After attending a wedding at Sofitel Philippine Plaza, my friend who came back from the States wanted to meet up with some of our college friends. We wanted somewhere we can talk and catch up and chill so I suggested UCC Clockwork at Bluebay Walk which was pretty close.

It was late night already so I was debating if I should get coffee or not... We were also quite full from the buffet wedding so food wasn't an option. 128517 So, I went for coffee – to help me last through the night and drive home safe. 128514128663

I absolutely love the interiors of this branch! The place is actually pretty huge! It has a second floor and it has this rustic vibe to it. When ordering, simply press a button provided at your table and the server will promptly swing by and attend to your needs. 128077🏼

• CRAFTED COFFEE • VIETNAM (CA PHE SUA DA) •
hot - Php 150 ★ cold - Php 180
I've been missing Vietnam since I left last year, so whenever I get the chance to order Vietnamese coffee, I do. Vietnam has one of the best coffee I've tasted! They use condensed milk instead of cream/milk and sugar. It's combined into one! 128077🏼 Too bad the coffee here in UCC isn't as strong as the coffee I've tasted in Hanoi. But it will do for now. 128541

• DESSERT • BANANA NUTELLA FRENCH TOAST TOWER
Php 290
When one of our friends arrived, he was a bit hungry and wanted dessert so he got the banana Nutella French toast tower. It looked amazing! And tasted great too! The toasts were cooked in a way that it was crispy on the outside but a bit soft on the inside. Banana and Nutella are a match made in heaven10084️ No need for words to describe that! 128514 I did find the toasts to be a bit oily. 128517

• COFEEE CONCOCTION • KORI KOHI •
iced - Php 220
I don't have a photo of this but this has got to be one of the coolest ideas ever!! 128561 Kori in Japanese means ice and kohi means coffee, so it literally means ice coffee. And it LITERALLY IS!! Cold brew Sumiyaki in the form of ice cubes, served with a small cup of warm milk and syrup. I didn't get to taste it but it certainly caught my attention. Too bad I already finished my Vietnamese coffee by the time this arrived. 128517 Now I know what I'll be ordering next time I visit UCC. 128518128525 Hihihi

Darnit, this visit was too long ago for me to remember exactly what I ordered! But knowing me, it's probably the Vietnamese coffee (Ca Phe Sua Da). Doesn't look too milky because of the low lighting.

Because everyone was so full from the mini-food crawl at S Conrad earlier that night, we opted to share a dessert. Jayson J. won out with his choice of Matcha toast. I am not really a matcha person but this is good enough for me - though I know I'll never order this for myself. Lol.

The layout of the place is a little peculiar - I feel like there are issues with the way the second floor is built. But at least there's a good view of the coffee bar on the ground floor, which is the focal point of the whole cafe.

What I really loved is the abundance of coffee beans, ingredients, and paraphernalia you can browse around the cafe. This is heaven (or hell, depending on your viewpoint) for a hoarder like me. I found a rather pricey coffee brewing contraption that I managed to walk away from, with a promise to buy it for my birthday. Hee hee. Let's see how much longer I can hold out.

We first tried UCC Clockwork January this year (if I'm not mistaken). We work near the place and until now, this place is still a go-to for our group.

This chic cafe is home to a variety of food options, from Japanese pancakes to salads, to sandwiches and pastas. But prior to our visit today, I learned that they just recently revamped their menu to make way for more of their delicious recipes. Well, all the more reason for us to keep coming back! We had such a hard time deciding on what to order, but ended up ordering items available from their old menu (except one).

We ordered the fresh corned beef with kimchi rice P350, the brie, chicken and roasted tomatoes salad (new!) P320 and the sausage al tartufo P320. We were then informed that serving time is 10-15minutes. The food came around this time, or maybe even exceeded a bit.

I ordered the fresh corned beef with kimchi rice. I wanted to try this before but I've read that it's spicy, so I chickened out and ordered something else. But this time, I was a bit more risky (plus I asked the server and she assured me that the dish is only mildly hot). I loved it! I'm not sure if this is what kimchi rice should taste like (I think not) but nevertheless, it was good! The beef was also tender and flavorful. It's your sosy corned beef 128518 It also came with a poached egg and house salad (with sesame dressing), but I was really disappointed because the salad they gave me had only a piece and a half of lettuce in it. It was good and I wanted more 128553

The sausage al tartufo, according to my friend, was yummy, but she still thinks that their smoked milkfish pasta (which we ordered before) is the best.

I wasn't able to try the brie, chicken and roasted tomatoes salad, but my friend seemed to like it. It also came with garlic sesame dressing! I've tried their ebi furai salad before (which also had sesame dressing) and it's just worth every penny, so I guess it's as delicious as this one, except that this came with chicken and the other came with ebi and fish.

Serving size is huge! So far, for the past few visits that we've had with UCC, they have never been stingy when it came to this aspect, and they did not fail us this time. (Although I noticed that their pastas and salads have larger servings compared to the sandwiches)

Service is what we hate about UCC. Last time, it took us about 15 minutes or more just to get our bill. This time, I think it was around 5-7 minutes. Sometimes the servers aren't too happy as well, but maybe that's just because we've always tried UCC during lunch and there are quite a number of customers, and the place is busy.

Overall, I can say that no matter how much we hated UCC in the past, past is past! Forget about that! We will keep coming back because their food are delicious and soooo worth the money. It's not just about quantity, but also about quality, and UCC has them both.

(Plus, new items on the menu! More dishes to be curious about!)

I love the choices of food 128150 there were lots to choose from and to be honest me and my friend took some time before we were able to order. Haha! I love the ambiance of the place and per table they have this button where you can push it and the server will be alerted of your request.

I ordered Germany (coffee with icecream) while my friend ordered toffee jelly (i think lol i forgot) all i can say is i like how the icecream complemented the bitterness of the coffee. COFFEE IS LIFE.

We ordered club sandwich and toast with nutella and bananas. The serving of their food is good for two so after devouring the club sandwich we were full lol but we still ate the dessert. I recommend going early because the one dessert that we wanted (Clair) was out of stock. It was their best seller (and it looked really great in their menu) oh well more reasons to come back i guess! Hahaha. They have a separate room for the smoking area so goody goodie. Their restroom is also clean and stocked with toiletries. Yay for plus points. May come back to try other stuff haha!

Featuring the Mazagran of Portugal.

Well, mazagran did not originate at Portugal, but according to wikipedia it did originate at Algeria (well, it's a bit close to each other naman) i just wonder why UCC is "claiming" it from Portugal, anyway...

128204 Mazagran @180php
It's a cold strong coffee with the zing of lemon. Cool right? How did it actually taste? It tasted like lemons in dark chocolate followed by the sourness if lemon and then the super bitter coffee taste. At first it tasted nasty but then i guess you'll get used to it as you sip more and more.

Yay! They don't use paper straws already! I remember my Judy on the racks order with that paper straw.

After our food coma at sis, headed over to blue bay for some coffee and/or tea. There were actually a few choices but I said let's go to UCC clockwork since there are only a couple of branches.
The branch is huge with a big area on the first floor for coffee prep and demo. You can also buy a lot of their products here unlike in other UCC branches. The tables on the first floor are reserve for the elderly (good on ya!) so we headed to the second floor.
Interiors are industrial chic with the ceiling exposed and a lot of pipes or whatnot serving as decor. We went into one of the rooms so that our whole party can be accommodated. Unfortunately, it was a bit warm and even after we've ordered, we decided to wait for a table to free up. I guess it's warmer upstairs cos yeah hot air rises and since the ceiling is exposed, it can get warm in some areas. Albeit there are enough AC units, I guess d kinakaya sometimes.
Since it was already past 9 and it was a working day the next day, we were a bit apprehensive to try their coffees 128569 tanders problems I know haha! Nevertheless we got a few like their flat white mocha, Americano (or brewed coffee), I got the iced white mocha in decaf. A couple of my friends tried their 'green' drinks, they're blended veggies with carbonated water i think and we shared the French toast tower.
Pretty good experience over all. I was happy that the server was able to answer why it's called clockwork- they want to show the 'inner workings' of how coffee is made, from grinding the beans to steaming etc. eenteresteeng!
Menu was also more extensive than the regular UCC menu, saw a lot of people eating 'meals' so I guess they're good too 128522

Must try for this place are the coffee concoctions! Personal favorite is the Iced Judy on the Rocks!

Food's okay but pricey. Approx 250-350 for a plate of pasta which is nothing out of the ordinary.

5 stars for the ambience though! Nice play to study and just chill :)

Ordered Grilled Cheese and Cafe Mocha. Spent 500.00 + for these. Kinda pricey for the coffee and sandwich alone. The ambiance is great and it is not too crowded when we dined here.

They should have designated bike parking just the other shops nearby.

This is such a nice place to work--especially while you're car is having its change oil.

128204128525 eiskafee (germany)
This is a european coffee with ice cream. Sounds cool and it's cooler because it tasted like spiked coffee. It's not written in the menu but it does taste like the Irish coffee that i had--only creamier.

Problem is when you go to the CR. You leave your laptop. I asked the server to take care of my belongings first. Nothing happened naman, but hey, it's no guarantee, right?

Serious work until 11pm? --- NOT! We're just having a midnight coffee (LOL we don't wanna sleep) this was after our uma uma experience at conrad. The place is still amazing. Full of power outlets and considerably good wifi signal.

128204128525 Irish coffee
Just to counter effect the caffeine in the dark coffee, the downer of a whiskey. Love how it turns hard core alcoholic after that bitter coffee taste. I love the burnt brown sugar on the rim of the goblet. And the mint leaf? Aah. (For only a sip though128517)
The whip whip-- i did not mixed just not to lighten the taste. Feeling 127931

128204128525 matcha nutella toast
I literally begged for Dennis O Kristin A and Elaine O to share it with me (to lessen damage and bloatedness) haha and they gladly gave in. Lol. (22o ba?) love the thick matcha bread. The nutella was rich inside the toast adzuki bean paste camouflages with the nutella giving it extra thickness. The ice cream giving it a touch of frost in the dessert.

The place was still almost full when we entered. Common CR at the 1st floor. They have warm and fast service compared to other UCCs. 128521128077🏼

After the food crawl at S Maison we decided to grab some coffee. I suggested Clockwork since this is my fave 3rd wave coffee shop around the area. I preffer this compared to Reserve.

The interior of the place is so nice. Woody and industrial vibe. Lots of complicated coffee machines. UCC Clockwork has the most extensive list of coffee choices that all coffee lover will love. I tried their simple hongkong coffee and I love it. The matcha nutella is also addicting. Thick toastbread with lots of nutella inside and matcha icecream. 128525

Overall clockwork is a coffee and food haven.

On the way to the airport, we already planned to have breakfaat at Bluebay Walk which was just along the way... We were there bright and early as they opened, with a handful of early birds and seniors... Btw, they reserve the tables on the first floor for the senior citizens, which I thought was great...

The place was very hipster in feel, a mixture of metals and woods and an open floor space... From the second floor, you can watch the baristas brew the coffee... The place was huge and it really looks like a great place to hang out in...

I tried the cafe con miel, coffee mixed with milk and sweetened with honey... Only comes hot, which was okay since the place was so cold... As expected, the coffee tasted smooth with only a hint of acidity at the end... Lovely cup to start the day with...

For breakfast, my bf (who loves pancakes) tried their Japanese pancake... It has a butter maple flavor, served in an individual skillet, and you can have add-ons to it... He chose to add bacon... If you see the pic, P100 for that much bacon doesn't seem worth it... But the Jap pancake was light and fluffy and rich and delicious... Try it if you have a chance...

I tried the Chicken Pesto and Brie sandwich, which comes with small salad on the side... Generous serving, with both sides of the ciabatta slathered with pesto... There was roasted mushrooms, chunks of brie, and grilled chicken inside the sandwich-- filling, tasty, and crave-worthy... Think of Starbucks Chicken Pesto sandwich and elevate it-- that's what UCC offers... Elevate the price as well...

Service was finely tuned... They even gave us updates on the food as we waited... Our server noticed that I was cold and turned down the A/C... Loved the initiative...

The restrooms were clean and the place smelled of roasted coffee... Lots of parking spaces and free of charge... Happy place!

Haha

For a sweet night cap, we had these the usual green tea thick toast with azuki beans and the pancake. Both were superb and definitely filling. The chocolate cake was a first for me here and as expected, it was rich & decadent but not too sweet, loved it and I think this def made it to my fave chocolate cake list!!! 128523
