Quite crowded during the weekends and a bit short staffed.
I love their Volcano roll! Their crazy kani and tsuru roll come in close second! Their tofu wrapped in beef is good! but the second time we ate there the beef was hard and chewy (hit and miss? 128517) their ramen is meh.

My sister just told me that Tsuru has this promo of buy 1 take 1 sushi. I love sushi so much so I did not hesitate to go. Tsuru definitely has good sushi. They are actually famous here in Davao. Sad to say they don't have branches anywhere else in the Philippines. So this one's local Davao with great Japanese food!:)

On my previous review, I mentioned about their 15th and 30th tradition. Check out the older review about this!

Promo hour is from 2-5. Buy 1 take 1 and you can choose two different sushi, and like the usual, pay for the higher priced sushi. @CHAN got the volcano roll, 249php, while I got the Spicy Salmon Maki, 299php. Serving of the sushi took a while, chany mentioned that maybe because of her order becase her sushi still needed cooking. Both sushi were good. Although I have to question the word "spicy" on my order. It was not spicy at all! Chany's order tasted spicy which ❓❓❓

To be honest, prices of sushi is quite high without the promo, since serving was quite small, not sure maybe it's smaller because of the promo? but anyway, since it's buy one take one, it's more affordable and more sulit128077

Menu prices are not yet vat included and subject to service charge. Our expected bill of 299, turned 349.128543

I always resorted to Thai or Japanese restaurants when looking for a non-vegetarian restaurant. We chanced upon Tsuru while looking for another Japanese resto at Abreeza that's already closed.

They bumped up the stars when they gave me a separate vegetarian menu, which can be easily made vegan. I got the tofu steak and veggie California maki plus a glass of Sapporo beer (which was vegan!). The food was good and comforting. I love tofu and I love when it's simply cooked, which in this case was cooked with soy sauce. Their maki was soothing with fresh vegetables used.

The servers were great! They offered recommendations, they were constantly around especially when we needed their assistance, they made it a pleasant visit for us. And it's also affordable, a big plus factor for us.
