Really flavorful ramen! I love Ukokkei's miso butter corn ramen and I actually wish I could eat one right now128525 Pretty good service.

Deducting one star for the location. Yup, it's in Malate area. My boyfriend and I got lost for a bit and upon seeing numerous clubs, I felt so afraid!128557 I've never been in this area before. Also, their glass is really small! So it's quite hassle that you have to get it refilled from time to time.:-(

Tip: choose the japanese seats area. And I advise you to visit their Makati branch if you're having dinner. The Malate branch is scary especially at night128549

This is by-far the best ramen place out there. I don't come here often, but when I do, I ALWAYS reward myself with their Tantanmien. I just can't seem to order anything else on their menu whenever I get the chance to drop by. Why order something else when you've already got the best?

They only serve this dish from 6pm onwards and they've also adapted the no-take out policy in order to retain the rich and mouth watering flavours that can only be satisfied with a freshly cooked and steaming hot bowl of ramen.

You can also opt to have tea cold to cool your palate with the heat of the ramen.

Definitely going back. A good meal that's worth every penny :)

For the Nth time, I had Tantanmen, 'cause really, how can you go wrong with that? How I miss the spiciness and all its fat glory. Perfect for the sick one like me.

My friend, on the other hand, tried the Shoyu Chasu. He said that the broth was not that rich in flavor, and the pork was medyo matigas. He tried the tantanmen and loved it! (I told you so!128521)

It was my first time to eat ramen when I had lunch with my bosses here; and it was like fireworks in my mouth. The soup was delicious and the noodles was cooked perfectly. This is indeed the best ramen place ever! 128077128077

With all the ramen craze, it's good to be back to the original king. higawari lunchset at ukokkei , set includes your choice of miso, shoyo,or shio ramen, the rice meal of the day which is a chasu aburi (changes daily), and side dish of kobachi and salad.

This eat was two weeks delayed. At last last sunday i was able to eat narin here.

I don't know, but i really like hard noodles, ukokkei's noodles weren't that hard for me.. Yet it was still good. The soup (miso base) really is the best among all. I think that the place was really cool and japanese. There were daily Japanese newspapers also served and the service was really, really fast!

I just think that this branch is quite hidden from people who really craves for good ramen, cause i guess the place is at the redlight district.. Good thing it was a Sunday afternoon.

I ordered the lunch set A. Too bad the hiragawa set is not available... The set A is a real carbo booster! It includes a choice of your ramen, salad, four pc dumplings and fried rice. The fried rice was spicy. It has this sort of mapo tofu topping

The dumpling i could say, was not the best tasting ones. Nevertheless , pwede na

The salad is made up of spaghetti noodles. Mayo. Some greens..

Again the miso base was really good. Oil is very evident on the surface, but you can ask to decant it or lessen it for you. It was hot i got blistered on the hard palate .... :(

There are unwritten ramen on the menu; however you can see it posted on the wall. Starts 6pm

I hear tantanmen is good

we (including Tommy O) were craving for ramen on the eve of typhoon mario. so we picked the malate branch (instead of makati) because it's nearer to our place. we still risked going even when the floods were starting already. we're glad we did eat here.

all of us ordered tantanmen. 128077128077128077 hot soup in a cold night. perfect meal for a stormy evening.

we also had:
2 orders of pork gyozas .. good
an order of fried chicken .. ok
an order of spicy fried chicken .. smothered with spicy powder. i could have done this myself. hehe
an order of pork stew .. their new specialty. nothing great. ordinary.

I'm not the biggest ramen fan but I do enjoy good food and Ukkokei nicely does that. Their bowls are worth the price and the service is light years better here in the Mabini branch than in the Arnaiz branch. For more bang for your buck, visit during lunch to avail of their lunch set menus.

I can't seem to forget about their Tantanmen!

Really rich broth. But I don't find it THAT spicy. Served only after 6pm.

Tried their butter corn shio and butter corn miso too, their miso is better.

We also ordered their ebi mayo thing which wasnt good at all. Better save tummy space for their ramen instead!

Tonkokkei Ramen @ Php360 is not the best deal. It's a miso-shoyu mix and looked like it's a winning team waiting to be announced. No. It's not. 128529 My friend said "wow lasang Lucky Me ang sabaw!" but maybe she was just lying. I can't remember the taste of Lucky Me anymore. I have long forgone eating instant noodles. 128528

Anyway. Service was good and the tantanmen ramen is still a clear forever winner. My friend says she still prefers Ukokkei over Ramen Nagi, and the size for the price is definitely better than Ramen Daisho (which is just plain salty ramen).

Oh btw! It's the Malate branch's 3rd anniversary (June 20-21) and McKinley will celebrate its 1st anniversary on July 25-26. Their Makati branch will celebrate on August, its whopping 7th year! And since we ate on their anniversary and greeted/congratulated them, they gave us magic mugs!

Ate: Nag-iiba po yung design kapag mainit o malamig yung tubig.
Me: Hehe, ano yan, lalabas yung logo ni Mr. Ukokkei na matanda? 128527
Ate: Opo! Siya po yung design.
Me: 128551 di nga? Joke lang kasi yun.

So. Aside from my Uniqlo tumbler, I got an Ukokkei mug. Proof of my spending for the day. 128529128529128529

This is the famous Tantanmen. Ouf of the 3 diff kinds of noodles we ordered, this is the best, a bit spicy. But i would not say the best in town. Would i go back, probably not.

Finally!!!! After months of searching, the quest for the best ramen ends today, here along Mabini st., Malate with Tantanmen of Ukkokei Ramen Ron. This is not in their menu and the servings are limited to 10 per day in some branches but unlimited in here! Ramen experience starts at 6pm. Their broth are prepared 48 hours in advance which resulted in refreshing and robust taste of sauce that bursts with flavor from days of simmering. The ultimate, authentic and the best ramen there is! 127836

I can't get enough of Ukokkei! Took a break from Tantanmen and ordered another bestseller - Miso Butter and Corn ramen. I enjoyed the rich broth with butter (it really does make everything taste better!) but the Tantanmen remains to be my favorite. The only thing I didn't like was I had this for lunch on a sweltering summer day! Lapot!

P.S. Thank you looloo team for the shirt! #kilig
