers (next to Dayrit's). They changed their format to that of a fast food establishment. Sadly though, it looks like they have not been able to keep up or were never there in the first place.

Walking into the store, the first thing that greeted me was the pungent, rancid smell of "sunog na mantika". 128567128567128567 It bothered me but I proceeded to order my Classic Burger, fries and coffee anyway. Their system of calling out the order as you speak is irritating. The order taker keeps interrupting then asks, "Anything else po?". If they just listened in the first place, took down the order and called it out later, it would be a much better customer experience.

As I unwrapped the foil (yes, they use foil and contribute more non-biodegradables to the environment!), I thought to myself, I was in for a treat. The burger was much smaller than I rememebered but was freshly cooked and nicely seared. The whole sandwich itself, on the other hand, was sloppy. It looked like the condiments were hastily thrown onto the bun and the patty added as an after thought. The bottom of the bun was not yet soggy but certainly getting there. Kaya lang, no burger mishap was going to keep me from biting into this baby. Lo and behold, the familiar taste of Tropical Hut! Corny as it may sound, fond childhood memories of after school snacking with my mom and dad came flooding back! 128514128514128514

Potato chips came with the burgers then and I remember putting them aside and eating them last. No potato chips here so I went with the substitute. Expectations were high, so imagine my disappointment when I got my fries. At first glance, they did not look appetizing at all. The cuts were short, very thin and carelessly packed into the fry box. What my eyes saw were quickly confirmed by my taste buds, they were oily and tasted like the burnt oil I smelled earlier. I downed a couple and stopped, yuck! 128534128534128534

I figured I still had the coffee to enjoy. Suffice it to say, I didn't. Sans the childhood memories, I would not give them higher than 3 stars. So very sad.

Tropical Hut seems to be lost in limbo. I hope they find their identity soon. 128542128542128542

There may have been a time years ago, during the time of our parents, where this would have been considered "the best burger in Manila" Quite the title so I knew I had to drive by.

Today, the Classic Tropical Hut burger is just alright. The basic components used are reminiscent of those burgers I used to order as a kid in elementary. Bun, mushy burger, cheese, lettuce, tomato, cucumber (a staple of generic Filipino hamburgers) and dollops of mayo. Only surprising thing to me was how large it was. Probably as big as a Champ? 128513

While I get that TH banks on the whole oldie but goodie feel as a business, everything's just begging for purposeful, well-planned disruption and innovation. Their menu from the looks of it doesn't have a standout item the way McDo has its burgers and Jollibee/KFC has its chicken. 128532

I think of comparing eating at TH to taking a culinary time machine - to taste what burgers must have tasted like in the 70's-80's. But I probably wouldn't even recommend it to my more nostalgic foodie/anthropologist friends. Sorry, just didn't do it for me 128542
