I have seen only a few waterfalls in the Luzon and Visayas regions but so far, I like Tumalog Falls the most. Mainly because it takes literally no sweat, unless it’s scorching hot, to get there. This destination is a popular one together with the Oslob Whale Watching area. Both are in Oslob, Cebu and just a few minutes away from each other. I think the most common itinerary is Whale Watching area first since you have to be there early in the morning, and then Tumalog Falls.

It is easy to spot the entrance as it’s just along the main highway. A parking area was not availble at the time that we went there so cars were just parked along the sides of the road. The path going to the falls is mostly cemented but 4-wheeled vehicles will not be able to go through it because there is no space at the top where they can maneuver. There are motorcycles or habal-habal available though that can get you halfway through it for a faster trek. For a fee, of course, and the drivers serve as the guides too. And then you will have to hike a little to get to the falls.

The water falling from the mountain looked majestic, especially with the sunlight giving it an illuminated appearance. You wouldn’t need to dip in the pool to know that the water is cold. I was already feeling the cool breeze just standing there on the side so I did not dare to go swimming anymore. It was an incredibly relaxing experience just to be there.

After a quite long trip to Oslob, we don't want to stay in our room and wait until morning to swim with the butandings. So around 3pm we decided to check our the falls. Locals said that there's no water there because of El Nino. The falls is around 15mins from the resort (BDC's Place). But our service dropped us in the gate of the falls and we just need to walk towards the falls. The road is cemented so it's not like the other falls which you must trek to mud and slippery rocks. It's just hard to walk in a downhill road so it took us 15mins to reach the buttom of the falls. It was so majestic. It's ok to have a picnic there as long as you don't leave any garbage. You can still have a massage even the water is not strong. Total cost of this activity is 300 pesos including fhe roundtrip transpo and entrance fee. 128076🏼 photo with Kiko O

This is one amazing place that I can stay forever. I love the feeling of somehow I'm in a different world and this place made me feel that way. The nature, the water and everything else around is just breathtaking. I enjoyed the place because there wasn't so much tourist when we went there. This place took away all the stress we had from travelling. Everything was all worth it and most especially the memories it gives once you leave... #50ksummergiveaway

You'll need to take a tric or habal habal ride going to the falls. When you arrive at the entrance, you'll need to walk for less than 30mins or if you prefer to take a habal habal take you nearer to the falls.

It was majestic and beautiful that we all enjoyed our time there. 128076🏼

After the rare experience of swimming with the whale sharks, one has to drop by at the Tumalog Falls for a refreshing experience.

"Enchanting" is the word to describe this umbrella seemingly falls. The basin is technically man made so as to make it a swimming pool but the water from this falls is seriously cold, clean and gives you a refreshened feeling. The place is also surrounded by bamboos making the air cooler. The water straight from the falls is a good way to massage those bodies of yours whose probably aching due to activities in Southern Cebu. The falls is different from the rest because it is very calm, and nurturing.

For just Php 140 or cheaper, with entrance and the must experience habal habal ride in Cebu, you'll reach this enchanting forest and falls. Definitely a destination to visit in Southern Cebu!

Tumalog Falls is one of the most famous falls in Southern Cebu, especially in Oslob. It's usually where tourists go after going to the Whale Shark point, if you have a car this is just 10-15 minutes away from the beach and you'll be riding a habal-habal (motorcycle) as a part of the trail or you can just walk but the slope is really steep! The habal habal ride is kinda scary, too but it's safer since the drivers have been using their habal habal's for quite a long time already.

The falls doesn't have much that strong current but it's unique, it only has thin lines of waters coming from above which looks like long raindrops, it's also a tall one ranging from 50-80 meters as I have observed. It also has a pool-like water which is just thigh-deep so even kids can swim here! Include this in your bucket list if you're going to Oslob. Some say beautiful places are results of an extreme journey, lucky for yoi guys who are gonna visit this place because you won't be sweating that much, I pinky swear!

Tumalog Falls! A recent discovery that is everyone's favorite. It's like an umbrella of waterfalls hidden in the middle of the jungle. As you're approaching the place, you'll hear the pounding sound that's a clear indication that there is a water running nearby. The water seems bright crystal that tumbled down the mountain, drizzling onto the rocks. And if you have to observe it at a bigger picture, it looked like a wall of white satin threaded with silver. You'll be in total awe, you can't help but get mesmerized by its own beauty. Like any other waterfalls, it's really cold. The only thing you have to be careful though is that the place is muddy and slippery. Nevertheless, for the third time, I still had fun soaking wet that I ended up quivering and shivering on the bank. Though the noise subsided as I walked away, it became a distant humming telling me to glance one more time. And as I ventured one look back over my shoulder, the willowy waterfall flashed silver one more time. Its soul-swelling magic followed me all the way home. #totravelandkisstheearth

It's been more than a year now since I started working in Cebu but I only got the chance to explore recently. 128517

I've been to Oslob before but only now was I able to visit this magnificent place. This hidden gem is just 15 minutes away from the Whaleshark Watching area and it was such a treat to come here. It was just breathtaking! 100841008410084

Tumalog Falls has minimal entrance fees I must say is worth it. Do not take the habal-habal down to the falls because it is such a scenic walk. The walk back is not for the faint-hearted though. But if you can, just don't because you'll just get ripped off with the transportation charges.

Being a nature girl, I sure have an eye for anything God-made especially Waterfalls.
Tumalog Falls in Oslob won't disappoint to those seeking a cool sanctuary amid the hot summer blaze.
To get there, one must brave the task of riding a "habal habal" or a motorcycle back ride. They charge you P120/roundtrip so having an action cam is worth totally worth the ride since there's a part there where the view of the mountains is breath-taking.
Upon entrance, you have to pay P20 for the environmental fee, but to be honest, I was partly disappointed that the falls is already "tamed" -cemented foot paths, flattened soil mounds and a bit of man-made landscaping has already festered the natural beauty of this place. But food stalls are not allowed so I guess that would make up for the already commercialized area, as long as they maintain its cleanliness.

Such a heavenly sight (and thanks to my make-do ziploc water-resistant phone case for helping me capture it!)

This is a year late post, but I remember the beauty that is Cebu. On the way to Tumalog falls, we each rode a motorcycle on the walk down (one motor per person). That was both scary and fun! Haha. And then, the falls itself. The water was super cold, but it was a great massage.

Heavenly sight, a real heavenly sight!

From Tan-awan proper, you need to ride a habal-habal for 120php/pax, ride is back & forth already. During the ride, you'll see the picturesque view of the Oslob beach that your eyes will surely love.

Upon arrival, you'll see the registration area where you need to pay 20php/pax for the entrance fee. You have 2 options to go down: 1. Hire a habal-habal for 100php/pax or 2. Enjoy the steep, downward walk with your friends. We chose option 2 as it's a good form of exercise for us as we also need to burn all the calories from the holiday vacay eating.

You'll be welcomed by the picture perfect greenery view of the mountains, trees & grass. As you walk towards the falls, you'll be amazed with its tallness and hugeness where there are different rock formations that created a number of free falling water from the top. Oh, it's just so beautiful!!!

The water was really cold and for sure it'll make you shiver but it's all worth it!

2nd stop in our CebAdventure is Tumalog Falls. Fascinating it is right?. One of the means of transportation in Oslob is habal-habal so enjoying the fun and experience in riding a habal-habal is a must 128077128077. A bit too scared and hesitant at first because i have a motorcycle accident before and got traumatize but i have no other choice 128514128514 (conquer my fear for the 2nd time). Anyway, we rent one habal-habal for roundtrip which cost 200 for two persons. On our way going to the falls, kuya is more careful in driving because he knows about my situation but still we managed to enjoy the fun ride and chikahan with him. He even gave us a free one way ride yehey! (how thoughtful the people in oslob) 128522128522

Arriving at the entrance, you need to pay for 20/person for the environmental fee. You also have a choice if you want to walk with slopes for about 10mins or ride habal-habal again and pay for 50/head going to the falls.

And then... hola! I'm too mesmerize with what i saw.. The captivating view and fresh cold water of tumalog falls. One of the best falls i've ever seen so far 128522

You wouldn't want to miss this beautiful waterfalls. You will definitely beat the summer heat with the cold water of this falls. Bring your family and friends! (Go there after you enjoy swimming with the whale sharks in Oslob)

Will cost you less than 300 to get there and back to Oslob. (You are going to ride a habal-hanal AKA motorcycle)

Look for my boy Kent Baylosis if you want to go to Tumalog Falls. Mention my first name and nicely ask for a discount. Hehehe.

Gotta love Cebu for this! Enjoy!

Your fellow World Traveller,
Princess

If you're looking for the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, well here it is, Tumalog Falls in Oslob.

If you are staying in Oslob, you can ride a habal-habol going to the falls. There's a 5 to 10 minutes walk from the top of the drop off point to the falls. Make sure to wear comfortable slippers that are not slippery because it's very steep.

The water from the falls is clear and cold.

We were lucky to have caught a rainbow at the bottom of the falls, and yes, I tried to look for the pot of gold and saw nothing. 128516

The walk going back up is a bit of a challenge, but seeing the falls was worth it. 128522

That 15-minute trekking is definitely worth it once you see this wonderful Tumalog Falls. It's a paradise.

When you get up here using a habal-habal, you'll pay for an entrance fee of Php 50 (of which, hoping that they would really use it for the Falls sake) then you either rent a motor to go down, another Php 50/per head pr you trek.

We did the latter part, and upon reaching the falls and seeing it's majestic beauty, I almost forgot how to breath!

The current water is so strong that even you're far away from the falls, you'll feel the intensity of it.

All your bitterness and problems will be washed away in here, I promise. 128077

Side trip from the ever famous swimming with the Whale Sharks in Oslob.

Insider tip:
Rent or bring your own car. It's such a hassle to shower in Oslob. Too many tourists but limited shower cubicles.
Luckily we're 9 in the group, we rented a van with driver :)
Left the city center at 3:30 AM and arrived at Oslob around 8:00 AM. I can feel we're running 80-100 km/h that time.

Way to Tumalog falls is a bit challenge for me because I'm not used to trekking. 128517 I'm not even prepared but I don't wanna ride the habal habal because everyone's walking. Hahaha! So when I first saw the falls I'm amazed and the water's cold I don't even wanna go home! Lol 128514

Ending we're back in our hotel in Cebu City wet from Oslob (we don't have any choice) we're staying only for the weekends make the most of the time. 128514
