I was too judgmental of this place. I thought everything they offered was unreasonably priced. But they proved me wrong. A teapot serving of tea actually costs less than 200 pesos. That's reasonably priced for me especially guven their quiet and relaxing set-up.

Next step: try one of their meals!

Surprise!!!! There is ice cream served here! You can get free tastes from 10 flavors.

The ice cream is served in their sophisticated teacups. I ordered the creme brulee and napoleon flavored ones. The creme brulee was a bit sweeter but you can taste the tea infusion. Napoleon has a subtler flavor but what gives it more body are the macadamia nuts. What i like the most about their ice cream is that it has finesse. It's smooth and bold at the same time. My flavors are P120 each.

My friend ordered their limited edition flavors - dark chocolate mint and moroccan mint tea infused white chocolate and chocolate chip ice cream. Each flavor is P250.

It's sooo good and the ambience here takes me elsewhere. Unlike your tea and coffee, this will still melt and i really wish i could take my time eating it so it would never end.

With their hundreds of tea selections, TWG is one of the rule-breakers of my motto, 'Never eat in the same place twice'. I always find myself here. Either having a full meal, or having just a cup of tea.

Their teas will always give a refreshing feeling be it hot or cold. This one was their tea of the day, one of their Exclusive Tea Blends - The Mistral Tea (Php195). One golden teapot is good for 3-4 cups and their very accommodating staff would love to serve it for you. The aroma of the tea itself is enough to set your mood.

This place is never crowded and one of the quiet places you'd love to spend your afternoon with. They play instrumental music too, that adds more relaxing ambiance.

Two of the branches I've been wanting to try are the ones in BGC and EDSA Shangri-La. Visited their Greenbelt and RWM branches for quite a few times already. TWG is Undeniably one of the world's greatest tea salons you'll find.

For some reason, I've always been intimidated by TWG. I have judged it as one of those restaurants with unreasonable prices but this visit of mine proved me wrong. We got a pot of tea for 195 pesos, which I found reasonable given the number of servings it provides.

My girlfriend and I ordered the Red Chocolate Tea which she recommended. Automatically, Red Chocolate Tea becomes my go-to tea order here moving forward. The taste wasn't overpowering which was what I was expecting it to be. The chocolate flavor was very light, just right to end my night. They have an extensive list of teas so don't be limited with this flavor. Trust me, they have a very wide selection, so feel free to experiment. We also got macarons: Brothers Tea and Honey something (I'm sorry, i forgot!) I was actually puzzled with their macarons section because they were offering use free trials which were 1/4 of the size of one. So trying out 4 flavors will already give you the same quantity of buying one piece.

Place was very apt for an intimate conversation given the quiet surroundings. I also recommend it as a study/ work place given the available outlets.

That's it for now. Take care everyone! stay mahusay! :)

High Tea at TWG Tea Salon and Boutique - worth it!

What a delight it was to have an afternoon tea at TWG, on the ground floor of the Newport Mall in Resorts World Manila. Tea Time Set Menus are available from 3:00PM to 6:00PM. If there are only 2 in your party, you may get a window table which looks over the RSW avenue. Definitely worth asking for this as it adds to the occasion. Made reservations a week in advance and came here for high tea with a friend on a Sunday afternoon.

I ordered the Fortune Tea Time Set (P650) - you get a pot of tea (you may choose from their extensive Tea list, served hot or iced), a choice of their warm, toasted sandwich (TWG Tea Croque Monsieur, TWG Tea Croque Provence, TWG Tea Croque Imperial), a choice of two freshly baked muffins or scones, and to top it off, a choice of their famous Tea-infused maracons. The scones came with a TWG Tea jelly and whipped cream. The presentation was perfect; all items were served on a three tier platter.

I had the Tea Croque Monsieur and it was delicious! Imagine a warm, toasted sandwich with Emmental cheese and turkey ham, served with a light salad on the side... perfect... just perfect!

As for their macarons, we tried the Napoleon Tea and Caramel, Camelot Tea and Praline, and the Moroccan Mint Tea. Each bite tender and crumbling with that soft, sweet ganache in the middle, little puffs of delight! The Napoleon Tea and Caramel macaron was my favorite but the most decadent treat was the Choux Au Thé. It is layer upon layer of tender choux puffs bursting with three ice creams infused with Matcha, Vanilla Bourbon and Singapore Breakfast Teas. This dreamy dessert is topped with a warm, dark chocolate sauce... a heavenly confection fit for nobility!

The restaurant is beautifully decorated with an old-school charm - not flashy at all, just elegant. The food is great and the furnishings is grand. You're going to have to spend a pretty penny to enjoy these delicacies but trust me, they are worth it. Definitely a girl's must-do High Tea experience.

Cheers
Mickey

Nothing can start and end my day like a good cup of tea. I love twg tea's and of course the very luxurious ambience of it. Although I must admit I am not a fan of their pastries, I do love some of their macarons. As for the main dish, I have yet to try some worth reviewing again. 128512

10 o’clock tea time with my brother while waiting for my father's flight. This branch still remains to be my favorite because of their consistent excellent service.

On this visit I ordered their Almond Tea whose description read "A walk into a forest of flavour. A delicious TWG black tea blended with fresh almonds which gives a very woody and nutty taste”. It was good, but nothing out of the ordinary. I wasn’t particularly feeling adventurous that night either so I opted to order something basic. To go with my tea I ordered a Napoleon macaron (my favorite!), a chocolate croissant with tea jelly and whipped cream (also my favorite- but mostly for the cream), and scones (a new favorite, just because I’m going through a scone phase). Isn’t it so obvious how much I love TWG?

So happy to have a place to enjoy high tea!
