Last Wednesday, since I got home early, my dad asked me to go with him and sister at UCC Cafe for some post-dinner coffee and desserts, and chitchat, of course. 128522

I ordered their affogato (espresso + vanilla ice cream) and Japanese cheesecake (for all of us to share, since I just want to taste their Jap cheesecake). It was moist and light-- love that it wasn't too sweet. Served with a little strawberry and caramel syrup. Affogato is okay, I asked for a decaf one and they did it. 128076 My sister ordered fruit parfait while dad just ordered coffee.

This place is really quiet and not crowded, love it! 10084

We regularly go to this branch and we love the coffee, pastries and food (will make separate reviews on food) that they offer!

The staff members are all very friendly, polite, and accommodating. Service is quick and efficient. The place is well lighted and very clean. The bathrooms are clean all the time and smell really good! They have free internet access too, just ask then for the password!

It's open until late ate night so it's a nice place to go to for coffee, snacks and good conversation.

For the coffee, I usually order the kori kohi (seen in the picture) which is ice made of coffee (Php199.00). The tall glass is filled to the brim with cubes of coffee ice. They will then give you a pitcher of milk (as tall as the glass) and syrup. You mix the milk with the ice and can keep adding milk as you please, depending on your preference. Then you add syrup for sweetness. This is one of my favorite drinks! You should really try this! It's fun to make and it's delicious too!

We also like ordering the UCC blended coffee (for hot brewed coffee). It costs ( Php139.00)The taste is just right, not too strong, and it really hits the spot. We like drinking this with crystal sugar (ask for it) and some milk. We like the crystal sugar over the brown/white sugar as it is less sweet and it is lighter (tastewise) than the other sugars. Try it with your coffee and see the difference!

The UCC Blue Mountain Coffee No. 4 is really strong and flavorful coffee. At first sip, it may taste too bitter (sour for my boyfriend) but after some time, you get used to it and appreciate it more. After drinking this, the UCC Blended Coffee will seem too bland/tasteless. This costs around Php400++.

The Vienna Coffee is another strong coffee. Coffee tastes like it is darker and the beans are more roasted. They serve this in a nice porcelain tea cup (as with the blue mountain coffee). This costs Php189.00. I prefer the UCC blended coffee over this.

We also love the white chocolate mocha (hot) (Php125) and the cafe mocha (both iced-Php145 and hot-Php115). They are really delicious and it's like you have both coffee and dessert at the same time.

We also like the black forrest iced drink, which, as the name denotes,
really tastes like black forrest!

It has a smoking area outside but they provide you with buzzers so you will not have a bard time calling their attention.

We love this place and we always have a wonderful coffee experience here! Coffee here is quite expensive but it is worth the price to me. I love the ambience, the service, the place itself and the quality of coffee.

Ahhh yes the chocolate french toast tower 128525

It was good (kind of oily though) but I probably would've enjoyed it more with some ice cream on the side. #baboy LOL

Finally tried their famous Halo-Halo cake!!! And I'm happy to say that this cake is literally halo-halo turned into a cake! It's seriously how I expected it to taste like. 128522

It has Ube cake, a layer of Leche flan, another layer of langka and beans, and cornflakes with the cheese ice cream. 128525 Perfect!

Will definitely try this again! Great service to go with the good food and coffee also.

My smart self though took the free house blend coffee that came with it (it was their cake of the day). Drank it at 930PM. Didn't get to sleep until 5AM. Very good. 128079

One of the directors of my prod team and I went to Eastwood to "chill" and we ended up to UCC after shopping and long walks.

We just came from a birthday party so no additional food this time, just coffee as a post-beast meal drink. I ordered hot caramel macchiato. It tasted fine, I liked it. Not too sweet and you could still taste the bitterness of the coffee. 9786

Place is not crowded too. Servers aren't that attentive tho. They were all chatting at the counter and we had to call them few times for the bill and water.

Now if I came here with my parents, this review would automatically have 5 stars. But since I was the one who paid... 128148

I always tell my friends and family that nothing compares to UCC's Red Velvet Cake. Its just the best there is. Hands down. No joke. I will eat you if you disagree. But then I ordered Twinings Peppermint Tea. The cake was P160. The Tea was P119. I almost choked. I'll just have to pretend that the cake was P260 and the Tea P19 128557128557128557128557128557128557128557128557128557128557

My parents raved about their japanese cheesecakes so much that I didn't want to miss it this time around. They have the regular cheesecake, caramel and macadamia. I decided to go with the caramel. The verdict? My parents built it up too much and I expected a rich creamy cheese cake. In the end I ended up favoring the Yema cheescake we bought at the food bazaar in the mall (Caroline's, P290). If you like your cheesecake super nakakaumay rich, I wont bet on UCC's. Although of course, I'd still choose their house blend coffee over any other, anytime.

Aside from the cozy place, you would definitely enjoy the food served. The one that I've got is the Umami burger. This is worth Php289. It was worth the price because you got to enjoy the taste and the chips. Perfect combination. It all contains of iceberg lettuce topped off with sliced big tomato plus thinly slice cucumber and some sort of creamy mayo goodness. The patty which is umami is so tasty that you have to have rice too to make it real meal for Filipinos. Try and visit the place I'm sure you can 't the taste.

Okay coffee and okay desserts. Just a bit too generic for some reason. Not all much exciting or engaging. Many better places out there.

After shooting UCC's Cliffhanger for Yummy magazine (Jan-Feb 2013, Yummy Likes) and having it for dinner the same day, I decided that maybe I'd try going to UCC.

It was good, and given how huge the servings are, the prices are pretty fair. But when looking at just the serving and disregarding price, they're just way too huge for somebody like me. I couldn't even finish half of my order! 128562

The Iced Hong Kong Milk tea was okay at first sip, but after that, it turned out to be just too sweet. And I love sweet things! So imagine the sweetness level of that. No thank you! 128563

The service was good though, the waitresses were nice and friendly. Plus point for free and FAST wifi!
