We decided to have brunch here the other day since the place is pretty cute and it's conveniently located near UP. I love the cozy vibe of the place. It gets a lot of natural light and it's an ideal place for studying, reading, or just chilling in general.

What I ordered:

127800 Smoked Salmon & Egg - Smoked salmon eggs benedict is another one of my favorite comfort dishes, so I almost always order it whenever I see it on the menu! This one was a bit smaller and it only had one slice of rye bread, but it was still pretty filling. The egg was poached well, I liked the thickness of the hollandaise, and the capers added a nice saltiness and acidity to the dish.

127800 Strawberries and Cake - A nice and light enough dessert. The brown butter almond cake wasn't too heavy, and it worked well with the cool vanilla ice cream and the sweet, slightly tangy flavor of the strawberries.

I'd probably go back there to chill with friends, read a good book, or have some coffee. I also see people posting about their Ricotta Pancakes so I look forward to trying that next. 9749

I honestly should’ve known better than to think that I can get anything done by working on my bed. Haha. 128517 Since I’ve got quite a lot of writing to get done, I managed not to be lazy and got out of my condo to walk the short distance to Tyler’s Café, my go-to place here in Katipunan for yummy comfort food, fast wifi, and sockets.

I stayed in Tyler’s for a couple of hours and I ordered a Matcha Latte (Php 145 for hot and Php 155 for cold/iced) to start with. The matcha flavor was pretty subtle to be honest. The flavor was milkier than it was matcha. It was also served just warm so it didn’t take that long for it to go cold.

When the rain began to pour and I realized I was stuck in the restaurant, I eventually ended up ordering the Ricotta Pancakes with strawberries, strawberry jam, cream, almonds basil, and syrup (Php 290). Been craving for them since I remembered they exist. Haha. The pancakes are bigger than I remember them being, which is a plus. Using ricotta makes for yummier pancakes. Mas malinamnam. They’re really good on their own, even without all the toppings. I wish Tyler’s would have an option of just pancakes, cream, and syrup. That would be awesome.

The strawberries were sweet and went well with the basil. Almonds added the needed crunch, though I wish there was more of them. All in all, really, really good pancakes!

The table next to mine ordered the Eggs Ben but I was already too full to follow her example. Haha. All the more reason to come back (again). 128523

I've wanted to try this place for the longest time! My friends and I finally got to try it for brunch last Friday.

I was surprised there weren't a lot of people despite it being a holiday. I suppose people opted to sleep in instead. 128517

I ordered the French Toast Brûlée with mangoes, strawberries, almonds, cream and syrup. The toast itself is pretty good. Crisp on the outside and not too soggy. I liked that it wasn't too sweet also and that the syrup was served on the side (well supposedly -- the small syrup jar that came with the dish was empty 128517). It's fine though, it was already sweet enough for me. My only complaint is that I felt that they scrimped on the strawberry and mango serving. Otherwise, it was a delicious breakfast. 128513

I also ordered a cappuccino, which was perfect with my toast.

My friends got the ricotta pancakes with strawberries, strawberry jam, cream, almonds, basil and syrup. The pancake itself was delicious and soft, I will definitely order this next time.

The place is nice and bright, perfect for hanging out and catching up with friends. You can cross order with Gino's Pizza because the restos are connected. Will definitely come back!

Had lunch in one of my happy places here in Katipunan with my cousin today. Ordered the Benedict and for dessert, I went with the usual Strawberries and Cake.

The Benedict was really good! Super yummy bacon and perfectly cooked poached egg. I really loved how they included the tomatoes to cut through all the rich flavors with its freshness. I will the serving was bigger tho! I'm sure I could've eaten more of it 128514

The Strawberries and Cake looked a tad bit different from the last one I had. The almond cake, unfortunately, was a bit dry. But all the flavors that made me love this to begin with was still there.

The first time I went to Tyler's, I got their Gibraltar and it kept me awake until 2AM. And that's saying a lot 'cause I'm usually in bed by 10PM. 128514 So this time around, I went for  a tamer option--the Affogato! The coffee was still really strong though (as in gugulatin niya yung tatse buds mo) but the ice cream complemented the bitterness so well. I enjoyed every scoop and sip of it!

I also got the Grilled Cheese Sandwich but I was a little disappointed by its size. For P215, I thought I was going to get something bigger. Good thing it tasted great! The bread was nice and toasty and the cheese all warm and gooey. Would've been great with some tomato soup but I didn't want to pay extra. 128514

I'll definitely be back because they have a lot of yummy-sounding stuff on the menu!

Currently in Tyler's Cafe since I've been wanting to try one of its desserts, the Strawberries and Cake Php225).

Made up of a brown butter almond cake, strawberry jam, strawberries, vanilla ice cream, and chocolate crumb, the first thing that came to mind when I saw this dessert is how Instagram-perfect it is.

Taste-wise, I loved how all the flavors went together. The brown butter almond cake, I'm pretty sure that I can eat that on its own without everything else. Very tasty, has a good texture, and not that heavy.

Make sure you get some cake, strawberries, and ice cream with every mouthful. The sweetness of the strawberries and creaminess of the ice cream went well with the cake. The strawberry slices were generous, which means there's enough to go around until the very last spoonful.

Really, really good dessert. Will happily come back for this, or to try the other items on the menu 128523

While I'll always be heartbroken by the fact that Dairy Queen will no longer be walking distance, I've been eyeing this new place ever since it opened.

Tyler's Cafe is a restaurant filled with blues, whites, and Browns that give the place a chic yet relaxed vibe. Most of its diners are students, which isn't a surprise.

It's found right next to Gino's so I'm assuming that the owners of Gino's and Tyler's is one and the same since both restaurants are connected. As in you can cross to Gino's through the doorway off to the side.

There isn't much on the menu. Just all-day breakfast items, three sandwiches, one dessert, coffee, and juices. Prices are okay but if you're on a frugal student budget, they'll come off a pretty expensive.

I had the Ricotta Pancakes with Strawberries (Php 275), which come with three pancakes, fresh strawberries, strawberry jam, cream, almonds, basil, and syrup. Been watching Food Network shows since I was a kid so the combination of basil and strawberries excited me.

Presentation is beautiful! Instagram ready to say the least!

The pancakes were thin but flavorful on their own. I made sure I took a forkful that had everything in it and it was so good! The basil added a nice earthiness and herby flavor to the sweetness of the jam and syrup. The strawberries and the jam were tart but not too much. I wish there was more almonds tho!!!

Overall, I'll surely come back! Probably to try the French Toast Brûlée (with banana, pineapple, cream and syrup) or the Strawberry (brown butter almond cake, strawberry jam, strawberries, vanilla ice cream, and chocolate crumb)

Welcome to Katipunan, Tyler's Cafe! 128076🏼

Tried this new place out for the first time with my friends and liked it. My favorite part about Tyler's Cafe is the place. It looks so cozy and homey!!! It kind of reminds me Country Waffles cause of their chairs. 128556 Tyler's Cafe is actually connected to Gino's, which is nice 'cause if Tyler's restroom is occupied, you can just walk on over to Gino's to pee. Hehehe.

I wasn't very hungry when we were there but I tried their grilled cheese. It was very good but I wish they had tomato soup or something else on the side. It was good but it was so plain. 128560

My friends liked their salmon dish and pancakes so I guess the place really is good. Prices weren't bad too. Plus service was great! 10084

I'm definitely going to be going back. 128513
