L & I heard about this place
we shared Curry Premium Beef & Tendon 5stars
pork bun 5stars
pineapple bun 5 stars
the food we had was really good
the beef was premium & tender
their curry sauce , pang ulam na , if you know what i mean.
The buns are as good as that of Tim Ho Wan's and they have 4 varieties, pork , duck , pineapple & custard. we tried 2 kinds, pork -perfect & pineapple for our dessert - equally good!
also try their Horlick's drink .
Servings are to share , L & I even shared the 1 cup of rice that came with the curry . we spent P750 total -2 kami but we had 3 orders of buns, nag takeout ng 1 pang order ng pork buns. hehe
now with all the 5 star food why dfd i give only 4 stars
here's why :
before we ordered the curry L asked if it was very spicy hot because she preferred a very mild spiciness.
Our waiter voluntered , no problem , they can serve the dish with the chili oil separate and we could easily adjust to our preferred hotness or even skip the chili oil altogether if we wished.
Fantastic! so we ordered curry with chili oil separate.
to make it short, they served our curry with a lot of chili oil already drizzled on. see the picture, its the orange oil slick in a circle on the curry. Great! yahooo!
They had to scrape the oil out. so much for food presentation .
And it shows they really do pay attention to their customers requests (NOT)
So a 1 star deduction ... tsk sayang.
but we will be back for the food. we will just sit in another section , to get another server, hopefully someone who pays more attention.

Disclaimer: This review is just for the Curry Prawns and to this specific branch only (SM Aura).

Hands down with their pork buns. I'm addicted to it. But this is the first time I tried their Curry Prawns. I loooove Prawns and together with curry, heaven!! I got too excited when my order arrived. At first look, I thought that the prawns are still raw so I told the food attendant and of course he immediately get the plate. When he came back with my curry prawns, the prawns still look the same (raw) so I tasted it. It was bland. And that's when I figured, it's not raw but frozen. They are using frozen meat, not fresh. I got so disappointed so I ended up eating just the curry sauce. The price is Php548.00. Do you think it's fair? NAH.

88-peso promo pairing until August 31. 8 dishes for 88 pesos for Chinese Father's Day month.

We came in here last week to buy some custard buns to send to family abroad, eat some fried milk bread and drown ourselves with their naicha for merienda. Bingo! Comfortably seated already, we were informed all our preferred orders we're unavailable!!!128557 No supply of milk coming in. At least you know they don't cheat us by using other milk from the local market. But that means no food served that uses milk - milk bread and naicha. Their custard naman is only available MWF. Epic fail. Super, super sad. Super!

Pampa-lubag loob, buti they had their promo. And they paired my favorites here - honey ribs and the prawn curry!! Their curry is my absolute fave here, the sauce is so creamy. The prawns are always succulent too. The honey ribs were crunchy sweet and salty.

So instead of merienda we had a second lunch. My son didn't like the ribs so we just shared the prawns and took home the ribs. Ribs reheated well in the toaster the following day.

Hong Kong style with a homey flair. That's my impression. I super love their laksa bowls and snow buns. Today though I was quite too adventurous and didn't stick to my staple favorites. I ordered the US Angus w Black Pepper and was quite disappointed. They flattened the beef until it was just too gummy. I didn't like the texture at all. And AGAIN, they didn't have any of the milk based drinks. What is up with that? Good thing I also ordered the radish cake with xo. That salvaged the whole experience.

Finally got to try the famous Tim Ho Wan contender! I am now joing team tuan-tuan for the buns! Lol #sorrynotsorry 128514. I loved that theirs is more savory and thank the lord for it not being too sweet. It's got good crust and pillowy dough that I love. It may be a little short with the filling but it will do. As for the noodle, we had the almond fish something and I've never tried this soup ever so I had no idea what to expect & as it was longly named, point is... it had almond flavor & quite strong one too. I don't think I am a fan of but I reckon theirs must be of good version. The crispy noodles was superb btw, it wasn't overly poured with the sauce that it saved the noodles from getting soggy. Btw, for the chicken that came with the noodle set, it was really juicy and flavorful. Quite big too for a set meal. The fried squid was yummy and had an asian-western twist from the dipping sauce.Lastly, the spareribs was really tender and wasn't salty. Bf seemed to like it.

I guess I am no longer a fan of chinese food anymore as much as when I was a kid but tuan-tuan made me appreciate the cuisine again. It may be due to the fusion of the cuisine but I loved the idea of not having such complicated menus and seeing to it that whatever short list you have is good enough for customers to keep coming back.128523128523128523

Loved their savory snow buns! Horlicks Milk was okay. We also sampled their Pan Fried White Turnip in XO Sauce, Honey Garlic Spareribs and Halibut. Will definitely go back for the snow buns! Aaand I want to try their noodle selection too on my next visit. 128563

A little tip when reheating the snow buns: better if you microwave them for 5-8 seconds then toast for 5-10 minutes. I loooove the taste and texture of toasted snow buns. Soft inside, crispy outside. The perfect yin yang.

Good thing my teammate invited me to hang out with her and her sis at Aura last night. They asked for recs, and I thought of this place.

Finally tried the snow buns, and it was delish! Could give THW buns a serious run for their money.

128032 Halibut belly seems to be a specialty, and we got the one with chili and garlic. We weren't that sold on the fish, it was gummy and the fish bones were rather large. But the sauce! If we could get the sauce and just have rice with it, we're set.

127836 Stir fried noodles with XO sauce kinda looks like upgraded instant pancit canton - not that it's necessarily a bad thing, I love those instant noodles! it's pretty good, but don't expect too much from it.

A fstory about our visit: when I mentioned the name to my colleague I said "tu-wan tu-wan" but she texted it as 2121. So next time, we're gonna have dinner at 2122. *bada-bish*

The snow buns called our name and we proceeded to this restaurant to treat my Lola out to dinner. We were a bit apprehensive about the other items in the menu because of the mixed reviews, but we were hungry and didn't want to move to another place just for dinner. We're glad we came in because the H and my Lola really liked the food. MOO reminded me days later how much he enjoyed our dinner. 4.5, overall pwede nang 5 stars for us.

9728️ CRISPY BARBECUED PORK SNOW BUNS / CRISPY MINCED DUCK BUNS / CUSTARD BUNS. 128 for 3.

We were informed that the buns would take 45 minutes to make. We were willing to wait as we knew dinner would take us that long anyway.

The flavor of the buns was ok, it wasn't crispy though. Not too salty and a bit sweet. I liked the pork more than the duck. Lola loved it so much she ordered a few more boxes to take home. Another 45 minute wait, so we just came back for it. I don't want to vote on who's pork buns I like the most because I like them all.

Custard buns were so good. The creamy filling had that hint of salted egg. I might like this better than DTF siopao version.

9728️ SIGNATURE HALIBUT SOUP. 388.

A DIY soup where you are asked for your preferences from a list. You select the soup base, toppings and type of noodles. We got the original fish soup with fresh ramen noodles, beef brisket and enoki mushrooms. The serving was bigger than I expected. We got the most plain one as the order was for my toddler. We liked the soup, it wasn't fishy and it didn't have any weird oriental spice that my daughter wouldn't appreciate. She ate a lot of the soup and noodles so we're happy.

This came with a drink and we got the Nai cha with it. Mixed with Black & White milk brand from Hong Kong you see displayed on their counters. I loved this, the caffeine in the tea didn't keep me up all night.

9728️ PRAWN CURRY 548.

Prawns were thick and succulent. I loved the curry. It didn't have butter but it had that buttery taste for me. The dish also had a generous amount of prawns. The sauce was creamy and I was slurping the sauce on its own. I wish I took home the leftover sauce for the roti I have at home.

Next time we'll surely try the beef curry.

9728️ HONEY GARLIC RIBS. 298.

Delicious combination of sticky sweet, salty and crunchy exterior. My Lola ate a lot of this! She has a very poor appetite and we were so happy she ate more than the usual.

9728️ MACAU STYLE CAJUN CHICKEN

Blech. My Lola's personal order. She was too lazy to read the menu and just pointed to the first photo she saw. I asked her three times if she was sure she wanted this, Oo daw hehe. The spice they used tasted old, like it was forgotten in the pantry. We all did not like this. She only ate a quarter until I had to persuade her not to eat it.

-----

We like that it sets itself apart by offering a menu that other Chinese restaurants in the country don't. I loved the decor. It's refreshing to see a modern Chinese restaurant that goes beyond red and bamboo. Service was great. Despite being a full house we were taken cared of. Our server reminded us occasionally how many minutes our buns would be ready. Price is very reasonable.

We're really glad we tried this and made our Lola happy. Being 84 years old her taste buds, as she complains, are non existent and we were glad she was able to taste and enjoy the food here.

Their buns are on sale for 199 per to-go box of 6. Tuantuan is a brainchild of the Canadian Deer Garden Restaurant and Lugang Cafe.

So my dad really wanted to eat here. I was hesitant tho 'coz I'm the type of person who wants to try new food, new restaurant. But I agreed to eat here anyway.

We ordered a bunch including crispy custard snow buns which we all loved! Damn! That is just one yummy thing especially if it's freshly baked. The one we had were just reheat but it tasted so good we had a take out. 128517 US premium beef curry that I suggested. Because we don't like curry but I insisted that they all try it 'coz it's not too powerful. It was fine to them. Not their favorite tho. What they enjoyed was the pan fried halibut belly with soy sauce. Crispy on the outside and just the right saltiness and softness. 128076🏻 We also had the honey braised pork. Milktea was fine.

All in all was great. The interiors are really that inviting but please please make sure to buy those buns! The custard buns. You'll not regret it! 🖐🏻

It's my first time to visit this branch, but I've been dining in the megamall branch. I've noticed that this particular branch has a fantastic lighting that can make everything a blog worthy post. I'm a very big fan of tuan Tuan's soup selection, but I tried exploring other food in the menu for this day and yes I'm pretty disappointed. STICK TO THEIR SOUP AND BUNS! in that photo I had the fish fillet with pumpkin and crabstick cream sauce in rice. It was too sweet to be a dish. It made me feel like I'm eating a toddler starter meal or something. overall, it was still a good experience. Will be back, for sure but will never order this dish again.

Love the snowy custard buns 10084
The rest of what we ordered were all so-so : chicken curry, baked seafood rice (pls don't order this!) and halibut belly in chili and garlic sauce - this was quite yummy but it wasn't boneless 128560

If you are a big fan of pork buns, I highly suggest that you try Tuan Tuan's. The crispy outer shell of the buns are the best part and it even gives you other choices for the fillings. The pork fillings are not minced and they are sliced to a perfect size to fit the bun. You get to bite into real pork strips128514

Curiosity got me and I ordered the yinyang drink. It is half tea and half coffee. Surprisingly the flavors of the drink went well and it is something best paired with their pork buns.128156

The 110881108811088️ rating is a mixed of the food taste and quality together with the service I experienced when we ate in the SM AURA branch. The entire restaurant is not even half full but the servers are not attentive enough. I needed to constantly call their attention when I wanted to try their yinyang drink (which deserves 1108811088110881108811088️ stars).

Overall 110881108811088️ stars as it gives them something to improve on. The service should always be at par with the food quality that they provide.

Though personally, I Will still go back and give it another chance as they really have good food128521

Food was great! I really liked the snow buns because if the taste of the pork inside. In addition, the crust is one of the best I've tasted. I am definitely going back for more!

Halibut and cantoneese fried noodles were good! Rich in flavor, tasty and very addicting.

The food is great. My friend's recommendation to choose this restaurant over fried chicken is the best decision ever.

Been craving for porkbuns because my mom brought home a box from Tim Ho Wan. Knowing our family, this food will be donzo once you put it done the table. I had a bite off the last piece of porkbuns.

The visit in Tuantuan is much awaited. I have heard so many good reviews. Better porkbuns than Tim Ho Wan deserves a visit from our family.

We had the porkbuns and duck snowbuns but we still prefer the pork buns. Then everybody ordered their own thing.

US Prime Rib Curry
MYO Signature Halibut Noodles - smelled a bit strong and too fishy but we couldnt stop chugging down everything (best with their XO sauce)
Pan Fried Turnip
Honey Garlic spareribs
Laksa
Thai Iced Tea deserves praises - hands down better than the Nai Cha

Im giving a rate lower than 5 because of the uncomfortable seats. We are not a family of tall people so eating was harder when the chairs were super low and our elbows had to stay high. But the food compensated that.

Late post
Had dinner with the family for my brother in laws birthday and as usual we ordered a feast!
The restaurant I must say is beautiful! Love the design and the service was pleasant and professional. The food however was mhe in IMHO.
We ordered:
Pork and duck pao: tasty
Laksa: wife liked it because it was spicy
Beef curry: too much potatoes and little beef but the sauce was killer
Chicken wings: nothing special at all!
Spareribs: pretty forgettable
Dishes cost 300 to 450 bit over all, food was nothing special.
But PIs try it tho. Cheers!

After a trip to the ER a couple of days before Christmas, I lost my appetite and can barely eat anything except congee. So when my sister and I did some last minute shopping for our Christmas trip, one of the requirements for our lunch was a restaurant that serves congee or arroz caldo. Perfect chance to try Tuan Tuan which recently opened in SM Aura. We've seen it usually full even in Megamall before so we're curious about their food.

They offer several kinds of congee but I ordered the one with Chicken and Mushroom. It was okay. Kinda bland actually. The congee itself was smooth and thick, and the rice was almost disintegrated. It comes with a serving of fried crullers. I still prefer our local arroz caldo. 128540

My sister wanted the US Angus Steak with Rice but the waiter informed us that all the Macanese Dishes were not available. Some of their noodles were out of stock too. Seriously, at 11am?! 128530 She ordered Calamares instead. Nothing special with it but at least it wasn't rubbery.

I’ll probably go back to try their pork buns. Not sure about their other dishes though.
