Got a Tsujiri Float with Red Bean Ball on top. Pretty pricey for a small cup.
The matcha taste was not that strong for me, probably because of the vanilla ice cream on top. The red bean ball was just okay. For a non-matcha eater, it might be too over overwhelming because it was green tea and ice.

One thing I’d like them to look into is their trays. It’s too slippery. The cups I had on my trays almost fell while I was walking to our table. My colleague’s cup went straight to the floor before she placed it on top of the table.

When they first opened in S Maison at the Mall of Asia Complex, I didn’t doubt that they could go far. The rich history and authenticity of their brand and products could work here in Manila. Today, they have 4 branches already!

I brought Mia, my girl friend, and her family here yesterday, after a feast at nearby Paradise Dynasty. I was hoping to bump into Sean Ponce too, one of the owners. I met him months ago.

We were quite full but I wanted to give Mia’s family a full preview of why Tsujiri is special. We shared first Uji Sunrise, a towering dessert of shaved ice filled with bitter-sweet Matcha, mochi, mushy red bean and condensed milk to add sweetness. It was both delightful to see and have, definitely good to share!

Next was a cup of bursting flavors and textures, their best selling, Tsujiri Sundae. I opted for Vanilla this time around for the ice cream flavor. It also had red bean, mochi pieces, burnt crispy rice and matcha gelatin in them. One spoonful is magic, try it yourself and you’ll know why!

Not on photo, out of sheer excitement was a Chocolate Lava Cake with Vanilla Ice Cream. This dessert plate did not disappoint either. It was rich, moist and had loads of wet dark chocolate in it.

The kids with us had their fare share of sweet. They had an ice cream cone of Matcha and Vanilla.

Have you been to the newest mall in Ortigas? The wordpress Podium new wing opened just late last year. If ever you land here, Tsujiri could be your go to stop for dessert or even a snack.

When I visited Tsujiri inside The Podium for the first time, their soft serves weren't available. Now it was my chance to try what could be their signature item, the Tsujiri Sundae.

I'm typically a cheap thrills-seeker, pero paminsan-minsan try din ako ng me kamahalan. After all, minsan lang naman. 128513 This could be the most expensive dessert I've ordered in my book (then I suddenly remember, magkasing presyo lang pala sila ng 17-layer Valrhona chocolate cake ng Workshop Bespoke Bakery, parehong ₱285).

But when you know it's a premium one, then you'd bet it could be worth the price.

How was it?

Matcha soft serve ice cream was good! Smooth, not too heavy, not too thin, just right. And of course, because it's from Tsujiri, you'd bet they bring authentic matcha goodness in every dish. This one was not too sweet, still having the grassy, earthy goodness of matcha.

It was topped with a sakura cookie or something like that. I thought it was a thick cookie, but it was actually hollow at the back. Lasang ostia hehehe. It was pretty to look at. 128522

The crunchy brown rice puffs added an interesting factor to this dessert. I liked them -- their flavor and aroma reminded me of the toasted rice "coffee" my Lolo used to make. But I understand why some people don't like these brown rice crispies -- they can taste a bit too burnt or bitter.

The sweetest component came from the red bean paste, balancing the bitter flavors of this sundae.

Worth it? Hmmmm still pricey. But it was good enough to satisfy my matcha cravings. I'll just see it as a rare grand treat to myself. 128522 I think I can share this with my date too. 128521

The lineup of restaurants at Podium’s new building gets me excited. I was glad to know that Tsujiri opened since matcha is one of my favorites especially desserts. Got my favorite cup of Tsujiri Matcha Jelly Sundae. I love the pop of sweetness from the nuts and redbeans. It was also an added texture to this creamy soft serve. The best part about this cup would be the matcha jelly cubes and mochi. They also topped it with rice cracker in a form of a flower that went so well with this dessert. 128523

First time with Tsujiri,a legendary tea brand from Japan, renowned for its high quality green tea.Reshape the menu by offering and infusing their matcha with desserts and
beverages to reach a wider following.

At first I'm a bit skeptical about trying their products and doubtful that it may disappoints me ,and a bit pricey for me.

I ordered the Sundae Jelly Matcha, love the strong yet authentic matcha flavor that was integrated into the ice cream and jelly way different from the others I've tried .the toasted rice crispies were fantastic. The pink flowet ornament was impressive ,texture of waffle cone made up of rice. And of course the inclusions of my favorites the red bean and chewy mochi complemented the rest.

Overall with quality and the authenticity of the ingredients ,I find the price reasonable .Place beautifully lit and nice Oriental vibe. Service and staff were good. Will be back to try their other products.

Not giving it a 5 because my first couple of healthy sips took away maybe a fourth of the cup and revealed ginormous ice cubes, but it was delicious. Came back for a cup of hot Houjicha latte after a hot yoga session and it tasted like fish although it was tolerable. Would still prefer it to not taste like fish though.

Tsujiri finally opened a branch in Podium. Perfect dessert place for matcha lovers. I was overwhelmed by the dessert, but I can only have one of it.

The server highly recommended the Chiffon Cake Parfait Sundae (P260) it has this matcha chiffon cake, scoop of red beans and legit matcha ice cream!

Verdict: slightly overpriced for me for the serving size. Matcha ice cream is yummy! Its a two thumbs up, also for the red beans. I am noy much happy for the chiffon cake, its kinda dry.

After buying a laptop, I decided to check out the Podium, where I hadn't been to for quite some time. They have a new wing I think, and just a few stores have been opened.

Then I remembered Tsujiri having a new branch there. I wasted no time and went there.

Unfortunately, their ice creams were unavailable. Sad. Instead, what I had:

◻ Matcha Citron Cake (₱200 per slice) - I loved this! Fluffy cake filled with luscious matcha cream, with a citrusy tang. Because of the cool temperature of the cake, the filling was almost like an ice cream. (Look at the thick cream in the third pic, huhuhu 128154).

◻ Houjicha Milk (large, ₱180) - Roasted green tea ice blended drink. No soft serve ice cream so no float, sorry. Despite the addition of milk, I could still feel the earthiness of the matcha. It left some briny aftertaste. Maybe it's just me. Next time I will try the drink without milk.

I hope on my next visit there, there should be ice cream! Other than that, it was a good first visit.

So happy I finally got to try Tsujiri. I super 128154 the Matcha Soft Serve Ice Cream!!!!

Rating it with 127775127775127775127775127775 because (1) it’s MATCHArap. Legit!!! Hello matcha goodness with just the right level of sweetness. Nothing too much that you feel like you’re eating something you don’t really like and truly enjoy. (2) Super sulit for 130php. You may think it’s expensive but with the quality and amount of matcha you get... please take my money and give me more of this awesomeness! 128184128176 And (3), not only was the matcha was oh so good and amazing, the service was excellent too.128076🏼 It was already 9:45pm (just 15mins before they close) but I did not feel any pressure from the staff while I choose and decide what to get. They were game in suggesting and explaining the menu. Super nice and helpful!! 128522128077🏼

BTW, the Aura branch opened last Friday. So if you’re not going anywhere this looooong weekend (sad, I know 128557), you may want to visit SM Aura and try all the matcha goodness this amazingggggg place has to offer.
